Absolutely lovely pet shop! This is our favorite place to come with our Goldendoodle. Great assortment of treats, lots of fun critters for my kids to see. They especially love the resident turtles that roam the store!

The store itself is super clean and tidy with a really sweet staff! However, I really wish someone knowledgeable on saltwater care would help those poor fish.Suffering from HLLE, ick, rampant algae growth and decaying fish. It’s sad and disappointing that these fish are still being sold when they should be treated and quarantined. Make sure you examine and quarantine ALL fish you get from here or else they’ll be dying soon and you’ll be out money!Edited: After publicly sharing on my Facebook an employee whom I’m not friends with started to argue over the state of the tanks, which you can tell from these 3 different tanks are all filthy. After proceeding to discuss these issues, it was brought to my attention Neighborhood Pet Shoppe removed the ability to leave reviews on Facebook. It’s extremely distasteful not only the owner but workers as well would rather argue with customers than to address the state of their husbandry.EDITED AS OF 4-9-2024My fiancé went into purchase some dog food and was stopped by the manager on duty Tanya Salas, and was told he would be allowed to continue shopping in this location. I, however, would not be allowed in per the owners until I removed all of my unsatisfactory reviews. I think it is EXTREMELY unprofessional to BAN customers simply based on their concerns over the well-being of the animals in their care, and the fear of being held accountable in future situations.Please be aware of the places you shop!!RESEARCH the animals you’re looking at first and make sure you can tell the differences between healthy and sick!Ensure the husbandry is correct AND maintained or else you WILL be taking home a sick animal.Noted*** additional screenshots of the disagreement before it was removed.

Miss Wilda was fantastic!!! I was just buying sand for my tortoise, she gave me great advice! When I asked where the best vet was for a reptile she gave me a location and even mapped it out for me! I recognized her from the cabot location when she helped me years ago with some water dragons. She was so sweet, so helpful, and even remembered my customer points that I had forgotten about. Great experience today!

My son and I attended a birthday party here, and we were abruptly asked to leave. They stated that I was not supervising my son closely enough. Other children were running around petting animals without supervision, so I was under the impression that the store was pretty relaxed. This was our first time ever being there, so I was not familiar with how the place operated. When I informed the manager that it was our first time and I would be more mindful of my son, she told me we had to leave immediately, without a warning or second chance. I am usually on my son's heels all the time, but the vibe and all the other kids running around made it seem like it was okay to be a little more relaxed about trailing behind him. They stated that he was being "mean" to the animals, which I addressed with my son right away. I had only seen my son holding and petting them softly. They said he poked one animal and hit another. My son said he only poked a hedgehog once and did not hit the other animal. However, despite correcting his behavior and explaining my confusion about the rules of the place, she told us we had to leave immediately. My son felt so bad, and I was pretty confused about their rules myself. Needless to say, we won't be back. My son had discussed having his own birthday party there, but now he wants nothing to do with the place. The manager stated that she "has to protect the animals," which I understand, but I think it could have been handled with more grace, compassion, and class. At one point, my son said he was gently holding a guinea pig and two employees were giving him a dirty look, but he did not know why. If that was not a teachable moment for them, I don't know what is. Not to mention unprofessional. We are both very disappointed in our experience. So just a warning to everyone, they are not clear on their rules and they are very intolerable. They do not make children aware of their expectations when handling the animals. If the child makes a mistake, they kick them out immediately. It crushes any interest children may have in learning about little animals.

