Definitely a good pet store! For a locally owned place, the prices are pretty decent! And it's not full of Purina and meow mix, there's honestly a lot of good variety here. Would definitely recommend for pet owners to check this place out. Plus their aquarium set up in the back is beautiful, it's obvious the owners care for the pets that live here!

This is who we use when in California. They are great support, they have a selection of healthy foods for the pups and cover our chickens bedding needs too. In addition they track how many bags of food you buy, offering the 11th free.

Great little pet store located next to safeway. Decent prices on food and a good loyalty program for discounts. On cat and dog food when you buy 10 of the same size bags, the 11th is free. Staff are friendly and helpful.

I like that I get greeted, and then left to shop. I get the vibe that I could ask questions. Also, I've already looked up what kind of cat nip my cats might like. And they've proven to like feathers on sticks.And I will always love a validation of my selection ("that's a classic!").All the stars because you've made me feel like you're there if I need you and still available if I just want to tell someone how much I ❤️ my cats.

Everyone who works at this store has always been really great every time I’ve gone in. You can tell that the people who work there really care about helping you out.A few days ago, I came here to buy a specific food for my very sick kitten who I’d been struggling to feed. Everywhere I had gone was out of this particular food, and I came in and it wasn’t on their shelves, either. I honestly felt like I was going to cry in the middle of the store and be “that lady” who cries because of cat food, but I was exhausted and had tried pretty much all other options. Kitty was not having it.The person who was helping me at the store (I don’t know their name or else I’d give them a shout out!) told me that they had just gotten a delivery from that brand, and asked me if I could wait a few minutes while they found the food for me. They searched through the delivery boxes for the food, brought me some, and helped me find a few other things to help out my kitten. I mean, it was a whole process to do this one thing for me and they easily could have just told me to come back the next day, but they hooked me up and were super patient and gracious about it.The next morning was the earthquake and I couldn’t have gone out to get any food, so the person who helped me REALLY did me a solid. I just wanted to thank them for being so helpful and kind to a stressed out customer and her sweetest gal (who is doing much better already). 💗

I had a few questions and asked for help. The gentleman at the counter seemed to easily answer my questions and have good advice. I went with his suggestions and my dogs are happy. They had everything I needed and I was in and out in maybe 10 minutes. Happy customer.

Arcata pet supply has always been my go to for years when buying meal worms for my bearded dragon so I don’t gotta drive all the way to Euerka. Currently the only pet store I know in (Arcata and Mckinleyville) that sell meal worms. Light fixtures are little more expensive than other places but they offer more options for your pets needs than the other stores around here.

A great place to order bird supplies - everything from replacement seed cups to toys to bird supplements. The items are sent out promptly and arrive in perfect condition. Edibles received are well within expiration dates -- at least 2 years. And staff is available to answer questions by phone or email. I feel good about shopping at Arcata Pet Supply for my little angels.

The price was very competitive, I received a follow up email with all the tracking info, they shipped it out the same day, and received my product lightning fast! I live in South Florida so probably will not be visiting the store, but as far as there online business, 5 stars all day long! Great customer service all the way. Superb experience! Helpful staff! Nick went above and beyond to help me get a pinch collar for my big rebel of a dog. He spent a few minutes talking to me about how to use it. I had avoided buying and using this type of collar for so long, when in reality, I would have been smart to use it to train my dog from the get-go.When in town, please support this business!To Arcata Pet Supply, pls get some bumpah stickahs so we can show our support for you folks!

First time using this company. I placed an online order and was surprised at how quickly it came (from California to Austin, TX). Everything placed very neat with the products carefully surrounded by bubble wrap in the box with receipt on top. Very pleased, will definitely be making future orders with this company. All the products seem more than reasonably priced as well.

The best pet store in all of Humboldt. The Staff are friendly, educated and helpful, the animals they sell are healthy and well cared for. You can see that this is really a business that is run out of genuine care for pets rather than just to make a profit.

I love this pet store! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They carry only the best products so you know whatever you get is going to be quality. My pup was having skin issues and the employee recommended a different protein base and ever since my pup is not breaking out in a rash and itching all the time.The $5 self pet wash station is so convenient and clean. They have a variety of shampoos to use and nice fluffy towels to dry off your furry friend. Definitely the place to shop if you want quality products for your pet and helpful friendly advice.

I initially loved this store. But the last few times I’ve gotten fish from them, I’ve had an outbreak of ich. I think I’ll be done buying fish from this business. My fault for not having them inquarantine before I introduce them to my tank. It was all gone, for quite a while, but I brought new fish home, and now I have ich AGAIN.

Terrible customer service. Told me yes to any question I asked, made me buy three different lights, jus to end up returning every single one because none of them were an actual marine light. They obviously are not qualified to do their jobs. Will tell you anything to hurry up and get you out. Absolutely terrible place. Overpriced and unknowledgeable

I placed an order online, after hours and received a phone call the following day to clarify my order. There was a shortage and the friendly staff wanted to know how I would like to proceed. Ship now or wait to restock and then ship. I shipped now and that is indeed what happened. Priority mail had my items before I had expected them and a refund was in my account before I made if from the phone to the computer.Second to none service and among the cheapest prices I have found anywhere.

I needed a Comfy Cone, to prevent my dog from chewing his foot, and was in a hurry to get it. Could not locate one, so had to order online. Shipping was free - didn't have to add to make a "minimum", was sent first class, and delivered within a couple of days. Didn't know of them before, but will now look to them for future pet needs! This is a great little store in downtown Arcata, everything from saltwater and freshwater fish to your average small mammals and birds and reptiles. I just wish their staff knew more about the corals they sell, and more variety couldn't hurt either.

Ordered Optivizor from them. Originally I went on line and ordered small, I decided to call and asked the salesperson for help, I told her my dogs measurements from back of his ear to the top of his nose was 7”. She then suggested the small/medium would be better fit so I went and took her advice. When I received the product it was 10” long. I called And talked to hailey and explained what happened , she then suggested to order toy size and just do an exchange. She emailed me a return label and told me I didn’t have to pay for it. She told me the price difference will be credited to my card as soon as they received and mail the new one. I got an email from them with a credit of $1.40 and being charged another shipping even when I already paid for it when I ordered. I called them and some man answered the phone. I assume he is the owner because he said I lied to hailey because he personally trains his sales people not to guarantee fit so he said he believes his salesperson and that I was lying.he also told me that I most definitely need to pay for the 2 nd shipping fee because it was not the salespersons fault but mine. I’m glad he’s employee friendly and not customer friendly.The doggies that I ordered from them was ok and fit my dog but the quality of it was so bad. Plastic and foam and not worth the money.Definitely not recommending this company.
