I gotta say, this place is a hidden gem!! We have lived in Greenwood for 22 years and had no idea about this place, so let me say it loud enough for those in the back, "WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!" We will most definitely be back as well! We loved everything about it! Everything was clean, inviting, our waitress was super friendly, the food tasted AMAZING, the sweet tea was on point, the prices were FANTASTIC & I lived seeing a lot of locals coming in and meeting up for dinner and catching up with old friends & neighbors. Everyone was talking to everyone and was super friendly even with us. It reminded me so much of my grandmothers restaurant she used to have many years ago in West Texas. As my husband and I looked around, we noticed this appears to be a family owned business, and we just fell in live with it and will be back! I would also like to say that our waitress who was suffering from horrible allergy issues was still working hard & killing it! She was still friendly and was in no way looking to go home sick or let it get the better of her or even sliw her down. She was a gem, and in today's world, that is quite rare. She is so far above average workers that we tipped her really, REALLY well and commended her on her smile, her friendliness, her work ethic, and customer service skills even while she was clearly suffering. We will be coming back soon and will be bringing ALL our family to support this amazing small business!Parking: plenty of parking even for multiple 4 wheelers! 👍

Mel’s Hwy 10 Cafe is a cozy haven for food enthusiasts seeking genuine home-style cooking. Here’s why it’s become one of my favorite spots:Comfort Food Bliss: From the moment you step inside, the aroma of comfort food envelops you. The chicken fried steak here is nothing short of legendary. Crispy, flavorful, and generously portioned—it’s the best around!Belt Buster Breakfast: For breakfast lovers, the “Belt Buster” is a must-try. Fried eggs, hash browns, sausage gravy, and biscuits—this hearty plate will keep you fueled all day.Friendly Service: The staff at Mel’s is warm and welcoming. They make you feel like family, and their attentive service adds to the overall experience.Pancake Adventure: The morning special, complete with bacon, eggs, hash browns, and a choice of pancake, left me satisfied. The pancake had a unique sponge-like texture—different but delightful.Roadside Charm: Mel’s Hwy 10 Cafe may be a roadside diner, but it’s a treasure trove of flavors. Whether you’re passing through or a local, this place feels like home.In summary, Mel’s Hwy 10 Cafe is where comfort meets flavor. It’s a slice of small-town magic that leaves you craving more.

I was excited to go to Highway 10 cafe after the Amish started managing it. The food was awesome but the service was terrible. There was a younger heavy set lady (not Amish) that was waiting the tables and then an older lady came in to help. No one asked if we needed refills on drinks. We had to flag down somebody to try to get take out boxes. When my friend and I got up to check out, it took us probably about 10 minutes to check out and we were the only one in line. The younger lady was at the register and she was just talking to the older lady and doing something with her register and not even acknowledging that we were standing there waiting to check out. I was very disappointed in the service but the food was awesome.

My wife and I stopped here for dinner. We were a little skeptical about trying a little roadside diner. Boy are we glad we stopped, and ate. The waitress was very friendly and gave us suggestions on what to order. I ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich, and my wife ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. Our food came out fairly quick. The CFS sandwich was huge, and hand breaded, and it was one of the best ones I have ever eaten. The bun was so fresh, they must make them in house. The chicken sandwich was hand breaded, and it was a good portion, and It was served on the same fresh bun. Definitely a must stop if you are in the area of Magazine AR.

Always good food. Homemade. Country diner with friendly staff. Chicken fried steak is great. Picture is of "patty melt". Not traditional but very good. Chicken strip, cheeseburgers and onion rings are great also.

This is a classic roadside diner that is a welcome sight to the tried driver. We enjoyed breakfast there and were still in the area at dinner time. The place is family friendly and the food is made with love. Anyone staying the Mount Magazine area should visit and eat here.

The waitress was extremely slow. We had to keep turning around to see if she was going to help us. We almost walked out. Finally, took our drink order, and took forever to take our order only two tables were occupied at the time. Then he asked for a refill on a glass of tea that was sitting on the edge of the table for 10-15 minutes, I finally had to get her attention and ask for it. Food on the other hand was good.

I've reviewed this place before and the food was great...however, today we had lunch there...imagine my shock when the meal was almost double what it used to be only a few weeks ago. The menu states one price, so when you ask why the price was different from the menu...you get a finger pointed at a tiny little sticker on the front of the menu that says prices subject to change at owner's discretion. Soooo...I feel cheated and I will not be back. Attitude of the servers, the lack of following HACIP guide lines and sketchy prices...yea...nope

This is a hidden gem. The food is amazing and the portions are obseardly large. You will love this little hole in the wall eatery, and once you eat there, you won't mind going out of your way just to grab a bite. The staff is attentive and friendly. They will make you feel like you're eating at your families house. It is clean and well managed; don't miss out on your new favorite place to eat.

A group of us met here for lunch before going on to our Quilts of Valor presentation just down the street. Service was attentive and friendly. Each of us ordered something different and everyone was happy with their meal. Next time I will try the loaded potato with pulled pork on top. One of us ordered that and had to take half of it home it was so big.

Very disappointed with the service. Came in for breakfast on a weekday. Only 3 tables being served and still took 10 mins just to order coffee that came out 5 mins later. My wifes order came out way before mine..we had ordered the same thing. The hashbrowns were cold and we had to ask for silverware after the orders arrived. I mean come on just be mediocre and I'm good. Maybe the cook and waitstaff were new.....

My husband and I own a house in Magazine but we live in Arizona. We come stay in Magazine about every two months for a couple weeks and when we do we spend a lot of our meal time at Mel's. It's a clean, friendly place and the food is wonderful ! If you like fried Okra they have that too! Stop on in and enjoy we do!

The Chicken Fried Steak is the best I have ever eaten. I always get a chicken fried steak the first time I eat at a restaurant. This is my baseline. These guys have perfected southern cooking!

Server was exceptional. Six people shared three chicken fried steak, and there were leftovers. Steak just needed a little more seasoning.

Great food and great service. I had the Rattler Melt and she had the chicken fried chicken, both were awesome. Rattler Melt had a bite but not ridiculously hot and great flavor.
