I love dairy bars and have been wanting to go here since I drive by it pretty often now for work and was very much pleased with everything except the fried pickles. Too much breading and couldn’t taste the pickles at all. The peanut butter shake is definitely something to grab again and the burger. The catfish was fried perfectly and also the onion rings. We tried and shared a little of everything for this special stop after digging at Avant with a group of friends

Solid American restaurant in Mt Ida. Visited during the 2024 eclipse and even though it was busy, service was great and the food was really good. I got the double cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate shake, and all were what you'd expect from a classic American restaurant.I think they simplified the menu for the expected busy time, but they were still serving what I wanted. Everything was a bit pricey tbh, but that could've also been because of the eclipse.

We came from Houston to dig some crystals and ended up staying at a rental in Mt. Ida. The first day we went to a local cafe and then wished we hadn’t. But this place, they are amazing. My wife and I ordered a cheeseburger(I got a double), and the kids had chicken nuggets. We also ordered some fried pickles which were better than most in Texas. All that wonderful food was quickly followed up with various milk shakes. Service was great, food was fantastic, and the outside seating was great. Thanks for the food!

We stopped in around 3pm for a late lunch with a group of six. After reviewing the massive menu we ordered at one of the two outdoor windows before grabbing a few tables inside. I got the double cheeseburger combo and that burger is awesome... Comes loaded with red onion, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and mayo with a side of fresh, hot fries and a medium drink. It was perfect, but I couldn't help but glance over at the fried catfish that another member of the group ordered... There are about six picnic tables outside if you want to enjoy the nice weather, but no matter where you sit save room for that ice cream cone for dessert! Parking in front and along the left side of the building can get full because this place is awesome! Well worth the stop when you're in the area visiting or simply driving through.Kid-friendliness: Clean space, family-appropriate decor, good music and sports on TV.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a short ramp at the door but it may be difficult to maneuver indoors. Outdoor ordering window is easily accessible.

Long story short, I could not type my full review due to the restricted number of characters so here’s the short version.-Sub par milkshakes.-Sub par customer experience.-Ridiculous use of credit card fees.-Comparatively expensive and average taste for ice cream milkshakes.Keep on driving. It’s not worth the stop. I promise, my original review was much more detailed! However, I’ll have to find another way to rant about how disappointing our experience was to cap off our Eclipse day adventures that figuratively left a sour taste in our mouths to finish the trip. I’m sorry all my details could not be shared but I would not go back if given the choice because it wasn’t that memorable or even that good, given the prices we were charged.Parking: Parking was super accessible! Right up front. Little to no walking distance and plenty of space. We were able to park directly at the outside counter so it was very pleasant.Kid-friendliness: There are plenty of kid friend options for children. What child is going to turn down anything involving ice cream or chocolate syrup or any of the enticing options provided. Very kid friendly!

Good old fashioned food!Not the fastest but it’s fresh and correctly made to order- well worth the wait!Their homemade fries are divine, the burger is high quality with fresh veggies, and the butterscotch shake I had was the perfect pairing!This is a great little stop- I highly recommend it!If I ever pass through again I will stop here again!

The best burger I have had in a very long time. We came here twice. The 2nd time I got a burger, and my boyfriend got the chicken sandwich. He prefers the burger.Very friendly staff, and quick service.Lovely place

A little disappointed after reading all their reviews guess I had higher expectations. I got a cheeseburger, my husband got a double cheeseburger and we shared a large order of Cajun fries. The beef patties are frozen press formed and taste like soy. I could barely eat the burger. The Cajun fries were just frozen packaged fries, not really sure what makes them Cajun. On a positive note, I absolutely loved the butterscotch shake!

Stopped in on the Saturday before the eclipse. They had jacked up their prices. Instead of being thankful for the extra business, they decided to screw their customers. Poor business practice! Spent over $19 for two tiny ice cream shakes made from frozen milk. Could have went across the street to the local supermarket and got 3 half gallons of better ice cream for less. Even the nice young ladies that worked there were embarrassed by the bad management practices! Won’t go back due to poor business ethics.

Outstanding little "old school" "drive up restaurant"!!!!!No "fast food" here..... Everything made fresh to order!!!!!The cheeseburger ranked up there amongst the best. Cooked just right, quality beef, grilled onions carmelized perfectly! A bun that didn't overwhelm the taste of the burger.The fries were great - fresh and hot, with a nice crispy exterior, and the serving was huge!A really really good butterscotch shake! Not too thin or too thick. Great butterscotch flavor.Donna's fish sandwich was also quite good. Not overly breaded, good tasting fish with a nice crispness to the coating.This place is GREAT!!!!! Classic Americana food, cooked and served well, reasonable prices...All in a setting that evokes the past.I WILL be back!If you're anywhere near here you owe it to yourself to stop and grab a bite to eat!!!!!

A gem on the side of the road! Too cute of a place. Soft serve ice cream, sundays, floats & banana splits! But! The burger, fries & onion rings are not to be missed. Its walk up to order and there's colorful picnic tables if you want to eat there. The prices are extremely reasonable so don't miss this place.Mt. Ida is on the west side of Lake Ouachita just about 8 miles out in the mountains.Take a step back in time!

Absolutely worth the line and price. We enjoyed a patty melt, cheeseburger, fries, and strawberry shake and it did not disappoint. The staff were super friendly and helpful as well. I would try everything on the menu if I could. Definitely will be back. With covid, outdoor seating is limited. We had our lawn chairs ready to go to sit in the shade under the trees. Be prepared for a line!

Stopped by for lunch, I would say the best burgers in town! I got the double-cheeseburger and it came out within minutes of waiting. It was filled with flavor and made fresh. Service was great and very polite. However the booths could use a little cleanup.Parking: Parking lot near the building, as well as the accompanying building.
