First, while not for everyone the experience the park offers can be fun and maybe make you rich. The park is well maintained and there is a water park for the summer.I only visited the mineral park, so what's going on there. It's basically a three-tiered deep plowed field you dig in. Then you can sift through it dry or there is a wet pan area. There are rental tools or you can bring your own. The park has benches and a few picnic tables, so bring your own chairs, coolers, and tools to save money. We're adults, so it was fun for an hour or two, but it got old quickly. We saw families with young kids having a blast. I recommend it and we'll come back and bring the grandkids. Spend a few dollars to dream about living the American dream.

Fun place to spend the day. Go early and beat the heat. Be prepared. You will get a bit dirty. You can buy everything you need in town like dirt sifters, wagons, shovels, buckets, etc. I would suggest two buckets. One for hauling dirt and another one for what you have sifted through. You can bring home up to a five gallon bucket of sifted dirt to look through closely. A big hat to shade you along with sunscreen lotion is highly suggested. You are allowed to go in and return to your car. There are a lot of shaded picnic tables around the parking lot area. We went back to the car for a picnic lunch.Watch the how-to video before heading out to the diamond field. It will help.

I would suggest when visiting the crater to show up early or prepay for your visit, it's a very popular spot there will be a line to get in. Take your own tools, supplies, food and water. it gets a little pricey if you have to purchase or rent all of that. Be prepared to wait your turn at the sloths or find a spot down stream there isn't a lot of access to water to sift your finds. No I didn't find anything but I would absolutely recommend it for anyone with children over the age of 7 any younger and they may not enjoy the time there, and anyone that loves to see the amazing treasures this planet holds.

I love this place. People are friendly and everyone is there to find diamonds. Searching for diamonds is so much fun. You don't even have to bring equipment, they have plenty you can rent. I bought my own screens from the locals for $20.

If you enjoy digging in the dirt, Crater of Diamonds State Park is the place for you. The 38 acres of fields have been privately owned and mined for years before becoming an Arkansas state park in 1972.If you like to camp, the camping area is very nice and located close by. They also have a covered pavilion for picnicking and a small water park/pool in the summer. While Crater of Diamonds IS the only diamond mine in the world where you can keep any diamonds you find, the "reported" average is around 1 diamond found a day. So please keep in mind that your chances of finding a diamond are rare, but at least it's possible.

Such a great experience. Weather was great and the fun at the Crater was awesome. You can rent everything you need to search. Didn't find a keeper today but will come again.

Had a blast. Watching my girlfriend mine for diamonds. The funniest thing happened. Her little daughter came out of nowhere and blerts out. This is the biggest tourist trap in the world, and everyone busted out laughing. Including the woman behind us, where she stated truest is statement. I've heard all day, but that be and said. She is 8 years old. She doesn't understand that it is for the fun of it. a family activity to enjoy. It is a cheap family vacation. If you're looking to take one, I recommend it.

Everyone should go at least once for the experience. There is a lot of preparation and hard work involved if you want to actually mine for diamonds, or you can just surface hunt. There are some nice looking rocks/stones too that aren’t diamonds. We went on an afternoon after a heavy rain which was recommended for the best finds, but it was a muddy mess in my opinion. If I ever do decide to go back, I’ll pick a nicer day. It’s $13 a day for adults and $6 for kids 6-12.

Who doesn't like digging in the dirt! Dirty and fun time! Make sure you pack plenty of fluids (water, Powerade, etc) and snacks. Sadly, we didn't come home with diamonds and precious gems but we made some lasting memories.

The park itself is beautiful. Plenty of walking trails. Had some nice camping spots with a nice restroom with running hot and cold water.Looking at the rock fields looked kind of picked over. But people were still finding stuff.

This is one big field that has been tilled. The rows are about 2 feet wide. You can just walk around and look or you can bring your own or rent digging equipment. They have wash stations so you can sift your sand. It is a fun place to take the kids and spend a day outdoirs.

Cool state park. We did the diamond mining which was worth doing once (you can rent tools there). They have a little water park next to the mining. We drove thru the campground and it looked really nice. Full hook ups, nice pad with picnic table. Looks big rig friendly. The check in for the campground is at their discovery center, so rvs have to do this tight round about, which I would not have been thrilled about for larger rigs.

Great time with the family, we did not come away any richer (monetarily). Be prepared, sun screen, hats, waterproof shoes are kind of a must as there is little shade and the sun can be brutal. Also, they can run low on equipment for rent so consider renting in town before you get here.

Beautiful park and the diamond mining was a great experience! Entrance and tool rentals are priced very reasonably. Park staff is friendly and helpful! Clean, well-stocked restrooms. Nice covered wash areas in the fields. Several benches to stop and rest. Lots of information and educational materials.Definitely want to go back in cooler weather.

Definitely a unique experience! We added this as a stop on our roadtrip. It was fun for our whole family. Prepare to get dirty! We brought some supplies but they do have plenty of rental equipment for your hunt. Someone is on site to help identify your rocks and gems, too. The water play area wasn't open when we were there but it looked well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall a fun and worthwhile visit. There is a small town nearby, but not many food options so be prepared.

One of the most unique experiences you’ll ever do. Great for family outings. Spend a few hours, day, or stay overnight. Best to visit during the week vs weekend or certain holidays. Starting around mid April temperatures only get warmer and humidity higher and can last until September.Recommend booking a site for RV or tent camping. Clean and well maintained state park and campgrounds. Clean restrooms and showers.Friendly and professional staff to help give you the best experience in diamond hunting. You can rent the equipment or bring your own (small shovel, bucket(s), and sifters). Suggest comfortable shoes, hat, sunscreen, water, and patience.Restrooms onsite. Dogs are welcomed.
