Big selection of rocks and crystals. Very cool to see all the different colors and shapes. Tables and tables full of rocks. I’m not sure about quality because my knowledge about the subject is limited but this place is worth a quick stop if you’re on the area.

There are some beautiful gems in this place. I meant to the mining area and dug around in the clay for a few hours. Finding crystal quartz there took absolutely no effort at all. There are other minerals there as well. It is worth getting a little dirty for.

Please read this before you go....and be aware there are 2 "Coleman mines", a Ron and a Jim. This review is for the Jim Coleman mine, connected with the gift shop on Arkansas Route 7.The "good stuff" is all in areas off limits to you. The "mine" is a giant pile of red clay mud and rock, occasionally you'll find small broken and irregular crystals of quartz. There were many other folks there digging today with the same results.Only after arriving at the "mine" do you find out you'll need to buy a dollar store level hand rake, bucket, gloves ...all at $3 a pop, no mention of "bring stuff to dig" at the gift shop when you buy your "mine pass"Bottom line, it's a tourist attraction. You'll pay $10 a person to dig thru the mining operation's "sloppy seconds" after they took out what will actually sell at market.A very disappointing experience

Beautiful Rock shop. The best mine I visited on this trip. I highly recommend it.

Hands down the best rock shop I've ever been to! In fact, this place easily laps the previous first place! I've been going to rock shops all my life. I absolutely love pretty stones. I've explored them and four or five states now none of them can hold a candle (pebble?) to this one.If at all possible, go on a nice day because they have tons of stuff outside. But if you can't, better to only see the inside than to see nothing at all. The inside was easily twice as big as I thought it was, despite having driven past it quite a lot.Oh and even with all those pretty stones and glass displays, my wheelchair still got through. So serious kudos! I've had a harder time in big box stores.

Had a blast! Reviews varied so we were hesitant but it’s well worth going! We dug for probably 2 hours and left with a ton of cool crystals and just cool rocks in general! The folks in the store were super friendly as was the gentleman at the actual mine! We will visit again if we get back down this way!

3 stars because we did find a few good crystals. We are first time crystal hunters, New to the area. Trying to find the Ron Coleman crystal mine, when we saw the sign, and a shop with the Coleman name. Figured this was the place! Looked around the shop, chatted with the ladies. Good experience so far. Asked if the shop closed at 5, they informed us they close at 6. Cool! Asked how late the mining site was open till, owner said we just had to be out by dusk, so about 8. Also good news, as we got there kinda late. Permit prices were also much cheaper than we expected, $10 instead of $25. One of the staff handed us the permit with a crude map to the mine. I asked to have it shown to me on my GPS, where I already had the ron Coleman address entered. She told me that wasn't the mine, and tried to find their mine site on the GPS. She was unable to find the site on the GPS, and told me to turn in 8.5 miles, then left in 1.5 miles, and so on. NO mention about the steep dirt hill we have to drive up, lucky I had our truck! I don't think a car will easily get there. We arrived at the mining site, and quickly greeted by a man. Seemed direct to the point, gave us the ground rules of the mine. I double checked when the mine closed, he said 7pm. I mentioned that the lady at the shop said it closed at sundown and he snaps back yeah nice try. He goes back inside and we go to the big pile to start looking.Watch for dog poo while mining!I dug in one spot, found a few clusters and several points. Largest point was an inch thick. My wife did more surface hunting and found lots of small points. The guy there was more friendly as we were leaving, chatted for a bit.Overall, we got what we paid for. Happy with what we found. Unhappy that we went to the wrong Coleman mine. Unhappy with the inconsistent information.Ultimately, we should have been informed we were at the wrong Coleman business when she saw them on my Google maps. Probably would have bought a smokey crystal my wife loved and been on our way.

