October 22 update:Prices gone up to $4 any book but still beats Amazon by a country mile. I'm ashamed to say almost every book I ordered from Amazon showed up here later, and cheaper. Support your local small business and browse often to discover hidden gems. Not only Lee child and Tom Clancy are well represented, there's John Keegan, JFC Fuller, Stephen jay Gould, Richard Dawkins,. B h Liddell Hart and many more. Holds the record of having Graham Greene among all bookshops.Ubeatable prices. Firmly recommended. Look here first before going to Amazon.

Very rude lady. Pulled up cause we seen a flashing sign and a car parked in front with someone in the shop. Who would've thought wed mistaken the place for being open 1pm on a Sunday. Asked the lady if they're open. She said "uhh no?" And continued her phone conversation. We just left. Gladly spend the extra 3$ for a new book on Amazon. Sad that a 70 year old would act this way.August 15th in response to the owners comment. No we spoke to someone that was inside the store and had keyes to your store and came out on the phone while locking up the store. Smart

This is an awesome used bookstore. Great customer service and good price (only $4 per each use book, same price for hard or soft cover). I was impressed by their selection of books. Will be back to buy more books.

This is an amazing used book store that is run by a friendly helpful woman and a twenty two year old cat. It is loaded with every genre of books you can imagine and at only four dollars each.You just can't go wrong with that. They have paperback as well as hardcover and if you can't find what you're looking for or need suggestions on what to read, she is more than happy to help.She takes cash, credit and debit cards that can be inserted only. (no checks or slide cards)There is ample parkingin a convenient location.Go in and look at all there is to offer and if you are a teacher, there are all kinds of dictionaries and reference books at the entrance.

A small but very well filled book shop. There many genre sections in the shop labeled and organized mostly by author last name. Prices are very good and the books are all mostly in good shape + there is a cat that sleeps on a chair by the door and in the window and it's very cute

This place is a hidden gem! Great selection of books in all categories and all books are just $3.00! +tax. Yep, even the hardback books! If you haven't been, you need to go! If you have been, you need to go back! The owner was very nice and she was very knowledgeable of her inventory.

My wife Kymm, and I love going to visit the green book store, and seeing the cat, the people who work there are very friendly and nice. We enjoy looking around lots of neat books to see, very low cost as well.

Had a very nice and helpful employee today, this was my first trip to the store, but I will go back....place is loaded with books.. As for my taste in books?? its Dean R. Koontz, John Grisham, W.E.B. Griffin... and John Clancy's type of booksOh...late edit here, books are in great shape for $2 a book...heck since it's been closed because of this virus??? I'm paying a minimum of $10 to $18 on sale.. get to this store people... so worth the drive

For reals the greatest book store!! First off all book are 1$ plus tax. No joke hardcover, paperback you name it it's 1$. Secondly you walk in to a super organized store with a cute little couch for chilling. Thirdly the store has a super fluffy grey kitty cat that hangs out with you while you find your books. Lastly the owner is a lovely kind helpful woman . I hope this book store stays around for a long time. I can't wait to go back.

Really great place to get books. They have a huge selection. I was able to get about 12 books for $30.Teen books are a little more expensive ($3 instead of 2) if you don't have a book to trade in with your purchase, but $3 is still cheaper than $10-$20 a book. I'm very happy with my experience and I even got to pet a cat!

I've been following this bookstore since they were called 'Hooks Books' off of HWY-18 and Apple Valley Rd. I have always appreciated this store. I am allergenic to cats, so I can't stay long, but I don't care. I like the store anyways. Always an interesting selection.

Normally I shop for my books online. Very good price, however the shipping on each booked makes the total cost almost like buying a new book. But at Green books, I found books that I've read, and that I am definitely eager to read again, at the same price I would have paid online but without the shipping cost. If you're looking for a good book, and you have a little time to spend, I definitely recommend Green books in Apple Valley. And if the kitty find you, it is so pretty and such a lover.

Ok so I saw another lady post about how she was denied books, simply because she didnt have books to trade in. Which means greenbooks lost out on an $80 before sales tax! Not very green if you know what I mean.But honestly, the new system is very flawed. You guys are trying to compete with the library. I need incentive to spend my hard earned money on books I want to keep. Otherwise I might as well get it for free when I go to the library.Maybe tell the people they will get a whole dollar off when they trade a book of the same genre in. Or something useful. Because denying customers books and expecting them to drive home to collect some of their books and drive all the way back is truly ridiculous. If I waste all that gas, I might as well buy it new.Honestly I was really rooting for you guys but with this attitude I am hoping you change or go under because you are not helping the community, which is not going to want to make the community help you. Just saying.Also the store was smelling like something died inside. I honestly have smelled dead bodies before and let me tell you this was worse.

Love this place. Full of all the essentials plus more. They have a return policy so books dont fall into the ether, disappearing forever, never to be found. Walk into the double bat wing doors and scan the gunslingers as they look up from their card games and whiskey. Teleport onto the dark creaking floorboards of an evil pirates ship. Blink awake in a courtroom, where you are on trial for murder. Explore this place and the many many worlds it holds.

Starting on July 1st there was a rule set that you can not purchase any teen novels or western novels without bringing in books to trade them and paying for the book. This is because people are buying to many of the books and donating them to schools so the kids can read them. I know so bad right. Like we would buy books abd give them to children to read. I mean what monster does that. So if you are looking for books for your children to read there is no bother in going just to look around and not be able to buy anything. My family spent 45 minutes in the store looking for books and found roughly 40 books just to be told that we couldn't buy any of them. So let's just say don't waist your time!

As always the owner is spectacularly helpful, highly knowledgeable, and a great conversationalist. Anytime I'm in Apple Valley I have to stop in. They're selection is always changing and they provide homeschooling materials!
