Understaffed often and prices are well above everyone in county . Hot pockets are 4.50 for one box , cheaper at gas station oor can buy 2 from dollar store for 2.50 . I'd rather walk to Safeway and save 30% . Store is overpriced to take advantage of passing through customers and hotel guests but it makes locals go elsewhere. Fortuna location regularly has better pricing. The selection is terrible on most categories .My normal weekly groceries are around 70-80$ at this store it was 135$ . Nice looking store and few nice staff do not justify the pricing period for years now . They do not care as locals like me have complained about prices for years . Only good prices seem to be on alcohol and town has enough drunks lol

I was racially profiled and accused of stealing by an old hag employee named Lana. As soon as i walked in she told other employees to watch me and she proceeded to stop me as I tried to leave. Even after showing my purse (which i was it required to do) she continued to accuse me of putting items into my clothing. This woman needs to be seriously reprimanded or ideally fired.

They never have their hours for Western Union and they you call ahead of time usually you get sent home at least six times already in the last 2 months they don't communicate well even if you call ahead of time.

It's a beautiful store, but I was shocked at the prices. I bought groceries in touristy San Francisco recently that were cheaper!!! I don't know how they stay in business, that is the grossest area of Arcata

Cool place lots of hobos and trash around the side and back of this place. The store Manger should make them clean up there trash or tell them to leave. I'm also homeless but very clean.

I really wanted to like this store. However, there have been multiple times I've bought items that are EXPIRED. I've gone back to the store to return items that have expired if I notice it upon arriving home, but recently, I bought some milk and monk fruit sweetener. Both were expired, and I had bought it the week prior to realizing they were spoiled, so I couldn't return the items since I had thrown the receipt away. The monk fruit sweetener had an expiration date of 09/07/2022 (today's date: 05/16/2023) , I am super disappointed. I will not be overspending in a grocery store that has failed at keeping their stocked items up to date.

It is a very friendly personal staff that always honors its local regular patrons and recognizes them with hospitality great service and a cordial smile ☺ thats why people love shopping here ! :) They also have the best deal for corn beef in the county on St. Patrick's day I was surprised with a buy one get one free!

It was 9pm and I wanted cash back, so I got in line to purchase a 50 cent item. I had 6 people in front of me and only 1 register was open. It didn't take long. The music was playing on the surround sound and the cashier was friendly. Not a bad experience. I like that I can get up to $200 cash back for free there. I don't go there often, but it's a great place to shop if you like to buy items that are manufacturer's retail price.

A great place to shop. Has variety of wines, spirits. Also clothes , with fresh fruits, vegetables, foreign dishes, energy powders, potted plants to cards and of course roses for valentines day. Fair prices. Good staff.

The Ray's usually has good prices on their meat products. It, BTW, is the only place to purchase frozen beef bones for your mut. Do it ! Your dog's teeth will be much brighter..

Very nice checkers, but this place is very expensive! I was just curious about pancake turners, however, I was surprised that they were out of my price range. I went to the Dollar Store. Ray's do have a good fruit and vegetable variety. I did purchase carrots and bananas. They are certainly located in a good area. If you want a few things it is probably okay for shopping I would rather just go to Eureka!

I like the store selection and it's clean. Nice staff. Need a bathroom code so it's cleaner than most public restrooms. The prices range from little bit more than average but there's sales there you can get your money worth. Thanks Shelly for being nice. Hope I remembered it. Plus they have a deli hot food section and much bigger didn't get quarter of the way photo wise

Ive been trying to come here for months. I get that theres a staffing shortage but ALWAYS only one checker, theres never anyone trained to work the customer service desk, and the prices are too high for what youre getting. I have literally only had one transaction here since August, and I keep trying because I work nearby. I get off work and want to grab something, or get a money order to pay rent and just...nothings available. The staffs friendly, and the stores clean, but jesus, do something to get some staffing. Its upper managements failing, not the people on the floor.

Always liked the Rays food place. The cakes are really good. They always seem to have an amazing cake decorator. Family friend was the cake decorator for a while April was so talented, works of art. Everyone in there seems to be long time employees. Very friendly and helpful. Is that the last of the Rays around here...

Had a bit of an unpleasant experience here this morning, did the survey letting them know about my experience. I received a call a little while later asking if there was anything they could do to rectify the issue. They may not be able to always make sure their cashiers will be in a good mood, but they can choose how to handle it when they aren't, and in my opinion they handled it perfectly. I will continue to shop a store that goes out of it's way to keep customers happy. Thank you!
