Location, if you want to endure the tourist trap of crater of diamonds, is great. Other than that, terrible. Bathrooms are absolutely gross. Camp sites are tiny. We rented the mini cabin and there was duct tape around the door frame and on the floor with light shining through it. Smelled extremely strong of flowery cleaner. We left and payed $200 for a hotel just not to stay there.Safety: I've traveled all over the world and this was a definite "No" for sleeping here, not a safe setting.

The only good thing about this place is the location and price, but you get what you pay for. It's a dump. Very disappointing, the pictures on their website must have been taken many, many years ago, because it is so run down now. Trash/food in firepit, old, broken down campers with tarps on them, lots of cars in and out that weren't staying/living there and the bathrooms were disgusting. Mostly long term campers that had apparently been there a very long time. Would not recommend to anyone, especially if your traveling with kids.

Booked late so my son and I could go to Crater of Diamonds State Park. Very close to park is a plus. We camped one night in a tent. That was fine. If you are looking for anything else, stay away. Bathroom was filthy and smelled like mold. No lock on the one toilet in men’s room. No working light except in shower so you have to leave door open to see. Shower was nasty too. I skipped a shower and used bathroom at state park while I was there. Not recommend. Next time I will plan earlier and get a better place.

No staff in the office, no one really to welcome us, we were left to defend for ourselves. Overall I think past negative reviews are possibly not accurate, the cabin was cozy and a place to lay your head. It was a little primitive and run down, but what do you expect when you’re camping, hopefully not the Ritz Carlton. I would stay here again.

We had a good time. I think the upkeep of cleanliness could be better but that's kind of up to the customers as well. We brought a toddler and two teens and tent camped. Miss Susan Martin you truly made us feel so welcome! Thanks for teaching us some new things about anything from life to digging!! The shower house is better than other camps I've stayed in🙂 only thing I didn't like was that it's a dry county 😅

1st vacation in over 15 years and I chose Miners Campung to stay at. I loved it there!!! It’s quite, peaceful,& very close to the Crater of Diamonds. The people who stay there on a more permanent basis are friendly. The staff I talked to were friendly as well. I would definitely stay here again. Love ❤️

IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN DO NOT STAY HERE!My family and I stayed two nights at first it was amazing!Small cabin, needed a couple air fresheners and a quick clean up but no big deal. There is a small playset and gazebo no more than 30ft from the cabin which was great because our kids could play and we could see and hear them it felt very safe. The local resident kids were all playing and everything seemed fine, until one of the kids who live there informed me that his little brother was talking about "Private areas" and had groped our 8 year old son by play set.I was infuriated! I had to tell the small boy he needed to leave us alone and he could not talk to or play with our kids, because what he did was wrong, and I needed to protect my children. I saw not one local parent. I heard not one local parent. The only reason we stayed was because there were other family's with small children and it didn't feel right to just leave and not warn other parents. We were however gone first thing in the morning! If it were just me and my husband it would have been 5 stars! We would have been back every chance we got!But I can't take back what happened to my son, and I pray to God he can forget the whole situation. Even though I know he will most likely always remember it.

This has got to be one of the best places to stay. If you enjoy being close to the Diamond mine and like the feel of camping while not being in a tent this is the place you have got to come to. The cabin we stayed in was clean and warm and cozy. Rustic Cabin One was such a cool little place. There are plenty of spaces for campers The people here are really friendly and helpful, especially if you have no clue as to what your doing when it comes to digging for stones. The other people here were also extremely helpful and nice. This is a place I will come back to again and again! We wanted to stay an extra night but couldn't because it was already booked for the next night.I would say come here and come again because you can't beat it. My teenager says it gets 10 startsIf you want some fun with a dose of quite and feel safe while your in the middle of nowhere. This is the place for you.We will be back and hopefully soon.Thank you Bob for all your help you were really fantastic, To the really super man from Mich. thank you for telling us about the other places to go see and again thank you for sharing your treasures with us.

