If you're just coming to use the room to sleep, it's fine. It's not a place to hang out. Room had a funny smell, which I finally decided it was the smell of wet dog. There was no Kleenex in the room. Not very well insulated between rooms. It sounded like a space shuttle taking off when the neighbor showered. Anyone walking down the hallway, it sounded like they were stomping. The housekeeper was nice and helpful as well as the lady at the front desk and the guy who plunged the toilet and fixed our TV remote.

The worst experience at the hotel was encountering the incompetence of the new room manager. Rumors suggest she's involved romantically with the café manager. It's imperative to address this professionally, and everyone should be aware that the individuals in question are Andrea and Martha.Rooms: The worst experience at the hotel was encountering the incompetence of the new room manager. Not a good experience. We got two rooms. The King room smelled like stale cigarettes even though there was a "no smoking in room" sign on the door. The refrigerator was so loud that I had to unplug it in order to sleep. The top of the window had a repair patch that was leaking water onto the sill and heating below then down to the floor where our luggage was sitting. The heater was making weird clicking noises all night. The showerhead was clogged and covered with a black mold. The towels are so small they barely fit around me, and I'm a small person. The bathroom door was also cracked, but it still worked. The Bed was hard but comfortableThe room with two beds was good except for an unidentifiable, dried up, white fluid on the chair that had not been cleaned/sanitized.We only stayed one night but that was long enough.Nearby activities: Between Kirkwood Ski Resort and the Big Tree Park

I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN - Despite my 2/5* rating, primarily due to my specific circumstances during this stay. But I am committed to being completely transparent with my reviews. I will start with the cons since that is likely what will interest most folks.CONS:- The shower head is not very high up - those of us (like myself) whoa re 6 ft tall of above will need to bend over/duck/squat to properly wash.- HOT WATER - this is more of a warning than a con but it cannot be stressed enough. The shower hot water gets SCALDING hot, like, McDonald's lawsuit hot, and QUICK. Be EXTREMELY careful when showering and make sure the temperature is properly adjusted before hopping in!- Someone else's hair was plastered to the wall when I arrived...- The pool was not open. Maybe this is due to the season, but there was no sign specifying that the pool was closed and there was no cover on the pool itself. It was full of water and, if heated, I'm sure would have been a great night leisure activity that I'd have enjoyed very much.- The WIFI did not work. I was provided a password, written on my room cardholder, but the WIFI connection itself was set to "open" and there was no way to prompt the password. This forced me to use my phone's hotspot during my stay.- The TV... did not work well. The TV would not power on via the remote OR via the physical button on the TV itself until I had pressed it well over a dozen times. Additionally, the buttons on the remote would not always work, and would only do so once I pressed them countless times. Most of the buttons on the TV itself did not work. I could not change the channel at all! When I tried, a message appeared on the TV telling me "Not available". What the heck is that!?- The room's primary light did not work (switch next to the door). Only the lamps near the beds, the TV, and the lights in/near the bathroom.- The room had not been entirely cleaned - there was a collection of dust, crumbs, and who knows what else between the nightstand and one of the beds.- The chair... oh my god the chair. The rolling chair that was left beneath the table beside the TV... This thing will not roll unless you threaten it. It is so old and/or so worn that it will not stay upright - if you sit in it, you are forced to recline. It is not comfortable at all. There is no way to accommodate anyone with this chair.- The toilet seat lid was somewhat loose and could easily slide around.- Less of a con and more of a warning: The toilet paper is 1-ply (as it is in most hotels/motels). Prepare to use a lot.- No dedicated housekeeping. If you need housekeeping services, you should notify the staff ahead of time.PROS:- I received a courtesy call from the staff that they close the lobby at 9PM so to ensure I arrive and check-in before then. If arriving after 9, they should be informed so they can work out a plan to check you in when you arrive later.- Booking the room was simple an easy.- Checking into the room was simple and easy. I had my room key and was in my room within minutes.- Parking for each room is convenient and there are plenty of spots available.- The room itself was clean and well maintained aside from the crumbs and hair mentioned above.- The beds were comfortable.- There is a microwave in the room, which I almost never see anywhere else anymore. This is a simple and amazing feature which I was thankful for. It worked well, too!- The mini-fridge is a great size and can hold a fair amount of food/drink.- The bathroom (aside from the hair) was extremely clean and well maintained, with fresh soap, shampoo, body wash, towels, toilet paper, etc.- The shower, despite being small, was quick to heat and extremely powerful! This made showering quick and easy, wasting less time and water.- There is a coffee machine. It can only fit one small cup. Unfortunately I am not a coffee drinker so I can't speak to how well it works or if it did.Despite all of this, it did not negatively impact my stay, and I would gladly visit again in similar circumstances, though hopefully with working WIFI...Safety: Another reviewer left feedback about the hotel being used for temporary homeless housing - I did not see any of that or any other concerning activity during my stay. I work in the safety and security industry, and likewise did not notice anything particularly concerning about the hotel itself, its location, occupants, staff, or amenities.Walkability: Nearby grocery stores and restaurants are easily within walking distance, weather permitting. It is on the western edge of town, however, so be prepared to get a few miles in if you want to walk to the historic part of town in the east.Noteworthy details: No dedicated housekeeping. Housekeeping needs must be communicated by customer to staff before 9pm.Shower water gets VERY hot VERY fast.WIFI may/may not work properly

