Wow! What a surprising but amazing hamburger. It was so delicious. There are a few places I love to go to for hamburgers in Arkansas, and this has made the top 3. Thank you for the wonderful meal. I loved sitting outside as we had our pet with us. It was extremely comfortable. The fried pie we took with us was as delicious later with coffee.

This little store in Arkansas Ozarks serves great burgers, sandwiches and the most delicious homemade pies ever! It is well with the drive from wherever you may be. And it’s a very scenic drive through the mountains. It’s housed in a charming old gas/grocery store complete with dogs on the front porch and you can smell the burgers grilling out back. It was a fun day trip for us and I wish I’d bought a whole pie to take home. I can highly recommend the Apple Crumb Pie and the bacon cheeseburger .

Wish I could give more than 5 stars! Possibly the hardest working restaurant staff I've ever seen. To say they were busy would be an understatement as they were serving appropriately 200 people at the time I was there. I was assured by a very friendly regular that the burger and pies were worth the wait and they did not disappoint. One of the best burgers I've ever had and the peanut butter pie was amazing! Place operates like a well oiled machine. Will definitely be returning anytime I am in the Ozarks!!

Hands down the best place in Arkansas!! We love coming here because the staff is as great as the food.I posted a picture in Explore Arkansas and there was an overwhelming response from the people. 5.8K likes 600 comments (ALL POSITIVE) and almost 1,000 shares. It brought me to tears to read how special this place and the people are to this state. I wanted the owner to see the response from the people. So please if you have time check out the comments on Explore Arkansas. Thank you for providing a great experience along with the best food in the state!

Don’t miss breakfast at the General Store. The biscuits are to die for and it’s nice and warm by the heater. Locals will pour you a cup sometimes. The oldest store In Arkansas apparently. Neat!

Hop on the “Pig Trail” at I-40 and AR 23. Head north. The Workman’s Travel Center is on your right. Your last chance for gas and a bio-break until Oark Store. Just north of Cass, catch the AR 215 east. This drive is a biker or sports car enthusiast’s candy, culminating with a delicious juicy hamburger and greasy fries served up at the rustic Oark Store. This little store is the oldest operating general store in Arkansas. The “Angry Hornet Burger” is recommended. Save room for pie and ice cream. Retrace the drive west on AR 215 back to the “Pig Trail” and head north to Fayetteville. Enjoy the curves! For other reviews laced with superfluous, time-wasting inessential information, sarcastic diatribe and subjective opinion, follow Spike S. on Yelp and Spike Speedwell on Google

Oark Bacon Cheeseburger + hand-cut fries worth a 2 hour drive? Absolutely! And the homemade Coconut Cream Pie, right out of the oven is kinda world famous. We met people from Kansas City, St. Louis, Texarkana, Illinois and Nebraska. Everyone there was raving about the pie they had too. Can't go wrong with Pecan, Blueberry or Chocolate according to the crowd. They've been around since 1890, so I assume they know what they're doing. And the drive, especially during leaf peeping season is well worth it. And the staff could not have been friendly and the service was quick.

Oark General Store is the oldest store in the state that's still in operation. They have some of the best burgers (if not THE best). And the Pecan Pie--awesome! The folks are friendly, and the service is great. We got there as they were about to shut down the grill on a slow day, and they were still happy to make our burgers. The outdoor dining pavilion is pet friendly, too.

We stopped here last week and enjoyed a delicious lunch. I have heard friends just raving about how good the food is and the is the second time I’ve been here. The first time we caught it at closing had enjoyed a piece of pie. But this time we had a burger and whatever my girlfriend had (Shown in photo) but it was amazing. The burgers were perfectly cooked and the fries were spot on. We didn’t have an actual plan to stop here but my oh my it was worth it. They stayed on top of the refills and there are enough things to buy there for any traveler. But the food will have you coming back. The next time we are in the area… totally stopping here again. Fantastic place. Feels some homelike.

Hands down the best patty melt and pie I have ever had in my life. The staff were great and the atmosphere was super cozy. The history behind the Oark Cafe is very cool too. I highly recommend a scenic drive to the historic & nationally recognized Oark Cafe! A must do in Arkansas for sure. I will be back many times!

Best Place Ever for a nice fall drive. Driving down from Harrison it was a beautiful Day. We are very accustomed to winding roads and it just adds to the charm of living in Arkansas. The cafe is just a subtle reminder of all the wonderful places like this we enjoyed growing up. The Hamburgers were great so were the people working there. We'll be back soon.

What a cool place! Great place to stop and eat if you're out exploring Arkansas. It's rustic and charming. The burgers are made fresh and are big, juicy and delicious!! The staff is very nice and quick to cut up with you. There is tshirts and trinkets if you're wanting a souvenir. It's just a really great spot to pullover and hang out for a few.

Its hard to get to this place up a very high winding hill/mtn road so DO NOT plan on going up or down during dark hours as it can be treacherous. I arrived at 11 am and it was almost full but I did get a seat. By 11:30 people were waiting or eating outside, which is okay on a nice day. This place has a nice laid back vibe - casual attire, like hunting, etc. NoMenu is limited but would satisfy most people. I had the Angry Hornet which is a cheeseburger with raw jalapenos bell peppers, etc on top of a nicely cooked burger with light crust to give it some crunch and still juicy inside - just like I like mine. French fries come with almost everything so you can't order just a burger. Pies are big and displayed in a nice case. Order, get your table, and wait because it does take a little while. Strangers will sit together here because of the limited table space and most everyone seemed friendly and hospitable. I think most people would enjoy this unless you are super fussy.

Don't pass this little gem. Traveling the Pig Trail you wouldn't pass this spot. Seek it out. Turn off on the 215.Turn left at the 103 not right. You would never stop if you were driving by. Believe me you want to stop. Awesome staff, great burgers. Corner store has been open since the early 1800's.

This place is authentically Ozark. If you are in the area, and when I say "in area" I'm talking within 150 +/- miles, turn your motorcycle/car/truck and head to this café. The food is phenomenal, the atmosphere is perfect, and the people are second to none. This is exactly the place that should be at the top of everyone's list when good eating in the Ozarks comes up. The pecan pie is worth the trip right now!
