We came by Tuesday, too late for lunch..food was all gone! Went by again today, early!! Offerings for todays plate lunch was smoked chicken, hamburger steak or Spaghetti. Choose 3 sides..all for $10.95. Oh my goodness! The sides were excellent and the smoked chicken was very good. We ordered the greens, squash and Italian green beans. All were deliciously seasoned. We'll be back!

Traveling through and stopped by for late lunch on Friday June 30. Sadly we were told they were out of all the plate lunch’s so wife ordered the cheeseburger and I ordered the double cheeseburger. The chef smiled and said you must be hungry. When she brought out the burgers I seen what she meant, the double was huge. Both burgers were fresh cooked, seasoned well with fresh lettuce onions and tomatoes, crispy bacon, sooo good. I’m sure I don’t have to tell locals but to all others this is a must stop when traveling by.

I love the history behind this place and the atmosphere. The food is seasoned to perfection and the portions are just the perfect size. The price was comfortable on my pocket book as well. $24 for two people for food that isn't fast food fried boredom is rare. Give this place a try. Easy access on your way to or from the gulf if you live in Arkansas. It's well worth a visit!

It was an old country store. Fairly good burger. The ladies sort of ignored us at first. Then, the lady in charge came and took our order. When I was ready to pay her, hilariously, she goes, "You pay over THERE!" (as if I was not very smart). And she pointed to an empty counter. It was an experience, for sure. I'm about as country as they come, but this place was like something out of a novel. Lol. If you're hungry and want a quality burger that's filling, you won't be disappointed. Just be prepared to be entertained by the local attitudes. Heh.

This is a very cool old country store and restaurant.The pie was wonderful and they also sell frozen beef from a local farm, it was very good.Thank you for the treat!

Great spot, just off the highway.We stopped in for lunch and were amazed at the food and friendly people.It is a literal time machine for traditional American comfort food. My selections: fried pork chop, turnip greens, rice and gravy, squash dressing with cranberry sauce, cornbread and coconut pie.Seriously, amazingly delicious food and super nice people!!

My husband loved everything, especially the fried livers. I have a food allergy which precludes nearly everything on the menu. They were very gracious in working out something I could eat. Highly recommend.

We were leaving Hot Springs heading back to New Orleans and Subway just wouldn’t cut it for our lunch pitstop! We were greeted with friendly smiles and the lunch menu was insane. Fried chicken, rice&gravy, green beans, and a buttery roll. I loved seeing so many locals at “their spot” and looking through the gift shop. Definitely a hidden gem and worth the stop!

At lunch you can choose one entree from several delicious offerings plus two, three or four sides for a price you can't beat. Their fried chicken is my fav, but everything is scrumptious. I always have a hard time choosing sides but don't miss the famous squash dressing. Service can't be beat. Go soon!

Simple diner and shop with wonderfully friendly folks.I had the fried chicken livers and they were done perfectly. I had the Texas toast.... OMG, it is just toast with butter and was so simple but so amazing. I let my wife try a bite and yes, you guessed it, I didn't get the rest of that piece back.We shared a piece of chocolate pie and it was fantastic as well

This restaurant and store has a lot of neat history behind it! While visiting Dumas, Arkansas - my buddies took me here for a delicious lunch one day. Wow, talk about delicious, southern cooking!! The food here was absolutely scrumptious, and the staff provided excellent, table service!! I hope to visit here again someday when I come back through Dumas, Arkansas.

PULL OVER ON YOUR MAD DASH TRIP TO THE OCEAN. Its right off the highway a block or two. You must eat here...have pie...buy a t-shirt..enjoy the relaxed nostalgia back in time. Check their time schedule. Friendly folks! Good comfort home cooking food!
