We enjoyed our visit to the Mt Ida Cafe and the food was very good. We had cheeseburgers and fries, but there was a large selection of entrees, BLTs, chicken fried steak, chicken strip dinners, barbecue potatoes, and more. We were there on the busy day of the total eclipse, but service was good. Our waitress was friendly. We enjoyed the pleasant and friendly atmosphere of a small town cafe.Prices were reasonable. $9.99 for a CB & fries.The only con was we had trouble figuring out which door was the entrance. Now that we know, we will stop when in the area.

Our party had the western omelette, scrambled and over easy eggs, sausage and bacon. The food that we had was fair to good but the coffee was some of the worst I've ever had. The decor is a poor man's Cracker Barrel style with antique farm equipment stuck to the walls... including the very dark and cramped bathrooms. The saving grace is the service. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and the food was delivered quite quickly.

We went during the "slow" time of the day. And apparently that was a popular idea cause so did like 20 other people.Just 1 cook and 1 server, and they handled it like champs. Food was out fast. And got it exactly how I like it. 👌

I stopped here for lunch. There are many daily specials and a full menu as well. I had the chicken fried steak meal. It was cooked to perfection and delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I look forward to visiting this restaurant again in the future. Thank you for a pleasant dining experience!

Outstanding!!!!!I had a cheeseburger (part of my decades long search for "the perfect cheeseburger")and it was an excellent example of the true classic American cheeseburger!!!! So good!Huge amount of fries- with good crisp to them.My fiancee had the lunch special - chicken fried steak, purple hull peas, greens & texas toast.She's from the South and knows her peas & greens (and makes them very tastily herself) and she raved about how good these were - cooked just right.The chicken fried steak was very good as well.This special was a great deal .... all of this food (and wellmade) for $8.49!!!!!And then.... the coconut cream pie!O yeah! This was a seriously good, top tier slice of coconut pie!!!!I could go on and on about it, but I'll just say that the pie alone was worth the 1 hour drive we made to Mt Ida.The staff was very friendly, helpful and gave very good service!!!!Highly, highly recommend!!!!!

We were driving through and this place was packed so we stopped usually a good sign right? Well it was a good stop I had the hot beef plate with mashed potatoes and a salad very filling so much food for the price. They had the Yankee chicken fried steak sandwich. That thing was crazy good this is definitely a hometown cafe there was some regulars in there playing cribbage on their lunch break Very cozy place, the only thing that would have took it over the edge would have been a hot pot belly stove.😉 Definitely would stop again.

First time dining at the Mount Ida Cafe and it was wonderful! Very quaint, cozy atmosphere. Clean establishment. Friendly service. And the food was excellent! My party ordered a baked potato - it was fresh and steaming hot; a burger - that was made from real ground beef, and the patty was thick; eggs, ham, and hash browns - all of it was REAL ingredients, not the typical powdered or liquid eggs most places will serve, and the thick slice of ham was actual ham, none of that processed, rubbery stuff.Our server was very friendly, pleasant, and punctual. Our food was delivered to the table very quickly. Decently priced on most menu items.I look forward to my next visit!Parking: Several parking spots right off the highway in front of the Cafe, but there are more along the East side of the building, too.

This used to be one of our go to in Mt Ida. Unfortunately it has gone down hill in the last year.The food was bad - burnt pancakes and a sliced beef sandwich that was extremely dry and tasted rancid. Good iced tea and onion rings.The service was lacking. There was 3 tables and 3 servers yet no one came by to ask how we were or offer more tea. Servers were also complaining about something loud enough for us to hear.So sad about this.

I was so happy that the cafe was still open. I ate there when I was in first grade, some 60 years ago. I had changed, but it still has the vibe for me.My family always stopped here for lunch after a week or two of camping at Deer Creek. The food and service were great. I ate breakfast, scrambled eggs, bacon, and hash browns. If it was 60 miles further south, I could have chocolate gravy.

Great breakfast with friendly Arkansas service on this cozy cafe. I returned later to tip because I missed the cue from my breakfast friends that I needed to leave the tip. Sorry, Tess.Vegetarian options: Veggieomelet was delicious.

Cozy little diner in a small town with a really friendly & homey vibe. The food wasn't anything to write home. I got the chicken fried chicken, my go to meal if available at a diner, and it had good flavor and the portions were decent. The best part of the meal was the hot chocolate that we ordered in the end. It was so good that we had to stop here again the next day to pick up some for the road on our way to Kansas City!

5 stars down the line from us. It's just a small cafe with good simple food. Chicken fried steak was declared "the best" and my western omlette was pretty good. Service was friendly and fast.Come on in, have a seat and relax. They'll treat you well.

Very cool vibe in this place. Classic, small town cafe. The pancakes are as big as your face but you'll want at least two. There's nothing fancy here, and that's exactly how it should be. Waitstaff and kitchen are all very nice and accommodating. Seat yourself, and enjoy.

I was really disappointed with this place. I had high hopes but quickly realized disappointment. Server was friendly, but the service was very slow. Water leak stains over our heads. Chicken was over cooked dry and too hard to chew. French fries were overcooked and were hard and had a burnt taste. Not a good lunch at all. The restaurant was practicing social distancing but when I asked for ketchup it was taken from a table that was occupied and not even sanitized.

Maybe a difference in area, but the biscuits were fluffy and a bit cold. The gravy was just plain, as in no salt or pepper. If you order sausage gravy it's the same gravy with a sausage patty roughly chopped on top. And the gravy to biscuit ratio is off on the small. However, super nice staff, the atmosphere superb, and would still go back.

Was in area for over 2 weeks for work, we stopped here for breakfast every day and it was always good. The food was great and the service was top notch. I think they where a little sad to see us leave the area, we became an everyday customer