The price was nice and didn't kill the pocket book. The place could use cleaning up, especially the shower house/bathroom. I had to use the men's. But we would stay again, we can rough it. Had neighbors show up while we were out sight seeing and they helped themselves to our chairs, lighter fluid, Weiner sticks.. wasn't like the spot looked abandoned. We did exchange some words to the effect of....always ask fbefors you borrow people's things.

The overall camping experience was average. The cabin floorboards sank and didn't have support towards the middle. The freezer was very dirty and there was spiderwebs all around the cabin. The bed in the cabin was very comfortable. The bathrooms were alright as far as camp bathrooms go. The lights in the bathroom worked well, the water pressure was good, there was a shower, and the bathroom was quite a bit warmer than outside which was great when it was cold at night. The campgrounds for tents were very flat and there were not many rocks.

This a rustic place with primitive camping. It isn't built up and overpriced. It is geared towards getting the job done simply. Best suited for adventurers, crystal or diamond hunters, or couples on the road. Not really set up for kids, more of a miner's camp like it says. One community bath house. Very rustic. Full time renters live here and are mostly really friendly. One guy collects crystals locally and has bottom dollar prices on local finds. Just don't expect too much and you won't be let down. It is basic.

This was a typical rustic cabin. Air was on for us when we arrived, we supplied our own bedding (sheets blankets pillows). This is a bed microwave and a mini fridge. There were places to have a fire. A water supply and picnic table at each cabin. The down side was; all the old campers around cabin 1 on one side of road the bath house was on other side and less than desirable moldy with one shower one toilet. If you get cabin 3 its twice as big or more than 1 and one the side with bath house and nicer area. It wouldn't be bad but looks like some people are living there and not trying to keep it up. The site personel were friendly and helpful. Loved it we stayed in 1 and 3 other than ruff campers and bath house it was as expected.

Decent campground with ample space for each site. We had one tent and four hammocks and had PLENTY of room. Very affordable. Pet friendly and super laid back. My only complaint is that there is only one bathroom with a shower for each sex. The shower has a shower curtain and the bathroom is in a separate stall but all the ladies insist on locking the door so you are forced to wait to have your morning pee while Suzy q over there takes an hour and a half to get all gussied up so she can go search for diamonds in the sweltering heat.

When we arrived to the cabin . A man came up ,and asked us what are we doing. We told him that we are looking to check in to our cabin. He pointed to the cabin that we were going to stay at. We asked him do you need to see our ID he said NO your good to go to the cabin 😬 So me think basically Jane doe could show up ,and say that she here to stay in the cabin that she had booked that’s scary🤦🏼‍♀️The door was wide open and the lights were on .The facility was run down poor maintenance. The door was wide open so basically any one could just walk right in even the critters. We went in to look at the inside. It had a bad smell 🤢 .Definitely not clean! Once you pay it’s non refundable 😡 $100.00 down the drain . Just a FYI don’t always believe what you see online .Thank goodness we found a better place to stay !!

I was looking for a truly quaint environment and nice people. Miner's camping and rock shop is exactly what I wanted. It is very simple, quiet and close to Crater of Diamonds. It is under priced for what it offers. The bed in the cabin is magnificent, best sleep I have had in years. I never expected to find a comfortable bed.The rock shop is FUN! If you like interesting finds without digging for hours; this shop is it. Very reasonable prices and some very unique finds.I recommend this camp ground to any adult looking to get away from hustle, bustle and noise of the city. It is perfection.

I came here last min, I was going to stay one night a booked a small cabin for $35 the owner was really nice and we got set up. I later received a call that my husbands brother was dying for a work related accident, I ran to the office to turn in the key and leave. The owner came and found us an decided he wanted to refund us our money back in cash ( I paid with my card) and said I’m sorry to hear that, we didn’t get a chance to stay the night but It was very nice of him to do that I never wanted a refund I was in a hurry, but him knowing the right thing to do was a very nice gesture.

1 star only because the price I was quoted when I called and made reservations changed when I showed up to camp. Sure it's an RV park that's slightly sketchy and a bit run down . But it served it's purpose and we had a pretty decent time regardless. Had we not been charged $50 bucks to tent camp for a night. I woulda gave it 3 or 4 stars just for location and accessibly to crater of diamonds . 1 star for stingy fkn people . Won't be back & would not recommend if you have kids as there were a few strange guys that kept walking around staring at our kids .

