These days it is difficult to get congeniality AND excellence at the same office!! This office is the best in both and bend over backward to accommodate your needs. Hell I'd give ZERO stars if I could. I took my cat in April 4th for skin irritation, Dr Hughes only checked for ear mites & fleas. He then gave her 2 injections, one being "Convenia" Saturday 6th, she threw up so much food, 6th-7th it was all bile. She was not eating or drinking anything. 9th I called to explain her condition, he gave appetite supplements, 2 doses. 9th-10th, she kept having seizures, about 10/night. I was even using syringes to feed/water her.She passed away today, April 10th.-He was definitely informed about her vomiting. When I spoke to him yesterday, I said she hadn't eaten since Saturday, was lethargic, and was vomiting Saturday through monday. I didn't leave anything out. Her seizures started yesterday after the 2nd medication I was given to give her.

We took our 4 year old Lab mix here to have her keg looked at. She had a bad limp and it was just her long toe nails and he cut them and was nice and gentle with her. We will be making the drive from Alexander for both our dogs when needed again.

We live in Hot Springs and use a local vet for our normal vet needs but recently needed an animal hospital. First for our pot belly pig to be spade, and then most recently for our Doberman puppy to have his ears cropped. Dr.Hughes and his staff are excellent! They are great with communicating with you while your pet is there- they are knowledgeable and welcome questions. I highly recommend them for any animal surgical needs.Edited to add- our Dobermans ears have turned out absolutely amazing, with only 6 weeks of wrapping on and off, they're done and we've gotten ton of compliments on them.

My Yourky was ran over and he had a good possibility of making it. They did everything possible. We had to put him to sleep.Without Dr. Hughes and his team Charlie had no chance. They really did do all that they could. Thank you Dr. Hughes and all your employees.

The entire staff is amazing. We have been to Hughes several times for various visits. Whether it’s a scheduled visit or emergency, our animals are always treated with the best care. On our last visit we had an emergency and they got our pup in immediately. She is doing great! Leto and the rest of the herd says “thank you”!!!

They are ALL very nice! The lobby is filled with cool things to look at...while you wait for your dog to come through those doors! They took such good care of my rescue pet/ companion animal!!! I think it's a great place!

I had gone to a different location before stumbling across Dr. Hughes facility. The previous location frustrated me, because I had brought my animals there for regular vaccinations and to be neutered, but when my 8 year old pitbull had gotten attacked by another dog bad, bloodied all over his face, ears, chest and legs, and I called and explained what happened and get him checked for stitches or any serious problems, they treated my old man like he was a "vicious" dog and going to attack. The vet tech and vet at this other location were terrified of my pit and I was there with my 2 year old daughter. That put a bad taste in my mouth, because of all places a veterinary clinic should not be judgmental, because they should know it's how breeds are raised. I've meet chihuahuas that are absolute terrors and Ankle biters. I've owed quite a number of pits and rescued some and see why they are the "nanny" dogs. Anyways, after that visit I said I will never return to that clinic.I found Hughes Animal Hospital searching vet clinics nearby and surrounding and really paying attention in the reviews, ratings, and number of ratings. I just got a new puppy Akita and needed to get him started on his puppy vaccinations and decided to try Dr. Hughes out and didn't realize he was right around the corner from me. When I arrived for Atlas's first appointment back in February I was immediately impressed with how nicely and clean the hospital was put together and how nice the front staff was. Dr. Hughes is such a nice person and very knowledgeable, not a lot of people around here know of Akitas and their nature. Each visit he was thorough and Atlas always loved coming.Fast forward to today, Atlas had been having a decrease in appetite the past few days and it concerned me because this hasn't happened before and Akitas can be prone to serious stomach problems, so I would have rather been safe than sorry. I emailed last night hoping someone would respond since it was after hours and hoping they could squeeze Atlas in. They sure could and did a thorough check and we got a clean bill of health and made me love Dr. Hughes and his animal hospital and staff even more. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic and Dr. Hughes, he and his team are amazing.

This was our first time here but it won’t be the last. Front office ladies were so sweet and nice. The Doctor and his assistants were all very knowledgeable and nice. And I watched a staff member sanitize the room after the pet patient before us left. She did an incredible job. I was very impressed. Love the staff at Hughes. They’re so friendly, and they’ll explain what’s going on where it’s easy for you to understand. A bit pricey but not super expensive! We come here for all our vaccines, surgeries, and sicknesses.

Dr Hughes and his staff are amazing saw us on a Saturday our kitten 2.13 lbs got stepped on by our 65 lb dog but thank goodness it was just brused leg worked us in and very reasonable priced! Won't take Misty Gray anywhere else.
