As we headed out of San Diego we decided to stop for some breakfast in Alpine. We stumbled onto this little Gem. We were seated right away and received our drink order right away. The waitress was very friendly took care of our needs. The food came out hot and delicious. Now the one drawback is that this place is small so I wouldn't plan on bringing to many people with you. But I do recommend stopping in and trying them out.

We tried this lovely little place on our road trip home. It's safe to say we have a new favorite! If you like biscuits and gravy, it's a must try. Great flavor and texture to the biscuits and chunks of sausage. Yum! I had the chorizo Benedict and it was sooo good. My Son had the chicken and waffles with sausage and eggs and said everything was good. Hubby liked the potato burrito and hash bowns. Giant cups of coffee-these people get me. The waitress was a lovely human to help us wake up the morning.Enjoy!Parking: Its in a strip mall so there's lots of parking.Kid-friendliness: Perfect for families. Lots of food options.

Been hearing good things about this place so I decided to give it a try. To my delight, they Salmon Bagels!! It was truly delicious and the fruit side was fresh. Definitely coming soon. Staff was very pleasant and friendly as well.

Wow. Really really good.Hubby had a breakfast sandwich with home fries and I had a belgian waffle. Nothing survived! Coffee (in a REAL "Gilmore Girls" sized cup) was brewed to perfection.Another great place to visit if you're ever in Alpine!

In town for my honeymoon. We decided to try Off the 8 Cafe. The food, service, and atmosphere were great! Would definitely eat here again when in town.Vegetarian options: Breakfast and Lunch options for vegetarians.

Relaxed, cozy spot in Alpine tucked in the back corner of the shopping center right off of the tavern exit. They have delicious food and seating indoors and outdoors. Patios areas are dog friendly so long as your puppy is leashed. Lots of great options to choose from! Definitely a must-stop before or after a hike or just a great place to have breakfast!

Friendly service, no wait to be seated on Sunday at 11am. The crepes come with two crepes, berries, and cream cheese filling. None of these details are listed on the menu - just says “crepes.” Country Benedict was filling and came with two large biscuit halves, 3 poached eggs, two sausage patties and hash browns or fruit. Would come back again.

Stopped here on a whim and was completely worth it. Inexpensive and plentiful. I suggest the sausage link burrito (large enough for two to split) with hash browns on the side ( they are buttery and crisp).

Has to be the best place to grab some amazing food on the way to Arizona. The service was OUTSTANDING and the food matched it. If you see this you MUST STOP..... We will be back EVERY time we drive by.....

Haven't been here since it was called Francos flapjacks. Boy were we disappointed. Came in a Sunday morning, only 1 other table has people, so we got seated right away. I got chicken & waffles, wife got eggs, bacon and country potatoes. Nothing had flavor. Eggs were bland, potatoes had very little flavor, and the waffle was nothing special. The only thing that was ok was the bacon, and chicken, which was a bit too crispy for my liking. And I never got a refill of coffee, even though there were 2 waiters and 3 other tables full. The only time they stopped by after giving us the food was for the check. Very poor service and food. Plus, the prices are outrageous. $15 for bacon and eggs? Id expect much better quality food for those pricrs. We probably won't be coming back.

Never got our food. We sat down, waited over 15 minutes just to get coffee, then another 15 (at least) to have our order taken, then 35 minutes later we were still waiting for our food, just a sandwich and a waffle. They were very prompt about bringing our bill, though! Other people came, ate, left, and we were still wondering what was taking so long. Small place, so easy enough to check on all the patrons occasionally. Worst service I can recall. We paid for our coffee and bailed. Not coming back.

We stumbled upon this while traveling and it was a good experience! We went on July 4th and it was crowded but we were seated within 10 min!The service was excellent and the food was good!Food - 4/5Service - 5/5Parking - it's in strip mall so ample parking space!

Went today to try out the new place. We've been to Franco's Flapjacks many of times and always had great food and service. This time no different. Great food! Got there and it was a little crowded, but was able to take in all the little changes done by the new owner. Lighting is much better. Love the country music as well. All in all. Just the same place with a new name and new owner. Still have the same amazing staff and great food! Got the spicy chicken sandwich and it was delicious. Wife had the chilaquiles and said they were to die for good. Kids both had crepes. . Will be going back again for sure.

Best breakfast place ever! Came in today with the family and wow it was amazing. Country fried steak was so yummy, My husband got the Spicy Chicken sandwich and loved it. Kids shared some loaded waffles. Will be coming back for sure. Good job Off The 8 Café!!

This place is a hidden gem! We were driving through Alpine and had to stop for fuel. Looked for a quick place to grab some lunch and was sooo impressed. We each tried one of their specials. I missed taking pictures, which is too bad because the Red Velvet Waffles looks just as amazing as they tasted.

Great breakfast spot while on our way to Julian, CA. I enjoyed my Bacon Omelet with home style potatoes as did my son. My wife's Eggs Benedict were super delicious and huge portion. The coffee mug was Ginormous!!! Staff members where truly amazing. Highly recommend you pay them a visit.They need more space but can gladly sit you outside in the patio if weather permits.

We travel to California often to vacation and always look for local businesses to support especially resturaunts. We happened to stumble across this little gem. The service gals were extremely nice and took some time to chat with us a bit. The food was awesome and portions were filling. This will definitely be a stopping place for my husband and I when we visit the area.

This place used to be so much better. Since the new owner took over and made some personnel changes it just hasn’t been the same quality food or service. Such a bummer because I really like this place. There are much better options in Alpine currently.

This place was exactly what we wanted, with fast, friendly service, huge portions of excellent breakfast foods for a reasonable price. We were a group of five, asked for and received an extra chair, separate checks, various food requests for allergists, paleo & vegetarian diets, all with no problems from the helpful waitstaff. The biscuits and gravy is easily enough for THREE. You're going to enjoy this place for breakfast. Come hungry.
