We came to town for the Diamond digging and went around the city. We came in for the real soda float and got a few different things. Super cute store. The blueberry muffin was soooo moist and delicious. The cream float was amazing. The chocolate sweet treat was soooo good! I also got a cone that was a classic. Great sweets would love to try some sandwiches.

Hands down without a doubt, I was served THE best chicken salad sandwiche I've ever eaten at Hawkins. This sandwich is served on a butter toasted honey wheatberry bread. It is to die for delicious. If I get a chance, I need to come back again before we leave town and try out some of the desserts that they had on display.In addition to this award winner of a sandwiche, they had other sandwiches to choose from in addition to ice cream and other treats.The store is full of fun things to look over.I'm glad we, by chance, found this place today.

The aptly named, Hawkins Variety Store, is a quaint little store in a historic downtown building with touristy nick nacks, camping and diamond hunting gear, toys, kitchen gadgets, specialty foods, novelty candy, ice cream and baked goods, and our favorite...the espresso coffee bar and sandwich shop.

I love our little home town variety store the building is historic and has been remodeled great place to stop and visit with the owners. Dewayne and franco are great people. You can also grab a sandwich or some ice cream and snacks. They have an awesome jewelry store also. Nice place to visit if you are in town. Lots of homemade jams jellies and canned goodies to take home and eat.

Amazing! Business owner is sweet, silly, and a hard worker! Our sandwiches were delicious, and the wheat bread with berries was totally to die for! There are TONS of flavors for lattes, and she uses Columbian roast so it's thick, rich, and easy on your tummy! Loved visiting.

Very cool old variety store with food and any kind of jam, jelly, pickles and different candies! They have some awesome milkshakes and food choices. Step back in time and make sure you visit while your in town for sure!

Came for coffee, ordered Latte it was ok not best like their display said. The store is over 100 year old but kept very well. So many varieties of candy and other Knick knacks. It served blue bell icecream too. Owner is a sweet lady and staff is friendly as well. We were passing by after visiting crater of diamond park. May stop by next time when we are in town.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to the Diamond Mine. I only wish they would stay open longer! They have cute and unique gifts, vintage toys, jams and jellies and syrups and honey, the best "real" ice cream, and many other old soda shop type drinks and treats! They even have a delicious food menu! Try the Nesbitt's Honey Lemonade! It is delicious!

A must-stop place! Feels like you travel back 70 years to the 1950s. Handmade delicious drinks & treats. We are so glad we stopped for snacks and drinks (coffee, milkshake, and cinnamon roll)... we stayed for an hour!

This was a fantastic stop; we had milkshakes, a cinnamon roll, and a pimento cheese sandwich with pickled jalapeños. Everything was delicious, and the historic aspect of the store was interesting. There is indeed much variety to be found here, and everything down to the music helped make this into the perfect stop. Would gladly visit here agin!

I was so excited to come check out this store. It's hours say they open at 10am and they didn't open until noon. We were going to get cinnamon rolls but they looked like they were made at least the day before.The kids toys are very cheaply made and broke within the first couple of minutes of the kids playing with them.

We actually visited the store twice in the two days we were in Mufreesboro. The staff was awesome. The first day we stopped, we bought a jar of Cinnamon Honey Butter. My SO now wishes we had bought at least two jars. 🤣 Seriously, it is AWESOME! To the store clerk/cook who said she'd never tried it, there you go. You should try it. 😉 We stopped by the next morning because the only other restaurant nearby that wasn't already serving lunch was closed due to their air conditioner shutting down. We had noticed the day before that Hawkins Variety served sandwiches, so we went in and asked if they were still serving breakfast, and, to our delight, they were. We asked for ham, bacon, American cheese, and egg on Sourdough bread and it was enough for two of us to split. The bread was fresh and it was perfectly cooked (though again, my SO said he wished he'd gotten a whole sandwich 😆).

Drove about 35 minutes from Millwood State Park. Absolutely loved the food. The pimento cheese, ham and cheese, as well as the desserts. Will definitely be back. Another plus, it's in the cutest downtown area.

Maybe it was an off day but we Picked up two iced lattes that were undrinkable. One was so super sweet my MIL almost spit it out and my wife’s was incredibly bitter and didn’t taste anything like what she ordered. They both had to throw them away. The lady working was pretty short and rude with them as well while ordering. I had a coke in a bottle that was good.

Stopped in to get ice cream. The vanilla looked more brown than white. When we attempted to order with the lady behind the counter, she pointed at the worker in the middle of the store. Apparently she was too busy to help paying customers. We went somewhere else.This is after the response from the owner. I know the difference between vanilla and Dr. Pepper float. Pick up window? I was talking to the person behind the counter, not the person on the floor. Oh well, none of us are happy.

A acquaint little Country storm. They have the best selection of candy for any young person to enjoy! They also have a variety of novelty items that are very interesting. It's nice having this kind of store in our community. It's a blast from the past in a way and is always tons of fun for the kids.

I had an ice cream cone, a good cuban sandwich and a good chicken salad sandwich. Nice staff and oh I had a chocolate chip cookie. It was good too.I recommend this store. I'm from North Carolina and like the small town atmosphere like where I was raised.
