I got my cat their a while ago she is now Six the staff was amazing and my cat Ninja is a sweet heart. I also got a dog their and she stole our hearts, I do recommend adopting a dog or cat.

I love this facility! It is bright and clean and friendly. I took my neighbor to pick a kitten to keep her company after losing her husband. She found the perfect companion and it was a great experience.

Absolutely love taking time to go play with the dogs that are there and donating to this place. It's a pure fulfillment I don't feel I get from anywhere else. The staff is loving and that's an absolute must for this kind of work. I feel good knowing what I donate will be used for animals in need and not taken advantage of like some places and foundations I was involved with in the past.

I want to have a cat or two.Lady in front desk kept her behinds towards me for quite a while without paying any attention.Can go and have a cat adopt me while I am annoyed.Still need a cat, so I will try another time.Might have a better luck.Society is doing splendid job rescuing animals. Deserves commendation for that. However human interaction needs to be somehow improved.Andre.

I have encouraged my mom to donate to local shelters. She gave many thousands and was charged $89.49 in fees for donating. Other shelters charged $15. Sadly, we want our money to go to the animals. That was unreasonable. We cannot justify such fees added to donations.So sad as this was my annual request at the holidays.

My husband and I recently adopted Kai, now named Archie from the Calaveras Humane Society. The staff was amazing and the facility very clean. They were honest about his past and how much work they did to train him to go home to a new family. We are happy to say that Archie is doing good and is adjusting well into being a house dog/family member. We love him dearly.Bryan and Kelly Hopkins

I was so surprised at how fast our post of our missing baby girl went up. And before the night was over she was found. Anita was so on top of things. After posting on the lost and found she took the time to check some other sites in Murphys. Someone had found her and sent out a photo. Anita thought it might be Gypsy and sent the photo to me. Yea!!!! Can this be true.... It's her. Gypsy is a 9 year old female, she is my sons baby.Thank goodness for technology!!Thank god for people like Anita, who by the way is a volunteer that lives in Monterey. I'm a mom that lives in Healdsburg posting for my son that lost his baby girl in Murphys.The world is a better place because of people like Anita who really care.This family is so great full.Debra and Dustin

They have a dog/cat food bank that you can sign up for when you're having issues with income to help you feed your animals. If I could work here to help animals I would apply instantly!
