Very nice hike to the summit. Clearly marked trail, even when it becomes boulder steps. More area at the summit than expected. You can make this as difficult as you like by increasing pace, or go slow. I went up and back in under 30 minutes, but I can see going at a slower more leisurely pace and enjoy the surroundings. The park itself looks like a great place for a family outing or group gathering.

Pinnacle Mountain is so beautiful. Great place to hike, bike, enjoy nature and the view. Our family loves it here! Today we went hiking East Summit Trail and I only made it up 3/4 way because it was so steep and rocky but I had fun!

Nice park outside Little Rock that’s clean and has solid hiking. Climbing the mountain and the 360 views was fun yet challenging.

I'm not sure how well marked the trails are, but you would struggle to get lost.We went up the "easy" side and still found it pretty challenging for people who don't hike a lot.The view from the top of the Arkansas River was stellar.

I only got to spend half a day exploring this park, mostly driving through. Very nice place with modern facilities plus friendly people when I came across them. I did stop on 2 short trails with over looks.

Had so much fun. We went for the little.5 my loop after visiting the visitor center. The guidance is there. That had a playground as well so the kids had a blast. Most definitely recommend going there if you have young ones. It's a simple loop you get to see wildlife you get to see the water you get to see the greenery. And you get to go to a playground. They had some restrooms there as well.

The hike was not too bad but you definitely need to bring water and be able to step over and on large rocks. We had a great time.

My absolute favorite hiking spot! It's gorgeous and while sometimes it can be busy, everyone respects everyone else. It can be a bit of a moderate hike in some places, especially a few scrambles on the west side. The views alone are all worth it. Great place to take a pup too!Restrooms: Clean!Dog-friendliness: Everyone has their dog on a leash, and each dog owner is responsible in either keeping the dog away from you or if you'd like to pet them. Folks on the hike are kind if you have a pup too. They have water at the bottom of the mountain, but we personally bring our own

A very pretty park. Love the Arboretum Trail. Seems like an ideal park if a person was into hiking. The park rangers were friendly.

We also really enjoyed waking the paths in the Arksnsas Arboretum right up the road!Restrooms: Clean.Dog-friendliness: Dogs must be on a leash.Picnic area: Picnic takes and benches everywhere.

Clean & rugged area. The quarry area was blocked off. The state park closes 1 hour after sunset. All areas free to explore. Lots of cypress trees in los areas and scenic views higher up. I frequent this area and find it to never be crowded like many of the others in the state.

This was pretty intense, and we took the yellow path. There's a red, way more challenging path. Beautiful views, totally worth the climb. Make sure you bring water and have time to complete.

There are a lot of nice trails here. This is a beautiful state park. The people at the visitor center are really nice and you will find a lot of other hikers here to offer you advice along the way. Each trail is Walmart and very clean. I will give some recommendations on which hikes to do for each type of person that might come here.If you are inexperienced at hiking, or if you are in a wheelchair or want to be on a paved path instead of a rocky or dirt path, you can take the Rocky Valley Trail. There’s a nice view at the top and it’s easily accessible by the parking lot in the visitor center which may be easier for you to park in because the other parking lots are smaller. If you are a beginner hiker, you can take the bass trail, which is the green trail and hike as far as you want and then turn back and go back to your car. There is a few rocks on the ground but it’s mostly a dirt trail. If you want a little bit of an adventure, you could take the West Summit Trail, which is the yellow trail up to the top of the mountain. It only really gets difficult in the second half where you have to go up some stone steps or some rocks that are placed like steps. once you get to the top, it will all be worth it. I don’t expect it would be that much more difficult than taking a long big staircase. Then you can turn around and go back to your car. Finally, for an experienced hiker, you should park at the west summit entrance, and then use the base trail to go around the south side of the mountain to the east summit entrance, and then climb the mountain from the east and descend from the west. This is the red trail. Then your car will be right there waiting when you get done with the mountain. This took my wife and I exactly 4 hours and we are Relatively inexperienced hikers. It’s the most fun hike I’ve ever been on.

A nice, quiet walk (with a little fishing) on a weekday. That's why I'm easy. Base trail is always quiet and sufficient. The new Visitor Center is a site to the heart. It is absolutely beautiful. Located just passed the entrance to the old park. It is your tax money spent at its finest. Plus, Loblolly Creamery has a store here. It is just a cool place to visit.