Campsite was ok but not a lot of room between RVs. We seemed to be the only visitors and the rest were permanent campers. The owner, Joyce, was one of the most rude and hateful owners I’ve ever dealt with. We were very careful to be quiet and follow camp rules. I would try very hard to find another RV park to stay and use this as a last resort as it was not a good experience at all. I give it 2 stars because it had a cute little gazebo and pond with crawfish in it and my kids liked to hang out there when not hunting diamonds.

The people I spoke to were nice, but the park itself is scary and unkempt. Bathrooms/showers moldy and filthy. Trash left all over my site. Electric box didn't have a breaker, so had to use electric from next site. Mostly full time residents that seemed scary. I do not recommend at all.

This was booked by a lady on our Boy Scout Troop committee for Spring Break. The weather has been extremely wet this year, and we actually postponed our trip for a day to allow for some severe storms to pass before we went. Upon arriving, they attempted to place us in a spot that was down the road from the main camp area more in the woods off the road. The only bathrooms are in the main camp area, and this would have, we felt, been unsafe for our boys walking on an unlit road in the night if they should have to go to the bathroom. Upon backing the trailer into the spot and the rental van, the van sunk and became stuck. We got the van out and they then decided to move us to another location in the main camp (the place where we were going to go to begin with but they told us we couldn't because they had other campers coming in for that spot?) We got the trailer parked, but because it was only one spot on the side of a cabin, we determined it was just too wet, and not set up to be able to house all of us in a safe manner. The ground was extremely wet, and it also looked to have more severe storms expected that evening, so we knew this wouldn't be good because the ground was already saturated. The Scoutmaster's wife quickly researched other nearby accommodations, and we left the trailer and went to have a look after a quick phone call.We decided after we surveyed the other location that it would, under the circumstances, be the best choice to salvage our trip so that it wouldn't end in disaster. It turned out to be the best choice we could have made to keep our boys high and dry. When we were leaving 3 days later we looked at Miners Camp and it all looked to be very flooded. It's true, they have no control over the weather, but this is just not a good place for Boy Scout troops in our opinion.(also I agree with what others have said about the only set of bathrooms, they need to just be torn down and rebuilt. Not good at all. )

Our group tent camped for 5 nights and had a great stay. The camp host and employee we're helpful and friendly. Showers and bathrooms we're clean and always had t.p. There is a fairly busy road by the campground but it didn't cause us any problem, if you have small children it is something to be aware of.

This is absolutely the BEST place in Murfreesboro to get good diamond hunting advice. There are several permanent residents living here & what most people don't realize, because it isn't advertised, is most of them have found hundreds of diamonds & at least one famous diamond each. Just ask & they will be happy to give you information. The prices won't kill your pocketbook & it has all the basics, including free wi-fi. A true "miner's camp".

Have always had a great experience when we have stayed. Owners and help were very friendly and offered us to join their fish fry dinner. They also offered free wood to us when we were starting a fire.

If your looking for a nice cozy camping experience this is the place! We stayed in a cabin, enjoyed a fire every night, and the owner is super friendly. Perfect place if your like us and didn't want to be stuck in a hotel room. Right outside Crater of Diamonds entrance!

I called to reserve an RV spot since this camp is just .3 miles from the entrance, the gentleman took my name and said ok, no deposit or anything and thank goodness because this place was a mess!, we drove by before we entered and just kept going. The place is unkept. The obviously permanent campers living here have junk and trash everywhere. I would be afraid to leave my camper unattended. We checked with the state park and they had ample sites open even though the site said full, try your luck there.

Nice place to stay, very relaxed, and literally a walking distance away from the State Park. The only thing that was a little hiccup to get over was that there were no clearly defined tent-setup spots. It was a bit of a pick and choose kind of deal. Otherwise, no complaints whatsoever.

This campsite for tent camping was adequate. Truly needs updated bathrooms ( only has 1 stall) and shower (1 shower). It all looks like old upgrades would be appreciated.