Edited to add: I would really like to know what is missing because everything I received is in the tank. You can see the list of include items in the picture I posted and you can see that all of those items are in there. You are trying to justify the way I was treated when you know eveyone who reads this will agree what is in that picture is returnable and that is what I took to the store to return.I know this review will probably be deleted with the encountes I've had I would expect nothing less. I purchased a reptile with enclosure and accessories. We had a great experience in the store but when we got home, it was just one problem after another. The tank was damaged and one light did not work. We called the store and they was going to replace the light but they did not know what they would do about the tank. We then opened the mat for the bottom of the tank it was cut several inches short. We then decided that if everything we opened was defective we obviously did not want to use this brand, because the quality is not good. We spent $430 in the store, not cheap. The receipt states that they will do a refund for manufacturer defects. According to the manager we should have immediately taken it back to the store. If we got in the car right then they would have been closed before we got there and they was closed the next day as well. We tried to return the tank well with in the 14 day window and they would not give a refund because it was used. Everything that was sealed was still sealed. The box is fine, the stickers still on the tank but because I left the animal in the cage they will not accept a return. They did not have a cage to replace the one, even if that is what I wished to do. I did not because why would I want another product of such poor quality? So I guess she expected me to take the animal out of the cage and what keep it in a cardboard box for 2 days until they was open again? Can't use the light to keep it warm either because well it's a kit. So all they are willing to do is store credit. I don't need store credit when I don't want the product they offer.I am so disappointed because we made quite a drive to shop here. I had heard such great things about them and they had a larger selection of reptiles for my son to choose from. Only to be treated so poorly. I will admit that I also was not the nicest, but I have been taken advantage of, who wouldn't be mad? I am attaching pictures of the "used" tank I tried to return, also where it is broken (it was like this as soon as we opened it). You tell me if the manufacturer would have accepted the return as a defect.If I was looking for a pet store, I would stay far away from this store. I have been treated very poorly, and paid $430 for a bunch of defective items. The only thing that seems to be in working order is the reptile so that is the only positive in this scenario. I hope this review saves someone else from being taken advantage of like we was.

Very pet friendly store. A little pricey IMO. But the staff are very knowledgeable and polite. The store pets are always a joy to experience. (There are real tortoises walking around the store!!) Fully stocked tanks of birds, fish and reptiles. Plus anything you could want for your pet babies!!

An exceptional store with exceptional employees. Friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. The store is always clean, the animals are well taken care of, and the employees never hesitate to stop what they’re doing to help you. They have an amazing selection for all animals from ferrets to snakes, to dog treat bakery bar and dog tag maker. If you’re ever in the area, stop by.

Amazing pet shop! I got a baby sulcata tortoise today! She’s absolutely wonderful. The guy helping us out was so nice and helped find everything we needed for her tank. The store was beautiful, clean, had so much stuff! You can even pick some of the animals up and pet them.

My husband and I love stopping by & bringing in our Teeter! She loves the attention she gets & they always have all of our cat, dog, fish, & small animal needs. If they don’t then they always try to order it for us! We love this store! They are a wonderful addition to Searcy!

We stopped in to kill time yesterday and I am so glad we did! The staff were so friendly and helpful. My kids were even able to pet several animals. It looked like they had a great selection of healthier option foods and supplements.

I am absolutely shocked at how a store that keeps and sells so many fish can advertise bettas in these tiny cups. Their corals were dead and nasty looking. Fish were skinny or dead. They don’t even offer live plants. Just teaching people a bad cycle of fish keeping in general with fake corals, fake plants, and a tiny cup of water for people to think that is okay to keep a fish in. This location has all the opportunity in the world to educate people about good fish keeping habits and instead they choose to torture fish and let people think this is how you keep a betta…The response from owner is a lie lol. One, you don’t even know who I am. Two no one approached us to ask for assistance. There were no bettas in the community tanks, and no there were not live plants for sale. Are you guys paying a Chinese company to reply to your reviews because that’s even worse than I thought?

Bought a hamster and oxbow wheel and went to take it back the oxbow wheel with receipt never used and said since it was 15 days past they would not exchange it or refund my money. They know nothing of what they’re doing, and they do not really stand behind their products or their word. You ask them questions and they can’t answer them, for they do not know anything about what they’re selling animals and all. I will not be back I will stay with their competitor fish bowl.

Every time I have been in that store, the wait time to check out is ridiculous. I was going to try to buy all my food there. That is not happening now. I'm usually in a hurry and don't have time to wait for complicated cash registers that are always locking up and so obviously cumbersome for the employees. And then I find out today that the only cat food that my senior cat can eat, Nulo Duck and Tuna, is no longer available at this pet store. Thanks for nothing!

Update:My babies are doing so much better, thanks to the help of the nutritionist. I will not go any where else. Best place in town for all your pet(babies) needs. Even has a nutritionist on staff to help you find the perfect feed for your baby.

Dropped off my Goldendoodle off at 9 am this morning to get groomed. Called at noon. Not done yet. Husband went to store at 2pm. Said they were almost done. At 3.10 she was finally done... six and 15 mins... really?? This is their idea of a winter cut. When I called the manager to inform her of my concerns, she made excuses for my doodle being shaved. Blamed me and said she was all matted up. Well no she was not! She had a nail trim, shampoo and comb out last week. Now she has a razor burn on her tummy. Read prior reviews, and note how they respond to complaints. I wanted to post a pic?? My beautiful Goldendoodle looks like a Short haired Lab.
