Absolutely loved this place. Outdoor exhibit goes quick but is pretty cool. The indoor exhibit is the bread and butter of this place. Its very informative and captivating. It's laid out in a way that keeps you engrossed in it all. Gift shop is nice and the lady working on this day was super sweet. Wife and I were thoroughly impressed with the entire place. We highly recommend visiting.

This state park and museum is definitely worth checking out. The outdoor exhibit is pretty small and takes about 10 or 15 minutes to complete. It’s all paved and handicap accessible. The indoor exhibit is truly amazing and where you’ll spend most of your time. They did such a great job of creating a captivating experience. There’s so much information in the museum it’s almost overwhelming. There are some awesome interactive parts including a theatre, elevator (Time Machine) and more as well as a section for kids. Children ages 4/5 or older would enjoy the museum. I’d recommend setting aside 2 hours or so to do the inside portion of the park. Like most parks the museum is free and open to the public. Make sure you check the Arkansas State Parks website to find out the hours of operation.

The stars in this review might be a bit unfair because the main museum was flooded out and we didn't get to explore it. Which didn't leave much else to do at this park other than walk around looking at the oil drilling equipment. Which was okay. Our explorations through some of the southern Arkansas State Parks was a bit hampered by all of the recent rains and flooding.

Working on visiting all the state parks in Arkansas, the Museum of Natural Resources is one of the last few remaining, and oh boy it did NOT let us down. Everyone needs to make the trip down / over / across, up or however you want to get here and visit, look, read and learn things you never even knew!!! The outdoor adventure / enthusiast that I am and I even picked up a few facts about Arkansas. The history about our Natural State just keeps amazing me! We are so blessed to live in the wonderful, unique and very diverse state! So make a plan, do the drive, and take in alittle more of our wonderful well named Natural State of Arkansas.

Enjoyed our visit. My sons really liked the hands on areas, but some of the exhibits were not working. If you're in the area, consider visiting. I especially love that it's free!

It's, one of, the best Museums I have walked through and it's free, to get in! They, do, accept donations, though. In some ways, it reminds me of the Mid-American Museum. They have a, cool, Souvenir Shop and this Museum has a "two headed calf"! We live an hour and a half from Smackeover and we plan to return!! Thanks!!

What an exciting place to visit. The place is free with numerous exhibits both inside and outside. I never knew that for 5 months the town of smackover was the largest producing oil field in the world. Population of the area went from 100 to 25000 in moments after oil was discovered. You need to visit this great facility.

I love the idea, I love the building itself, and I love the exhibits. I have read most of the panels and the history of El Dorado, Smackover, and Norphlet is fascinating, sad, and inspirational. However I am bit of a nerd for history, I hope they find a way to capture the locals or tourists attention or I am afraid our history will be forgotten amongst the modern times. I am only 27 and I am concerned.