A very strenuous hike but man the view was well worth it!! Took about 3 hours to get to the top and back down with the 2 of us. There's an 'easy' trail next to the hard one but their honestly about the same level of difficulty until you get almost to the summitRestrooms: There are none.Dog-friendliness: Definitely allowed but keep them on a leash

Beautiful. I've never taken the hard trail but the easier one is a piece of cake. Id say takes roughly 1hr 45 min for the average person to reach the top. I do wish It was easier to get to the edge when up there but hey, its beautiful. The bathrooms are clean and their is also a playground for kids. Plenty of grills and picnic tables also.Playground: Nice clean updated play area.Restrooms: Clean

Great state park. Well marked trails and a great visitors center. We parked in the West lot, took the Base Trail to the East Trailhead. Climbed the East summit and went down the West to end at our car. With 3 kids around 9 that all took about 3 hours.

We rented the Big Pavilion for a birthday party. It was very reasonably priced and you get the facility for the entire day! We had a great fire in the fireplace, plus there was a grill on the other end we could have used. The picnic tables were movable so we could arrange them as we needed. Great parking, a nearby playground, and a nearby bathroom rounded out this location. We'll definitely keep this in mind for another event soon!Playground: Playground was immediately next to the pavilion.Restrooms: Restrooms were a 1-minute walk from the pavilion.Picnic area: Great covered pavilion.

We had a great hike this morning with some good friends and beautiful views on the way up and at the top. Definitely worth the trip.Playground: Nice playground for kids who can't or don't want to make the hike.Restrooms: Restrooms were clean and accessible, all was as it should be.Dog-friendliness: Several dogs out hiking the trail. It was nice to see.Picnic area: A bus load of kids were able to have a picnic after their hike. I would say the picnic areas are more than sufficient.

This trail is not for inexperienced hikers. The trails begins fairly easy at the beginning and as you’re going up, you’ll need your hands to help you climb. I didn’t get bit by any bugs, although I saw a green poisonous snake. Luckily the other hikers warned me before I was about to step on the snake. When you’ve climbed your way to the very top, a fantastic view awaits you. Make sure to wear appropriate shoes, bring loads of water and snacks. I loved this trail and you will as well!!

We were very surprised upon our arrival at the size of this park, but really enjoyed our visit. The park ranger advised us that the West side summit trail was a little easier and not as steep. Nice park store, and we enjoyed our hike to the overlook area of the River. We were excited to see that the 223 mile Ouachita Trailhead is located here. Don't think it is an easy 1.5 mile hike up the mountain! It's very rough and you are climbing straight up and over HUGE boulders through at least a mile of the trail. It's very worth it once you get to the top, but we seen several dogs loosing their footing sliding down the rocks, and a couple of people in flip flops falling. It's important to bring PLENTY of water, and proper shoes! I know that my picture of the rocks looks flat, but that's looking almost at a straight up incline that you are climbing up to the summit!

They had plenty of picnic tables but you have to arrive early during holidays or weekends to get a good spot and parking. Took the west summit trail (which allegedly is the easier trail) but since I don’t hike, it was far from “easy”. Once you get on top, you forget the pain you just endured because the view is so worth it.

Pinnacle Mountain State Park is an exquisite jewel in Central AR and is a short drive (and more importantly just an hour + - bike ride) from downtown Little Rock and other neighborhoods. In addition to the crown jewel of the park, Pinnacle Mountain, there are two smaller mountains adjacent to Pinnacle, Thanks to the generosity of members of the Walton family and planning by Arkansas State Parks staff each of those mountains now have miles of well marked hike/bike trails featuring various skill levels from the beginner to full tilt pro. In addition, there are boats and kayaks available for rent nearby on the Arkansas River. Don't get in that river without a life vest. Undertows on that river are deadly. Love the park, Stay Safe in the water. State Parks also recently completed construction of a new beautiful Visitor Center. While there ask for information on another beautiful mountain area nearby - Rattle Snake Ridge. Perfect for a return visit.Playground: Beautiful playground spaces are located at the base of the mountain. Spaces are pet friendly.Restrooms: Restrooms are available and well attended.Dog-friendliness: Spaces are dog friendly and pets need to be friendly and owners must be responsible for their pets.

Bathrooms were exceptionally clean! Lovely place for fishing and a picnic. We only caught a few fish but it's early spring so maybe we'll have better luck later!

We went on the West Summit trail and hiked on a clear day! Very steep at the top with lots of rocks. I highly recommend wearing hiking boots and be careful with leaves on rocks as they are slick. I almost slipped! Overall took about 1.5 hours for us. Worth the view!
