This place is fabulous. It caters very well to the neighborhood and is always adjusting their offerings in response to feedback. They carry a fantastic selection, many more unique offerings than stores two or three times their size. The utility and variety of their store is surpassed by the friendliness and helpfulness of their staff. The cashiers and clerks, stockers and baggers are our friends and neighbors and it shows in their attitude and care that they take. I drive out of my way for the overall positive experience of a neighborhood small town grocery store.

These folks are so nice and helpful. It's a small grocery store. The Murphys in Sunnybrae is particularly nice. Ask for the guy in charge of all of the delis across the organization and make him tell you a joke. Don't leave until you've gotten your joke.

Packed with amazing variety for a smaller store. It feels mellow with such a nice calm atmosphere. Hot Meat special today was steaming hot pork shanks that great grandma started eating in the car. Always something tasty in the deli.

Small but full featured local market. They offer lots of great products, local sources and otherwise. Tasty sandwiches at the deli, small salad bar, good fresh produce, and an exceptional selection of high end meats and cheeses and snacks. Also very nice selection of global foods for a small place. Impressive array of top shell spirits available too.I go there on a regular basis and never have a complaint. Check it out!

Murphys is a locally owned chain, this one in Sunnybrea serves the Bayside and old Arcata rd. Community and its prices are comparable if not better than Safeway in Arcata. The location is convenient and they have a good selection of organic and pesticide-laced foods to choose from. They carry Brio bread, bayside roaster coffee, Los Bagels, Humboldt creamery milk, and local wines. In this ever-increasing impersonal corporate cleptocracy, a small chain keeping local economies strong is vital, and Murphy's markets are an embodiment of this.

Only go here if you have no other option. This Murphy’s market isn’t like others in humboldt. Prices are constantly wrong on the sales floor. Employees here (the ladies in particular) are incredibly rude for some reason. They give no eye contact and pretty much toss your change at you. I get that you might hate your job but that doesn’t give you the right to act rude towards a stranger, let alone a customer who is supporting your workplace. (Helping to pay for your wage) The place has been going downhill for the last 3 years.

Prices are reasonable. A variety in the deli, unlike the "schematic" selection in the larger stores. Lots of local products, and products the bigger stores don't carry. The only place that carries corn flake crumbs. They have a large selection of Taylor's Products. Easy in and out parking. Friendly and clean. You just can't go wrong shopping here.

I am at Murphy’s almost everyday because the store is staffed with friendly competent checkers. My questions to the butchers are always answered and sometimes they volunteer a recipe or two on how to prepare fish or cuts of meat. I especially like their local grass fed beef and local sausages. The produce department offers variety of veggies . It’s best in summer. I love Murphy’s.

I used to love getting The hot bar Chinese food on Mondays. I thought the chow mei was chewy, However this time it had a rubber band in it. The first people I talked to gave me a free sandwich card and told me to just fill up my carton at the hot bar. Like I want your food anymore. After they couldn't find Their manager, a checker had to page him over the loud speakers. He gave me my money back and tries to give me, guess what, a sandwich card. This place is pathetic if this is how you treat customers. I'm calling the health department.

The staff is always very attentive and polite. Deli workers are always ready to help. Great for lunch if you're working nearby. I love the rotisserie chicken. Massive beverage selection too.

Butcher with the pink hair is absolutely rude. I've seen him be friendly with some customers and I've seen him be absolutely rude and talk down to others.

Murphys has a pretty good deli. You can get hot food, good-lookin sandwiches and various salads and things to go with them. I think you can order burgers too...? Their deli food is the best around, to me anyway. I tried their Asiago pasta salad and it was pretty good after a few bites. I only say that because it was unexpectedly tangy, but I still liked it. I feel that you could probably put this in the microwave and it would be super good. Try out the deli. It's niceNo pics this time, unfortunately 😕Have a good evening!

Rarely go in to this store, but I did today. The guy at the deli ignored me as he did his work. I stood & waited patiently. A man came up & he said hello & waited on him while I stood there waiting. I just walked out. It's so disgusting how some people don't care about others, don't care about doing a good job & don't want to serve the public. This guy at the deli needs help for his soul & the essence of his being. I will pray for him, yet I'll bypass ever going to Murphy's market ever again. Their prices are too high anyway.

Great friendly place, fast great customer service and always there to help. This place is awesome. They also have a BBQ during the summer with very reasonable prices and a great selection. I highly recommend this place. There hot food selection in store is a bit over priced. Other than that no complaints

Murphy's is a smaller, local market that caters to a healthier lifestyle. While it may be a tad expensive to shop there, I feel like you get what you pay for. I enjoy their selection of foods and goods and everyone who works there seems to be in good spirits the majority of the time. It's a nice place to shop when you don't want to deal with crowds or simply feel like supporting smaller, more local businesses.

Great regional grocer.But...For some mysterious reason the Sunny Brea store has the shabbiest produce department in the entirety of the eco groovy organic capital of Northern California, Arcata.It doesn't hold a candle to even other smaller Murphy's in the area. Wilted greens, bruised broccoli, limited selection.The staff is genial and helpful. The store is contemporary and clean. I assume that everyone who used this market buys their produce elsewhere.

I absolutely love Murphy's they're deli food is delicious, and I appreciate the produce dept. Buys from local farms like Redwood Roots, If you eat meat you will love that dept. Plus the shopping experience is comfortable and has that family feeling.

These folks aim to serve! While their stock doesn't match up to my typical shopping list (organics, specialty meats, specialty chocolate - and five other stores offer more of those items) shopping at Murphy's is more fun than a task. Try their local lamb or European packaged goods!

Nice store. Friendly welcoming staff. Pricing is no tvthe best $35 fos chuck roast . Come on people. On two occasions vive had to return meant because itvyeas green/grey when meantvflso was exposed. Two more trips to Murphy's. Really disappointed considering what we paid. Safeway seems to be the BEST bin town I need to find a good, Fair and honest butcher. Help?

A better sandwich at the Subway price? Yes! See for yourself. And it was ready before I could pick out a beer from the impossibly large selection craft and common beers. The variety of market items (bread, cereals, soups, frozen food) was equally impressive. Oh, too tired to cook? The hot deli supplies everything from tasty salads to sweet & sour pork and they grill Tuesday through Friday afternoon. Good chow!

Great place to get Blighty treats, otherwise pretty expensive. But they do often have bangers, back bacon and Heinz beans, and even some biscuits and other Blighty foods. Only the Sunnybrae one seems to have Blighty stuff, mind. Well dear but nice as a treat if you miss a proper fry up

Murphys is probably my favorite place and my least favorite place to shop. They are super friendly, they have the friendliest employees hands down. That's why it's my fave. Why it's my least fave is because some items, are WAY more expensive than they would be at any other place.
