We love coming here! The staff is always friendly and helpful. They where kind and patient when my youngest was unsure about riding the horse at first. Thanks to their help we got to make wonderful memories and he enjoyed every moment! Fun for all ages!

We were looking for something different to do and came across this petting zoo called Barnyard Friends & Stables. My Dad and I had a great time here petting the animals! We will definitely be back to ride horses. The owner and workers were extremely friendly. Fun place!

I recently visited this place and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, the friendly staff made us feel right at home.The owner was so kind and helpful. My kids had so much fun.The horseback riding experience was top-notch. The horses were well-trained and gentle, perfect for both beginners and experienced riders. The scenic trails offered breathtaking views, making every moment unforgettable.But the real highlight of our visit was the petting zoo. It was like stepping into a storybook filled with adorable animals. From fluffy bunnies to playful pups, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to educate us about each animal, making the experience both fun and educational.The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and safety precautions were clearly prioritized. Families can rest assured that their little ones are in good hands here.Overall, I cannot recommend this place enough. It's the perfect destination for a day of family fun and adventure. With its perfect blend of excitement and cuteness, it's truly a 10 out of 10 experience! We can't wait to visit again soon.

We got there at 3:02 pm. We had JUST missed the horseback rides, which is why we went. I feel like they put the horses up too early and would make more money (and more people happy) by staying open later. However, we paid $5 per person to walk through the barn. We got to feed, pet, and play with the animals. The calf.... oh my goodness! I'm not a country girl by any means so I wasn't touching or feeding the animals, but that calf! It was so precious! We also tossed footballs around for about 30 mins. It was fun to be a kid again, even if only for an hour.

We did the 30 minute ride and it was fun! The owner and the people that work there were great and friendly! The horses and other animals are very well taken care of! Really enjoyed our experiance there and would definitely recommend!

My family and I were visiting from Texas and wanted to do something for the little kids so we found this place on google! Saw the reviews and thought it was good! It has come to my conclusion these people who write the reviews are either lying or something is in it for them. Because if I could give this place zero stars I would. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Being from south Texas and live on a few acres I see plenty of farm animals near me. When I tell you the animals looked terrible mistreated. I mean it. Goats limping everywhere. Sheep’s with no hair or matted fur. Under weight horses. I mean it was terrible. But you really make matters “better” the woman who “greeted” us WAS SO RUDE. We asked her about the horse riding that IS POSTED ON THE WEBSITE AND SIGN and she looked at my husband and I in horror “no you can’t. You have to make reservations” okay completely understand we just said “oh okay” then she KEEPS going on about “no absolutely not. And your kids are too little anyways” then later proceeds to put kids their size on the horse. Then as we walked through she decided to make to comment in a rude demanding tone “DONT TOUCH THE TABLE ITS FOR THE BIRTHDAY PARTY” okay rude much? (As with how much money they are bringing since this petting zoo is on THEIR property you think they could afford more seating than 1 picnic table and 2 plastic chairs from Walmart) Then we see they have a huge slide and we were interested in that she then proceeds to tell us “it’s $4 per slide and also another $4 per rider”. These “owners” most likely have their children working for them since I see this woman hasn’t been fired for how terrible she treats paying customers but has a job that deals with little kids and talks to them how ever she wants. These owners seem to be money hungry and put zero to no effort in their property or their animals. SAVE YOUR MONEY GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

It was my daughter's first horse back ride. Helen the barn owner was very sweet guiding us through the whole process and she even walked the trail with us. We loved the whole barn with friendly well cared animals, dogs and horses. I would recommend this place for families with young kids and older ones who enjoy animals/horse back rides. The horses we ride Cindy and dolly were really sweethearts, gentle gaints❤️.

Really nice pet zoo for kids, we were visiting the state park from Texas but it was nice to find this place, their prices are really good for this activity and they have a big variety of animals. My kid really loved visiting this place and being able to see all this animals closer. They not only have this service, they have horses to tour the park too, next time we visit we are definitely coming back to do this activity.

My friend brought me here and I loved it! The horses were well taken care of and our guide was amazing! She was sweet and made the trail ride so much fun. Definitely a place I would recommend to try!