"King of the littles" Now "King of a great time" Yes you can still go out there and find little crystals but you can find some bigger stuff as well! I still recommend this place to anyone looking for good company or just looking for something fun and new! Love this place! This was a blast! If you are looking for a great experience this is the place! Mick was awesome to interact with! Also met some great people out there as well! I stayed for 6 hours and found a ton of little quartz! It was definitely worth the drive and time spent out there! Will definitely be back to see what else I can discover!

This place is full of geological beauty and curiosities! Some tourists come to Hot Springs to see all of the rocks and this shop provides a good place to start. There were lots of geodes, some fossils, and a few that I've just never seen before. There's also a quarry pass available where you can find your own rocks but I didn't go there. It appears to be all owned by the same company. It was raining so I didn't walk out back but I took photos of the tables of rocks. There's a lot to see both inside the shop and out.

Very nice place. Outside they have TONS of rock, crystals, and fossils in the raw. Inside they have jewelry, carvings, polished gems, and so much more. With prices ranging from $1 to $5,000, there is pretty much something for every price range. They also sell permits where you can dig at their mine, and what you find, you keep. Mining is very reasonably priced!!

This was such a fun experience! Definitely worth the price and we would do it again. We left with almost a whole 5 gallon bucket of quartz. Lots of great items in the gift shop too. It was cold and windy when we went so I bet it's even better on a nicer day.

Stopped by here on our way back home from visiting Hot Springs. I'm a rock lover who especially likes quartz, so it was heaven to me! They have a huge variety of quartz and slag glass on dozens of tables out back. The store has a great selection as well! Took photos of a crystal clear white quartz in a glass display priced at $24,500! But don't worry, they have quartz rocks from $5+. Staff was very helpful & friendly. Will definitely stop by again on our way thru next time.

We were on our way to Russelville, along our way we came across this place...Coleman Crystal Mining..big hoardings and banners that caught our eye and we stopped to check it out. We were completely amazed with the huge collections.I felt like buying a lot of stuff but was so confused what to buy and what not to. The lady at the sales counter was also a gem of a person. We spoke about the recently discovered stone in 2017 The Yupperlite stone that glows under UV light. It took us more than an hour to explore each and every beautiful stuff in the store. Everything was so nicely displayed and with reasonable price starting from 50 cent.... That's truly amazing.... The experience would last lifelong to cherish. Thanks keep up the good work. This place is Highly recommended to everyone. And for sure we will be coming back again and will plan to buy a lot of stuff and also to go for mining.....Thanks for the lovely experience.....I have taken more than 100's of pictures for beautiful experience to share with friends and families.....👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌

Cool place. Lots of rocks and gems to see and buy. You can also book yourself and family to go out to the mine and find your own crystals. Great way to spend time with the family.

This place was fantastic with so many crystals you could feel the energy just vibrating in the air. They had the biggest quartz crystal i have ever seen! It was huge! I would luv to have one but I wouldn't know where I could possibly put it! Loved it! So I had to get a couple smaller ones, that would fit in the car.

Been coming to Jim Coleman mine for over 10 years and I've never been disappointed. Where else can you go to dig beautiful Arkansas quartz for only $10 dollars a day? Great folks and well worth the drive.

Use to go to this mine allot a few years ago, but this trip was such a disappointment. After purchasing the passes at the store, we headed to the dig sight. Upon arrival, we noticed a lot had changed since we last was there. The area you dig is much smaller. I asked one of the "care takers" when the last time they brought up fresh material, he said 2 weeks prior. It was obvious that nothing had been brought up or even turned in a very long time. When one left, the other said they hadn't brought up anything in over a year and the other guy was told to lie. We found only a couple tiny tiny tiny pieces, not even any broken points could be found. We dug for a few hours but finally gave up. Before leaving I went to use the newer bathroom they had installed, it was so filthy I could not even step inside without stepping in filth, I chose to wait till we got down the road. This use to be such a great place, I really hope that one day they get it back to what it use to be, but for now I can't recommend it. Why 2 stars instead of one, well for one thing the ladies in the store that sold us the passes treated us very nicely, second, the guy fessed up and told us the truth about the last time any new material was brought up. Honesty and the pleasant ladies bumped it up. If I ever go back I'll update my rating but for now I would not recommend.