The rooms and the pool were okay for the most part, except the pool was dirty and under the beds were trash, to name a few, an empty coke and and empty glass alcoholic drink, since there were children present in the room, we had to be careful and throw it away before they got to it. Otherwise the place was nice, no breakfast, but still nice. Probably would avoid this place if I came here again.Walkability: Lots of stairs and walkways, a little bit big but just fine.

They use this hotel as an emergency homeless shelter and for emergency battered women shelter. I have a family member that is an Angels Camp police officer who verified this information after I had booked the room. There were homeless people mulling about and talking in the hallway until 1am. I came home with bites on my arm pretty sure from bed bugs. Gross 🤢Safety: Did not feel safe with people mulling around.

People were nice, but disappear at 9pm. Noisy construction traffic, room was less than clean, shower tub in poor condition, zero amenities offered … made us sign a lengthy liability release and pay an additional $100 security deposit up front. If you are stuck like we were and need a bed to crash, this place is better than sleeping in your car .. but definitely not a planned destination point.

The hotel is well situated in Angels Camp; easy to see from the road and get to. It’s also located close to food and grocery stores in Angels Camp, making it a convenient place to stay. The exterior of the hotel is clearly showing its age in many areas, but not so much as to be majorly off-putting.Unfortunately the front desk staff was not very friendly or welcoming. They were very abrupt with check-in, and were obviously annoyed when I asked if we could get a second key for the room. They also didn’t tell us where our room was located, so we had to find it on our own. Luckily the cleaning staff were making their rounds and were very helpful and showed us where the room was located. Upon unpacking in our room, we were pleased to see the room was moderately nice, and well cleaned. At one point during our stay I forgot my room key in the room, and again the cleaning staff were helpful and able to let me in. A+ for the cleaning staff! The room was very good for the price, with a fairly comfortable king size bed, a nice clean shower, and a good mini fridge for our snacks and drinks. The linens and towels were not surprisingly pretty thin and cheap, but were all clean and more than adequate for our stay.Unfortunately we had very loud neighbors who were yelling at each other late into the night. Not the hotel’s fault, but it definitely dampened the enjoyment our stay.Overall a great place to stay if passing through Angels Camp, and would have been 5 stars if not for the neighbors and unfriendly desk staff.

Wouldn’t let me cancel a reservation that was 3+ months in advance. Blamed Hotels for com. Hotels dot com blamed them. Either way, really poor customer service. Said it was their “policy”.If you’re booking here, better be 110% sure your travel plans aren’t going to change.

We just stayed here for the Frog Jumps. I was worried because I made last minute reservations and didn't have much choice. This place was very very nice. The staff were very pleasant and honestly wanted us to have a nice stay. The room was very spacious. I always have an issue with the sheets and towels...BUT NOT HERE. The sheets were so soft and the bed very comfortable. The bath towels, luxurious! I love a soft white fluffy towel and these were. They had a beautiful pool and wish we had had time to enjoy it. There was a Continental breakfast which was nice...from make your own waffles, cereal, fruit, toast, coffee and jiixe. The only thing missing was a sweet roll or donuts or bagels.... That would have been my choice. But that most definitely would not keep me from staying again. When we walked in that morning we were greeted by the manager (owner?) And asked how our room was. It was very nice. Thanks for making our trip complete!