I have been going here for 6 years now for my birthday. Might seem silly for an adult but I seriously love animals. My yearly birthday trip gives me the opportunity to pretend I have a petting zoo of my own. We always enjoy our visit with the animals. The owner has always been very kind to us. We've brought home 2 kittens over the years from Barnyard Friends that were perfect additions to our family. Yes she will let you adopt kittens when she has some.I do hope that dog owners on the mountain will keep their dogs contained, due to the horrible event of a local dog being allowed to roam free, so that no more animals at the petting zoo are killed by those dogs.

Ms. Helen was great. The animals are very well cared for, calm and accustomed to being around children. There's a small pasture for kids to take a pony ride. Great, cheap, experience for the whole family; we will definitely be back.

A wonderful experience, thanks to Lady Belle and my trail guide/owner, Helen (I believe were the names). Thank you for making my day! We took a 30 minute ride, the price was affordable $21. Highly recommend if you’re near Petit Jean State Park.

I wanted so badly to give this place all the stars. Upon arriving we were greeted by a young man and an older woman. They both were very kind, informative, smiling, and very welcoming. It was me and 4 young girls for a birthday celebration for my daughters 13th birthday. Saying this because it was a very special occasion. We were introduced to the guide (lexi). Right out of the gate she was rude and had a horrible attitude. She was not very welcoming, kind, or friendly. We had a couple riders that have not ridden before and she did not educate them very thoroughly upon the start of the ride. Throughout the ride she didn't say one positive word. If she wasn't complaining, repremanding, or being rude she didn't say a word. One of our guests was trying to learn and control the horse. The guide continued to yell, and discourage her and demanding a "yes ma'am" after instruction of how to get the horse to move left and right. It was very disheartening to see her treat our guest rider this way. She is a young girl who needs to be built up not torn down. I've never in my life had such a rude and unfriendly guide. Her attitude made it not a pleasant birthday celebration.Bragging on the owner! She was so kind, full of smiles, understanding, and genuine. I did not want to leave a bad review because of her generosity but I felt like it needed to be said. I ended up tipping the owner instead of the guide because of these reasons. I wish I could leave a better review.

This is a great place to go trail riding. The horses are gentle and docile, great with my 10 year old child. Barnyard had plenty of great animals. We will be back for sure.

We have been here twice and each visit has been a great family experience. The staff are kind and helpful. Our kids enjoyed every second of animal play and playing on the play area. Our family will be back for more fun!

Family of four- 2 adults and 2 kids. Booked online and paid for a 50 min ride. We arrive and the lady tells us they are only doing 30 min rides due to wet ground. She saw we were disappointed so very reluctantly offered to do the thirty min ride twice, which we were pleased to do. My 8 yr old was right behind the guide- a young lady. My daughter’s horse slightly went off the trail twice and both times the guide berated my daughter for not pulling the reigns hard enough. On the second time she looked back at the rest of the group and said, “THIS IS WHY WE TRIED TO GET YALL TO DO THE 30 min RIDE.” She was a total grouch. Not friendly at all. Very rude. After the ride was over she got off her horse and walked off. No “thank you” “hope you had a good time” nothing. The older lady was kind and helped us all off but we will not be back. Save your money and go somewhere else where they are friendly.

I would absolutely recommend Barnyard Friends & Stables. We did a 50 minute trail ride and spent some time with the animals. Mrs. Helen was very welcoming and knowledgeable! We were the only ones there at the time so we had the animals all to ourselves. Missy Moo the calf was so sweet, as well as Joy the goat, the puppies, and all the other animals.

The people are so friendly, they treat you like family! The kids all love feeding the animals, especially the babies. The horse back riding is great, real gentle horses! If you love the outdoors animals, horseback riding, this is the place for you!

Our whole family loves this place. We probably go every year. Our school has even taken a group of kids during fall time and Christmas time. It’s small but such a fun place. Very very friendly people and animals 😊

Lots of fun. The owners are exceptionally nice. We had a pleasant trail ride through the woods. We didn't have children with us, but we had a great time petting all the animals. This will now be part of our routine whenever we visit Petit Jean.
