I am very very difficult to find a shoe I can tolerate as I have Multiple feet issues.I ordered a pair of Brookes from them online, to replace my wore out 1's.I figured since the ft Dr tld me to wear Brookes, well they'd all be similar, so I ordered online, on a Hot Deal, a pr of Adrenalines for 89.99!!!I wore them around the house for 2 days, but the balls of my ft hurt & my calves kept going into cramps by the end of the day. I figured it has to be something how these soles are made diff.I went to Sherwood Academy & they let me return them.They were super nice about it.I could not find the same type of plain Glycerin Brookes that I'd been wearing for a fw yrs.They had the new stretch over your ft Glycerin.I have very lil meat on my ft, so the top of my foot is very bony, so that pressing down elastic don't wrk for me.I got a Ghost Max.Beautiful shoe.I was skeptical because the sole was kinda thick, but it felt so good for my neuroma, to have that much soft sole between my ft & the concrete flr.It didn't seem like a rocker shoe I tried somewhere a long time back, but it did have a very very slight movement to it, so I thought I could tolerate it.I tried a true rocker sole shoe once several yrs ago & I could not tolerate it because they rocked me right down on my fallen metatarsals & neuroma.My calves also lock up W/a rocker sole. It puts too much movement all day on my skinny, not very strong calves.A Rocker sole you will like, if you only have plantar fasciaitis & you already have strong calve muscles, because it gives that break you want off of your heel, by rocking you.So ends up the Ghost Max did about the same exact thing as the Adrenaline, balls of feet pain & cramping up calves.I pd $40 more for the Ghost. I returned them W/no problem.I searched again.Nothing was working because of all the new sole types these shoe companies are making.I couldn't get just a regular shoe in a diff. type of shoe because I'm suppose to have the wide boxed toe & a sole & heel area that does not bend or is very difficult to bend W/your hand.Wide toe for neuroma & metatarsal issues, hard to bend soles/heels for Plantar fasciaitis.My Ft dr did say all ppl should be wearing them because thats typically what is causing all the ft issues, toes that stay crowded up & shoes that the soles allow your ft to bend repetitively all day every day W/no stability & no heel support.I finally walked around W/my old shoe in my hand comparing the width & angle of the sole to every pr of Brookes, ending up in the mens section.Ah ha, there was 1 that looked like my Glycerin sole, a TRACE 3, for $99.99. Could it be it would work & I'd get money back? YES!!! They feel just right. 7 days later & I won't need to return.I am so thankful to Academy that they have such a wonderful return policy.It isn't their fault these shoe manufacturers are making all these crazy types of soles.They did have 1 type of Brookes, in the women's dept., in the store, that the sole looked similar to mine, but they were out of my size.I think its a great place to shop for shoes.They run alot of sales.If you find the shoe you are wanting when its on sale, then it is cheaper than what you will pay at a Foot Store for shoes like Brookes.I do have my own insoles in these shoes but for picture sake I threw the originals back in there.

Had the stuff I was looking for. Prices always seem a little high here but selection is probably better than anywhere else. Could've definitely used more helmet options for young kids.Would've liked to see more in the way of gun safety devices, lots of ammo but not a lot of locking mechanisms which seems odd. Isn't safety important?

My go to for sports equipment and more! They had everything I set out to purchase and more. The only reason I didn't give five stars was because my most recent shopping experience was interesting. The cashier tried overcharging us twice and seemed like she was on something. I'll be sure to avoid her lane in the future if she's still there.

Update:…..I’m rewriting my review on what happened today while in this store (2/03/24) wife and I went in to establish whether we order a pool online or directly in the store. We found out online only. While at this establishment I purchased a box of 22 shells. I went to the register that’s located at the service counter. The lady at the counter rang me up, as she’s handing me my change she hands it over the counter she never looks at me or says a word and the same when she hands me my receipt. NEVER looks at me or says a word! I’d give her name but it wasn’t on the receipt. We have shopped at this location for years and never encountered an employee like this woman. Wish I knew her name so I could call her out! We will continue to purchase from this store. Employees like this just make my skin crawl!!!

I needed a soccer ball and sweat band. The store was clean and bright. No clutter. A worker wasn't hard to find when I couldn't find the sweatband. I will continue to shop there. Also, I thought it was neat that they had a pod out so that shoppers could see accurate size.

