They obviously care about their cats and their critters but they asked like 2 questions before telling me I couldn’t adopt :( we live in a safe air conditioned shed behind our house. with 2 kittens and a puppy. Which yeah that sounds bad but the puppy literally lays around and does nothing and the kittens are only being babysat. But they didn’t ask us to elaborate before saying no. It’s not fair. We were going to adopt cricket who’s a senior cat and she’s been there the longest out of all but 1 of the cats. She was so sweet and soft and beautiful. We were going to spoil her and give her a fulfilling rest of her life but they hear I have 3 animals and without even asking more or even Meeting us first she decides we can’t adopt. They care about their animals enough to make sure they get a good home but don’t care to meet the ones who want to give them one.

I got a wonderful dog there. I wish people would donate more food and treats and beds for these dogs. It's about inhumane. I'm so happy with my decision to adopt and save a life. She is absolutely purfect in my eyes! Thanks to all the staff. Let's get more community involvement to make money for this place! It needs a big time overhaul!!!

Everyone was very helpful when we came to visit all of the cats and dogs. All of the animals are well taken care of and the volunteers know what they're doing. It's a great relief to meet people who love and care for animals as much as the Ozark Humane Society Shelter does. They're honest about the behavior of each animal and many are very experienced with the many personalities the animals are capable of having. Very pleased with my visit here. Will reccomend to anyone considering adoption. Did I mention they are an anti-death shelter. They strive to take care of each animal, especially those who may be here for the rest of their lives.

Had a young sweet male cat that somehow hitched a ride with someone to a remote build site. Went to drop off at the shelter was told full. No problem I get it. Then proceeded to tell me to just let it go that cats are independent and it would be fine. While I am a veterinarian (not from Harrison) and the life expectancy is dramatically different for an indoor vs outdoor cat I was to say the least surprised of the level of ignorance. Harrison deserves better.

Called to see about adopting 2 puppies.. They do not even answer the phone. I think Harrison needs to evaluate this place and find a better, alternate, shelter. They are always FULL UP and cannot take in any pets.. but they can't even answer the phone when someone wants to adopt. We need better than this.

The workers went out of their way to help you match up with a dog. The price was great.The puppy i picked out came with all the shots and they had the dog fixed. They have many many many dogs and puppies to get. You will love this place.

Walked us through entire facility looking for a dog that suited us. Willing to work with us though we're out of town. Staff was very caring and attuned to the animals with them. Not understaffed. Animals are kept in conditions where they have access to shelter and access to the outdoors ensuring cleanly conditions.

My husband and I are from Springfield, MO. We just left this organization sick to our stomachs. Most of the dogs were without water and in direct sunlight. One escaped while we were there. One of the employees would not answer our questions about vetting and adoption process. Many of the dogs were not fixed. The cat rooms were the worst. Ammonia burned your eyes. The kitten room had loose kittens - the employee said it was completely normal. There was an open closet with open cans of paint and chemicals. It was disorganized, not clean, and if we would have left with an animal, then it would have been as many as we could afford - simply because of the living conditions. This place would NOT pass ANY inspection in Missouri. We were disgusted.

I found a very neglected dog and didn't have the money for all the help she needed. All the girls pitched in and worked wonders. They truly care about the animals. They did some nasty work and made things soooo much better. It is an organization that deserves any donation you can afford!

I adopted a sweet dog and named him Ringo. Although, three years later Ringo did not have the freedom to run where I lived and frankly I believe he is a man's dog. I returned Ringo to the shelter. But, I have called and emailed to check on Ringo and never but one time did I get a answer how he is.

Oh my. I don't even know what to say. This shelter just need burned down. The buildings all smell of feces and urine. The animals seem clean and they all had food and water but the smell was overwhelming. The office was cluttered. They have outdoor kennel but after seeing the inside of the facility we didn't want to go out there. I'm sure the people mean well, but wow!

Horrible. Manager promised a refund of my 45$. After 6 phone calls, she never seemed to be available, a girl told me a check was in the mail. Almost a full year later and I'm still sitting here waiting for that check. Manager is very dishonest and unprofessional.And another year later... still waiting on that check she promised was in the mail.

You don't get to choose your grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, siblings, or cousins. The only family you get to pick are the pets you adopt. Thanks to Ozark Humane Society Shelter, my family reunions are the cuddliest.

Was so disapointed how this place is we went to see the cats and they are living in complete filth the smell alone would knock you down some of the cats were soaked in urine and some were sick i cant believe harrison would let this go on.they need to go to mountain home and check out there shelter that what a shelter should look like.😬😳