Polite Owners, Clean Establishment, Great Value 💲💯. KING bed, BIG room, new looking carpet and tile. Zzz bed and clean sheets. Bathroom fixtures shiny chrome, hot shower, comfortable toilet. Powerful AC, heater, and fan. Magic Chef refrigerator these are great and will get really cold/freeze. Freezer froze four water bottles overnight for my cooler. A gallon of milk and Capri sun box stayed COLD in MC. Direct TV. Perfect layout there was plenty of room. Room was so clean it looked new. The most important thing for me at a hotel is a clean room. Hallways and parking is all lit up at night. Light didn't penetrate curtains. There are also working cameras in the hallways and parking lots. I felt safe in my room and my Corvette outside. Check out is nice it's 11am. I paid with cash so there's a 100 deposit with cash. Got it back after I checked out. Open area not tight, easy parking. I would no doubt stay here again. 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞 11-22-2021 room 302. TRUMP 2024

Mixed bag: good size room, nice firm mattress, clean, smelled fine. Desk chair was oddly shaped and uncomfortable. Had to use a pillow to make it even usable.Biggest problem was that they shut down their office early and have no one to check in late arrivals. I usually don't check in before 11pm. They called me on the road at 8pm and said they were closing their office at 9pm. So I had to cut my business short and head straight there. Hopefully this is a temporary situation, but either way it should be disclosed in the Wyndham app so guests can plan accordingly.

We have family living in town, so we've been here many times and always love returning. I think it's been a couple of years since we've been here and the rooms appear to have been updated recently (still has the "new" smell.) The rooms are very nice, and my husband and I especially loved the nice firm beds and had a great sleep. The staff is very nice and helpful. We will definitely continue to come back😁

The big knock was the coffee maker in the room was missing parts and didn’t work.Clean room, excellent bed/mattress, good wifi. I had a good night's sleep. It was quiet.

Nice and clean room. When I got in the room saw that the smoke detector had been taken down and I later found it in a drawer. Also, later found frozen hot pockets and frozen burritos in the freezer part of the fridge. Customer service was nice though.

The check in was nothing shy of a nightmare... they couldn't run my card for some reason so they switched our reservations to a double queen room and the woman was rude and dismissive and slightly insulting. The pool area looked to be well taken care of and they have self serve laundry machines available. Ice machine, soda/snack machine and dog friendly. Then there is the room... designed to be a esthetically pleasing with cute modern touches. Although after only 15 minutes you can tell that it was just a paint job and smoke and mirrors to disaster.. there were stains all over the carpet, the bathroom wasn't fully cleaned by any means (especially during a pandemic finding private parts hair in the bathroom right away is just unexcusably disgusting) the ceilings had water damage and right outside of our room the entire ground floor was rotting through (it looked as though my boyfriend was stepping on a memory foam mattress on the second floor deck outside of our room 118) MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. Right alongside of a busy main highway road with constant noise and police patrol. I'm giving this stay 2 stars instead of 1 because my dogs were safe and welcome on our quick trip to the snow down the road.

Seemed clean. No bugs. Friendly staff. Covid safe. No bad smell. Small stain on sheets. A child had written on the wall with ballpoint pen. Cracks and poorly finished wall for shower curtain. Missing molding. Chipped furniture. Gas station toilet paper holder in bathroom. Room heater extremely loud and made strange rasping noises, but worked fine. Booked a $99 room (2 queens) from their site, but got redirected to reservations.com and after taxes and fees was $147. But it was nice to have a bed.

Stayed over a Saturday night here when in town for the weekend. Short notice booking, so we didn't have many other options, but things seemed good. Arrival and check-in were easy. Rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, in fact, they exceeded our expectations for a Travelodge. They also had a pool which looked well kept up, though we didn't get to use it. Sound isolation wasn't the best between rooms, and we could hear people walking around above us, very loud running water when nearby rooms were showering, and in the morning it seemed like they were moving furniture upstairs. Nothing too bad, but it would have been frustrating if we we're trying to sleep in. The one huge bummer was the breakfast which was supposed to be included. Were we're told at check in that breakfast was from 7-11am. We arrived at 9 and there was a bit of dry cereal and slightly old looking apples. There was a toaster and waffle irons but no bread or batter was apparent, and neither was milk for the cereal. When I asked if there was any milk or anything else for breakfast all I got was a curt no. It was a disappointing cap on an otherwise pleasant stay.