Went in to get some ammo and saw a scope in the display case marked at $299. I asked the guy at the counter if the price was right and asked to see the scope. I asked him 3 times if it in fact was 299 and he said yes. He checked on the computer and verified. I told him I'd take it. When he went to ring it up, it showed $399. I told him that's not what it showed on the tag and he corroborated 3 times. He then apologized and said it was a similar scope. He called the manager who offered $15 off the $399 price and that they don't honor the price mistake.

Ask for assistance i was told i could look it up myself . Ask if a member could assist me calling the lr location to see if they had baseball cleats i was told she could give me the number . poor customer service. Do not recommend

I used to love going to this store until here recently. Every time my husband and I go into this store, we get followed around as if we are stealing or something. And it wasn't just once. It's been every time (about 7 or 8 times) in the last 10-12 months even though neither of us have stolen anything from them. At any location. Annnnywho, the options are endless!! Which is why I'm still giving them a ⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating.

This store is on of my all time favorites the arrangements of items are placed in very suitable positions. They are always nice and neat they have an abundance of the items everything is always shelved to the frount. Customer service is always helpful but not so much that they seem pushy.The store its self is located in a very nice area . The only thing that kept them from getting a 5 star total from me was the men's restroom.

I love shopping at Academy Outdoors! It has has so much great stuff! Maybe you are a runner, hunter, fisherman, kayaker, workout enthusiast, or you prefer a tent to a motel, to breathe fresh cool air when you wake up in the morning. Whatever it is that you and your family are into-- Academy is going to have a selection of color, styles, & prices for you to choose from! Even if you are a couch potato watching your favorite teams- (Whoooo, pig, sooie! Razorbacks!), they have the largest amount of Razorback Nation wearables and gifts that I have ever seen!The gun department is filled with many knowledgeable sales associates. Always enjoy looking at the latest arrivals.And shoes! OMG, from every sort of athletic running, aerobic, yoga, boat shoes, to casual, everyday shoes, and even casual BOOTS! They have them too! Famous names , like Toms, Crocs, Sketchers, lots more!And clothing! Great shirts! And when the clothes are on SALE or CLEARANCE racks, they are truly marked down deeply!The photos scratch the surface of what is there. Take an hour, and wander around in Academy! It truly has something for everyone inside!

I went there to get my 14 year old granddaughter running shoes. I have to use their elec scooter. I was there for over an hour every was great ,spent 226 dollars and went home found out we bought 2 left shoes for 69 dollars. Called the store and they said no problem bring back and exchange. 3 hours later I go back. They said take it to the cashier their was only one. I said to her do you need me here for this exchange? She said no. So I left my granddaughter to finish up so I could sit in the car. After about 15 min my kid called and said they wanted my credit card. I said bring the shoes and receipt to the car so we could leave. She said they won't give them to her. I said then just bring the receipt. She said they won't give her that either. I told her to come to the car. When she got in the she was frightened. I said you didn't do anything wrong. I was mad, I went in to get my receipt. They wouldn't give it to me either. But they wanted my credit card to complete the transaction. I said I didn't allow them in my account. I walked away I was done but I was still mad so I turned thanked and told them how I really felt! I went home.3 hours later my 14 year old granddaughter said they coaxed into signing my name to something. I've been buying shoes at Academy for my wife and I and 7 children since 2005. I was lied to by everyone.

Every time I come here they have one cashier working.This time, two managers standing behind the counter hukshitting and a greeter standing at the door who didn't greet me. No less than 5 associates walking around aimlessly looking at shelves while 10 customers are in line.Last time, only one cashier in sight period.Time before that 3 associates standing by the front door doing nothing, one cashier.

This location is alright. It's not the easiest to get to but it has plenty of parking. The store itself has a big selection but it can sometimes be difficult to find an associate if you are needing help. Unfortunately, bathrooms look like a war crime every time I go here. It's intense.

The only reason I returned to This Academy was to take advantage of a specific below cost sale item. My previous experience with this store was less than agreeable. I had ordered some items to be delivered and their ad and web site indicated that shipping was free. When the order arrived there was an $18 dollar charge for shipping. I contacted this Academy store and was basically told by the manager there was nothing they could (or wouldn't) do about it. Over the last two plus years they have lost several hundred dollars of my business that I shopped elsewhere -- and will continue to do so.
