They are kind here. The only thing I would say is that they need a better fish selection. I will say they have a good corral selection.

Really nice guy beautiful SALT water set up and supplies. I realize most novice fish enthusiasts are fresh water; so this would not be your favorite place. Although it's a relief to see mature cichlids, which the big chain's stores do NOT have. Also was impressed by the "life" coral colorful & healthy. Ask and I'm sure they could order what's not on site the owner has been there 4 years.

I have never had an issue with Sea Otter. I have always had great success with fish I have purchased here. I feel a lot of the negative reviews are from aquarium novices that do not listen to everything they are told. They hear what they want and that’s it. I know when I first started I rushed and couldn’t wait to get fish in my new tank. I didn’t want to listen to anyone about cycling my tank first to eliminate ammonia spikes. When ur new, cycling doesn’t make sense. Setting up a tank takes patience. Knowledge isn’t cheap and sometimes you have to listen and take in everything your being told not just what you want to hear.Remember that business owners make their money on repeat customers, not the one timers. It’s in their best interest to make sure you’re treated properly and satisfied when you leave the store so you come back again. It’s foolish to think that any small business owner wouldn’t do what it takes to satisfy each customer. Sea Otter has always treated me with nothing but professionalism and I will continue to shop here for all my aquatic needs.

Trusted the owner of this shop was being honest with my family. I have spent more than $2500 in two months on a brand new set up aquarium. I even paid the $180 he charges to have him set up everything. My fish died within 2 days, and the equipment is falling breaking down 2 months later. This guy is a thief, he lies to you to take your money. I have now read all his reviews and see that he does this to families all the time. I now know, you can't have fish in a brand new tank, but he lies and sold me $700 worth of corral and fish, which all died, just to take my money! Don't shop here!!!! The guy is a staright liar and their!!! Zero ethics!!

I have been in the saltwater hobby for 17 years and this store was a dissapointment to put it mildly. The selection of fish was small and most had visible ich. The coral selection was good for a small shop, but priced verry high with about 25% in poor health. I wont be going back and would advise folks to check prices and health elsewhere before purchasing anything from this shop.

Bought a 18 fish and tank with food fish died in 3 days I felt got!. I asked what is needed of survival of fish and what care of tank is needed. Wanted to rush me out the door sold me a tank fish and food. I was just browsing with my baby girl that is 16 months. The store owner said this fish only needs fresh water and to be changed or a filter. I wasted my money at least Petco has a 14 day policy for the life of fish. Research more about what you want and then buy.. 80.00 spent

They have a lot of beautiful fish setup but don't seem to know the proper tank size for most of these fish like they have a moray eel and a arowana which they need a very larger tank at least a 180 or more when they get bigger way bigger than the tank they are in now but it a very nice and clean fish shop

I just want to say thank you to Steven and his family run business. By far since I entered into the hobby this has been the best experience working with Steven at Sea Otter he has a very clean set up all his tanks are Pets free is very knowledgeable and he gives one of the best deals and have a lot of beautiful live stock and I would highly recommend Sea Otter since I entered into the hobby he has been the best stop for me and my city I live in the high desert Apple Valley area and he’s been the best store around the cleanest too so if you’re into the hobby have a saltwater fish Tank check Out Sea Otter. BE VERY CAREFUL AND GET PROVE OF HIM SAYING A SPECIFIC RETURN POLICY! He constantly cheats you out on return policy! Bought a fish every other month and he told me 3 different policies.. 30 day, 2 weeks, and 24 hours and it's not even guaranteed! He only does that so he doesn't loose money. It's bogus! Pet smart and Petco offer 30 day policy guaranteed! Better off there considering they have a wider variety.

Have some good saltwater fish, bummed they don't carry too many tropical fish selection. What they do have available is used fish supplies. Selection varies at different times.. But you can find some great deals on these items....

Pretty nice simple shop. The owner pretty much tore apart his display tank for 3 blue tangs my daughter wanted. That was in my book great customer service. Thank you.

Superb selection, beautiful tanks on display and a very knowledgeable owner. I have recommend a visit just to see even if you don't have an aquarium. Maybe you might if if you drop in and take a look !

I was I need of some ro/di water 💦 and asked on short notice if the kind gentle man at the store if he was open he said he closed at 530 it was 5:25 he said he would wait he kept his word I glad there people out there who are like this he saved me as I just got into salt water hobby I don't have my own ro system yet thank so much for the help I will be back coral and fish look awesome 😎 thank taking time out of your day to help me!!!

Healthy livestock. Bought four different species of saltwater and all did well. Don't make the mistake of buying at Petco. Fish are usually ill and will die shortly.

Great shop, beautiful fish and Corolla, been doing business with Steve for years now and hes done me wrong, highly recommend this shop to anyone in the hobby, if he doesn't have it in stock he will get you what ever u need

They have fish, but not as what I expected. Very disappointed. Only had 3 or 2 tanks of freshwater fish. They had about 5 tanks with saltwater fish, but don't waste your time. You could go to petco for all I care. At least they will have a waayyy bigger variety of fish.

Nice variety of soft corals. They have the typical selection of salt water fish. A few varieties of fresh water too

Walked in and walked out with a saltwater starter kit. Steve was really knowledgeable about setting up a tank, do's and don'ts. Will go back for sure

He gave me a clown fish for 25 bucks and he sold it with a snowflake eel knowing the snowflake eel would kill it. Not very knowledgeable when it comes to saltwater have a nice day
