The old lady cashier who works in this branch is very rude and disrespectful. I was there on Saturday, April 20th, and the check-out was very busy. It took about ten minutes for each customer, and only this old woman was at the check-out. I asked her to call another cashier to help the people and she behaved very badly and said that it is what it is. I decided to never step foot in this store and did not buy. Why should I spend my money where the customer has no value?!

The manager for the grooming section has an underhanded and rude way of dealing with customers and seemingly her own coworkers. The experience I had was inappropriate as their office could not keep on track with my current dogs grooming session. And went out of her to “dig in” about my previous pet who had passed away… years ago, even when asked not to. Overall I don’t think the folks here like their job much, they will make snide comments, offer no (and I mean zero) apologies, and cross boundaries with you, if they think they can get away with it.They were also giving classic “mean girl” energy when I walked in and said hello… like they enjoy being pushy with customers and pretending they are vets.Then they asked my dog to leave and the first reason I was given was that, “they wouldn’t want something to happen” to my current dog. 😕 That manager and her assistant are mean for fun and disrespectful to people on a good day. Couldn’t recommend you taking your dog elsewhere more.I called back to report the incident to a higher up , and their customer service at that store wouldn’t answer the phone.

Horrible experience. Arrived early by mistake and the person behind the counter made me feel as if I had inconvenienced her. I left and came back for my scheduled time. Went through the check in process only to find out that I needed a note from the vet because my dog has a heart murmur. I booked the appointment online almost 2 weeks in advance and that never came up before. I left and just learned to cut my dogs hair myself. The grooming staff here didn't seem to care or want to be there.

They've got descent stock and I appreciate that they have grooming on site! I get my Rotties nails trimmed and buffed here every few months. Appts work best but walk-ins are possible in less busy times.

I come here to buy crickets for my pets and sometimes take pictures of their beautiful assortment of colorful and exotic animals. Lisa, one of the employees, was making the tanks look clean and visually appealing with her own personal touch. I appreciate the work the staff do to make their customers feel listened to.

Took my fur baby to Petco, Alameda for grooming. My little girl had excessive growth and this was her first time. Vanessa did an amazing job!! She was gentle and gave me full details on my baby's experience, from how she treated anxiety and included areas that she was resistant to have cut. I already made another appt. #happycustomer

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO GET GROOMED HERE. I was canceled last minute, but I agreed to go the next day. They told me that the cut would really be a shave because she was “patchy”. I told them to just brush her and they denied. Please know that I groom my puppy every week, so I didn’t understand the problem, but I agreed for them to shave bit around the harness area and just cut down what they can. This was going to be her first cut and I specifically told them that if she was not handling the sanitary cut well to NOT CUT THE REST OF HER HAIR. They said it would take 2-3 hours. It took over 3 1/2 hours for them to call me, tell me that they didn’t finish the work because she was too stressed and started to nip at them, and to just come pick her up. They told me to reschedule for another time to finish the cut and told me I could pay later. I wasn’t sure why they didn’t let me pay, but I understood why once I got home. My pup wasn’t even blowed-dried after the cut. She had chunks of hair coming out of her. They didn’t even try to groom her tail area and they gave her a rash around her lips, shaved off her whiskers.Please note that my puppy doesn’t bite humans, she barely even barks or growls. She is the sweetest pup to humans and other dogs and I have never heard of her being mean to humans so this came as a surprise to me. I believe they stressed her out so much and irritated her skin that she got to that level and started nipping.PLEASE DONT GO HERE.I have pictures of her before the cut, after the cut, and how she was supposed to look.

This petco in particular has an amazing display of their many fish species. They also had a goldfish that could easily be the biggest worldwide. I have fish, aquatic frogs, cats, a bearded dragon and a leopard gecko. When I need my supplies I come to petco. Using their rewards system is a really great way to save!

Our friend took their dog there for grooming. The groomer severely cut the dog and it had to be taken to an emergency vet to the tune of $750 - $1000. While Petco paid the bill the damage to the poor dog was traumatizing.