We had a great time digging in the dirt. Found lots of great crystals and quartz. New dumps produced the best.

Had a blast here—fun, that is (they don’t let guests use explosives 💥😞😝). Nice long zip line. Once the line got moving, it took 2-3 minutes per person. Everyone had a good time digging for crystals. Everyone found some. Advice? Just get to digging and you’ll find something. One guy at the wash station found a nice cluster at the base of a mound, others were finding in fresh loads of dirt. I found plenty just digging into the top of an old mound that had probably been dug through several times already. The rock shop isn’t just crystals from this mine. They bring in stuff from all over the world. Bathrooms are down the path on the east side of the parking lot and located in the yellow building. Looking forward to going back again. Friendly staff and had met some nice fellow hunters. Looking forward to going back. 💎

It was awesome! 💗😊💗The staff is very nice, even had a staffer give me a couple small points that she found in the field. People that are in the field digging are super niceexcept whoever decided my hand tool I just bought was theirs, that person wasn't so cool. 😔Be prepared only 1 bathroom and have FUN!

Alittle our of the way from the main highway but definitely worth the trip! Everything you could want from a rock and crystal shop! Staff was very friendly and inviting. The prices will have me coming back here repeatedly (yes it’s that worth it) Great selection of raw crystals, rocks and more! They even have great novelty items like animal sculptures, crystal chess sets jewelry and anything you can think of. Lastly you can opt out of buying crystals and go their mine and dig out and keep as many as you like for only $10 a day. I will post a follow up review after I have completed that alternative route!

Great rockshop, very good variety. Prices are fair. Something for everyone, from the hardened collector to the youngsters.Paid to dig at their mountain site for crystals. Best $10 I have ever spent. Staff was helpful and made us feel like family. If you do this, go early in the day. You will need gloves, a bucket, shoes and clothes you dont mind getting dirty. A small hand garden rake or rock hammer, water and sunscreen. It's fun, will wear you out, and dirty. When you leave, you will want to come back though. We found some very good crystals there. Keep in mind there are a few Coleman mines in the area, this one is Jims.

BEST CRYSTAL MINE EVER!! I found a Crystal that was 2 feet long!! I sold it later on eBay for $7350. The guy at the mine may look rough, but he is a very nice person! Strongly Recommend! ❤️

Found some great crystals! There's a shady spot in the very back corner under a magnolia tree that's perfect for digging!

Wow I mean WOW!!!! At Jim's mine you can not go but 3 feet with out finding a crystal of some sort!!!! From perfect single crystals to stunning clusters of 50 plus crystals you will find it here. We went after 4 days of hard rain, the road in was awesome we drove our 1992 dodge minivan fwd all the way with out even the slightest problem.First you must go to the rock shop, the employees are so amazing and full of good information about the surrounding town and camp spots. Check out side at the 115 tables of awesomeness!!! While at the mine Bill the mine attendant was beyond amazing!!! He pointed us in the right direction, was friendly and so full of information and stories I could have spent a week learning. All in all the best thing we have done on our month long road trip, an absolute MUST do!!!!!

In attempt to take kids to mine for crystal mining based off of internet search, reviews, ect.... utilized google maps. Took us to Colemans Rock Shop and Mining - same name- must be the same, right? NO!!!! Bought tickets, realized it was cheaper that I thought as we got in car...driving the additional 10 miles, per directions, found the Actual Ron Colemans Crystal Mining area. Feeling very mislead and to be honest, ripped off. $38...apparently both of these shops are formerly related and now compete. So, went to Ron Colemans, which was much more accessible and easier to navigate...and paid entry fees, again. I just feel there should be some clarification as they MUST KNOW that this confuses people - and they profit off that confusion. Ron Colemans said we should go ask for a refund, and we should have. It wasnt worth the argument. Please verify if you are going to Colemans Mines (you will see first) or RON Colemans Mines.