My friend and I were pleasantly surprised at the quality and condition of the rooms we had. They were beautiful and very clean. When you walk in the rooms, they smell very fresh and not stale like in some other hotels we have stayed in. There were ample outlets for laptops and plenty of electrical outlets so you didn't have to search for one to plug in other electrical devices. Everything in the room worked, i.e. nice sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee service, hair dryer, iron and lights. TV had more "free" channels than I've ever seen elsewhere. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the Angel Camp / Murphy area.

You cannot check in past 10pm because there will be no staff on duty to give you your keys. The room looked nice and the property is clean. The next morning I woke up, there was no power running to my room. None of the lights would turn on and my phone didn't have a full charge (so the power went out sometime during the night). The local power company (PG&E) was out-front doing some work. I went to the front office to let them know of the power outage, but the person working just told me that they were aware of the situation. This probably indicates they knew PG&E was scheduled to do some work at their hotel, yet they didn't inform any of the guests staying there that there may be a power issue. I then asked the front desk if there was a way I could get a refund or discount since I had to get dressed, etc, with a cracked-open front door to get some lighting. I was strictly told "No refunds", and that was it. I checked out that day.

We had a delightful stay Jun 20-21 this year at the Travelodge due largely in part to the superb service rendered by Tina and her night time counterpart. Tina, upon realizing we were not happy with our room was immediately sympathetic and moved us to another without any fuss. All during our stay she continued to be helpful and caring. We never felt we were being tolerated but were always welcomed with warmth, cheerfulness and excellent service. The gentleman at night was also cooperative and helpful. Sorry I do not recall his name. He was extremely busy servicing late arrivals while folding mountains of freshly laundered sheets and pillowcases yet he found time to provide us with coffee, sugar and cream. He even left his post to point out to me the short cut to my room. Our room was neat and clean. The bed extremely comfortable and the lighting excellent. One could actually read in bed which is uncommon in most motels. And wonder of wonders the sink was outside the bathroom enabling one resident to do make up, brush one's teeth while the other used the toilet facilities or the shower or the tub. That's my favorite hotel configuration although many places jam all those facilities into one bathroom making it impossible for two people to use them at the same time. All in all our stay was memorable. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.Martin Perlmutter

Very basic, no frills hotel. The room was clean and just fine for a good night of rest after hiking. The office hours were limited and there were no specific check out instructions if you wanted to leave before 9am.

Very bad management. Okey rooms. Lies in the listing. THERE IS NO FOOD IN THE MORNING. There are mattresses next to the pool. Bad customer service. The rooms are pretty nice and roomie. There is no service in the morning and at night so you can’t get a room early or late.

As other people have already noted, the front desk completely shuts down before their posted time! I was assured that the desk would be open until 11PM and so I arrived at 10:15 PM thinking it would be alright. When I arrived, there was already another family waiting outside saying they've also arrived to a closed front desk and have been waiting for 30 minutes. I had to go down to the best western down the street. The next morning, I contacted them and they said they're only open until 9PM!

Check in and out was smooth. Rooms were well-maintained with clean sheets, towels and bath. We were four of us visiting Angels camp. Three of us didn't get hot (enough) water for the bath only the early bird among us got it. Breakfast is 7-9am which is a little tight in winter. Breakfast room has waffles, boiled eggs, bread, cereals, coffee and juices vending machine.

Despite being the "new" Travelodge for the company, the facility itself needs work. Beds were a bit hard, the AC/Heating unit was a tad noisy and would make a screech upon turning off. My shower ran out of hot water in the morning, probably because the water tank can't accommodate everyone at the hotel simultaneously. A few of my towels looked like they didn't get fully whitened in the wash. But it could have been worse.

Nice rooms for a motel- clean and comfortable, non-smoking, and friendly staff. The crowd here seemed a bit seedy, someone went through my stuff left on my motorcycle, but didn't seem to take anything. I just know because the bungies were undone and a pannier door was opened. Clearly some tools and stuff fell out when the door was opened, which I can only assume made a loud noise and spooked the would be thief away luckily.

Well I work here and it is our top priority to provide a clean and comfortable home away from home. There's plenty of parking and a pool to cool off in when its 100 plus degrees outside. Our rooms are spacious, comfortable and most important, CLEAN. Look forward to seeing you there on your next visit to Angel's Camp, California.

Terrible hotel! A soda got spilled on the bed by accident and they charged me $112 for damages. Something that would definitely wash out. Requested a phone call from the manager but never received a call. The man I spoke with about the charges said I'm lucky because they should have charged over $300. Definitely rude, poor customer service and DO NOT RECOMMEND!