Female cashier was extremely rude, gave me the run around to the point I had to leave items. I am extremely disappointed and upset my time and effort to have a good day was ruined by this location. Would not recommend or visit again.

Will never order from them again Everytime I order the never give my. Right order or they send two drivers then both drivers expect to be tipped because they did there job. Then when you try to get a refund manager says he cant give me a refund I'll have to call back or go to store after 140 when Gm is there well kif everybody had to wait for the GM to get a refund there must be a lot of people still in line for one they gave me the run around about who was at fault and of course it wasn't them it was door dash don't care who messed up I want to know what your going to do to fix it. I will never order from them again .

My first trip to this location and fell in love!We happened to go on a Saturday when they had kittens and cats available for adoption and I didn't even make it past the front door mat before falling in love with this kitten! I lost my black cat of 19 years last year and haven't been ready or found the right fit until this day.The staff was beyond amazing with the entire process and overly kind and helpful (in the best and family-like way) that it should set the bar for customer service.They have a LARGE live fish section. We left with 2 Raphael catfish and a couple other fishes for our giant tank. We love our fishies and our new addition to the family, we renamed our runt tortoise shell kitten, Autumn!This location defiantly loves and cares about your pets without even having to meet them! (And even more so if they get the pleasure!)

Cool place with helpful people, I've watched the employees help so many people with their "contactless" vet care for mainly dogs I'm not sure about other pets. You can make an appointment first and just pull up into their designated parking spots for patients.

I bought a hamster, a cage and food. The sale rep never informed me about caring or precaution about it. I felt that the hamster is lonely. So I went back next day to buy another. I was stumble around for ten minutes until I found a sale rep. The sale rep asked if I have a cage. I told her just bought one yesterday but she insist I buy another cage for a new one because they will fight. I doubt it, because they had 2 or 3 in the same cage and I did not see them fight. Overall, I think the sale rep either being lazy, lying or did not want to get the key and open the cage or they want to sell more product along with the hamster. I will never shop here again. I bought baby chicks from Mike's Feed and Pets and it was a pleasant transaction. If you intend to shop for live animal. I recommend Mike's Feed and Pets.

I've shopped here for my cat for many years. I've always been able to find the products I need, and the service people have answered my questions thoroughly and politely. Parking nearby is easy to find. I even had one extensive experience with their veterinarian, and he and his team were able to bring my very sick cat back to complete health. It's a fine store that I heartily recommend.

I like to buy my Dog food in the store but now having shopping carts that don’t go out the door buying a 35lb bag of food and a dozen or so cans of food is a hassle to get to the parking lot. I understand the reasoning but it makes ordering online more appealing.

Need better selection for large birds (African Gray) : Toys, treats, and healthy foods. The bird area is so small it appears that they are not a priority. The store in Emeryville always has what need, and I usually buy more than in intend or needed.

Just okay pet store for basic items. Can be hard to find staff at times for assistance. Often times fish are on "quarantine". Not somewhere I'd buy a pet but okay for supplies.

The Docs here did a great job accommodating my pup when she refused to go with them. They went above and beyond to make her comfy during a pretty intrusive diagnostic for a skin infection. I got a couple cost options for the same treatment and I was able to save a lot of money. The staff is professional and courteous at all times. I'm glad I found them and both my pups, 6 yo Pitsky and 5 yo Husky now have a regular vet I can trust who won't break the bank.

Love this place! The ladies here were so sweet, kind and knowledgeable about fur babies; I bought my Jack Russell fur baby here to get groomed and I must say that these two ladies had done such an amazing job with my pup even though this was his first wash so he was a little hassle but nothing that these two ladies could not handle. Petsmart doesn’t ever has to worry about us again, petco is our new fur home.

DO NOT BUY YOUR FISH HERE. My husband brought home a plecostamus from Petco and the ich diseased fish ended up killing my school of loaches that I’ve had for over 10 years. Heartbreaking. Spend the money and go to a proper aquarium store that keeps their tanks healthy.
