I brought my 10 week old blue nose pit bull in to have his ears cropped; show dog, slight bell (medium height) and the process went very smooth. Check in was smooth, they consulted with me for as long as I wanted to consult. They had several informative suggestions and advisories for me. Listened to what I wanted. Showed patients, kindness, and concern. I received a text informing me prior to surgery. Clean cut, minimal shave, fine suture, provided all medication including chronic pain medication, with the very resonanle price. I also got him microchipped. Very satisfied. Because we traveled two hours from Conway, I was also referred to the doctors friend for a local choice of suture removal in 10-14 days. The only thing I didn’t care for was the fact that I never actually met the “Dr Sharp” in which was a little distasteful In professionalism. You would think for hundreds, I would get the pleasure and peace of mind to meet the face of the art, but I didn’t for unknown reasoning. Although , Pup does not seem to be in too much agony or pain. Thank you team for all of your care and professionalism.Update: 1/24/24$60 microchipped and the number hasn’t register yet, because thats what the website informed me. Kind of sucks. I called company customer service support, with no response after I left a voicemail. I want a refund.Companions in Greenbrier does it for $15.00

Dr. Sharp and his team helped us with our Boston, Lena. We are devastated by her passing but grateful for their kindness and help in finding out what was wrong and getting her back to us. It means so much.

Spent over 5,000 to repair my dogs broken leg. With promise of it being fixed I decided to pay them to do it and of course the entire time I was there they never cared about me or my puppy they just kept asking if I was going to be able to pay that. The doctor spent a total of 45 seconds with me before taking my dog. Now a year later and my poor puppy still can’t use his leg so I took home to a real vet and for free he showed me where they screwed up and how it probably couldn’t be fixed now.

Dr. Sharp has killed two of our animals, instead of curing them, and I can't see that he cared at all about either. He DID care about getting paid.PLEASE don't take your animals to him! If you must use a vet in greenwood, I highly recommend Cornerstone. They actually care about animals.

They were able to get my dog in for a CT scan the same day I called. It was MUCH appreciated! We drove down from Oklahoma. After such a scary ordeal, it was so nice to be able to put my worry at ease. Dr. Sharp even recommended a local restaurant for us to try, which turned out to be very good.

Dr Sharp is the best vet around! He is caring and compassionate with pets and owners alike, very easy to talk to, and willing to take the time to explain things. Being the only vet in his very busy office, this is truly remarkable. He is also very honest. I’ve seen too many vets that will say and do things that are less than honest or ethical, perhaps because they don’t know any better or for other reasons, but Dr. Sharp will not do that. He’s a genuinely good guy who cares about the work that he does and it shows.

Aside from having a late start, the staff was extremely helpful, they waited for us to arrive knowing we were on the way from a long drive. Provided top notch service to the issue.

My dog was injured & in extreme pain. I thought it might be from his past FHO surgery elsewhere a few years prior. After X-rays I’m told they can’t see much & will have to go in & clean up the site costing thousands, but while he was in the back they cut his nails since he was so good for them.My dog in extreme pain & they cut his nails to bleeding…really!I was then referred to AR Animal Care in Russelville. They took one look at him walking in & said it’s his knee in pain, not his hip. She pushed on his hip. No pain. Pushed on his knee and wow. He injured his knee from running. Didn’t cost thousands, no need for months of rehab dealing with surgery again. Got a brace & meds for his torn ligament in his knee & recovered in a few months. This place is horrible and doesn’t know anything about the animals they should care for.

I will never be able to thank Dr. Sharp and his staff enough for taking care of my Braxton. Braxton went to jump on the couch and fell backwards damaging his disc's. He was paralyzed from the ribs down. Dr. Sharp did surgery on him, not knowing of he would ever walk again. I am happy to say that he is walking and I believe he is on his way to a full recovery. Their care and expertise that they showed went above and beyond my expectations.

My dog Scout, had been battling GI issues for a couple of months. His vet did blood work and everything was always normal. She referred us to South County for additional tests.I was very pleased with everyone there. The front desk was very pleasant, the vet tech as well as Dr Key were very attentive and listened to our concerns. Thankfully after an ultrasound, the issue was found and he is on the mend!So thankful that they were able to get him in quickly and find out what was causing his problems.I highly recommend them!

I was impressed with the facility, the waiting area became to over crowded. My dog is a very happy dog and loves to play. She was so excited when all the dogs came in, and extremely difficult to control. It was not the hospital's fault or the owners. It is just the way my dog is.Was very impressed with doctor Sharp and his knowledge. He was able to give explanation of the surgery in explicit detail. The front desk girl was very friendly and professional.I think NW Arkansas should be very proud to have a vet service as the South County Animal Hospital/

Dr Sharp is a good surgeon but lacks compassion for the owners of the pet. The only time we saw him was on our first visit when we had to decide if we wanted our dog to have back surgery. When we went to pick her up to take her home the doctor didn't come in to see us and when we took her for the follow-up appt they took our dog to the back for the doctor to see her progress and the doctor never came out to speak to us to see how we were doing or ask if we had any questions. You would think after spending over $3600 he could as least come and out to speak to us. The staff for the most part was good and did all the explanation for what to do when we took her home. Wendy was like Dr Sharp. After the surgery in Fayetteville Wendy told us we could visit her the next day at the Greenwood office. I called that morning and told them it would take almost two hours to get there and the girl on the phone set a time for us to come for a visit. When we got there we found out that our dog was still in Fayetteville. The staff was very apologetic in Greenwood but when we got to Fayetteville nothing was said. We would have liked an apology by Wendy. Everyone makes mistakes and she probably got her days mixed up but acknowledging it would have been very nice for her to do since we drove two hours to see our dog to just find out she wasn't there and then drove another hour to see her. Tory was the best on the staff. She was very caring for our dog and us and had a lot of compassion. She saved this doctor from getting a 1 star for a review.Dec 6, 2022 I am pleased to report that Dr Sharp emailed us an apology and we really appreciated his effort and his apology.

Our precious old Ridgeback needed major back surgery. Dr Sharp performed the surgery and the difference in her was like night and day! The staff, especially Wendy, was awesome. Our girl totally loved her!Everyone there kept us posted all along the way with details of what was going on with her surgery, from preparation, to finishing up, to letting us know when we could come see her afterwards. They truly cared about our girl's welfare and made every possible effort to care for her as we do.

Our dog had to have urgent surgery and Dr Sharp worked him in. The team was professional, pleasant and helpful. We have a long road of recovery and they helped us on what we have to do so he recovers. Have already recommended South County Animal Hospital to others

Personable and educated staff and team go above and beyond to make sure your pet is treated with the same compassion they would give to their own.Dr. Sharp is among the most talented surgeons in the state, possibly the best worldwide, and people often travel hours to benefit from his 'cutting' edge interventions and complex ortho surgeries.

We can and do recommend South County Animal Hospital - The Veterinarians and the WHOLE staff are so great- Dr. Sharp did emergency surgery on one of our fur babies which has given our fur baby another chance walking and better quality in life. The staff is so wonderful with our four fur babies and our fur babies loves everyone- they call and check on how our fur babies are doing after an appointment-- South County Animal Hospital is able to handle emergencies, do the proper testing, and they are upfront with treatments and recommendations. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Dr. Key was absolutely amazing. She detailed exactly what we would need to have done and did a great job on the procedure. They stayed after hours because the surgery had to be done immediately. Would definitely recommend South County to anyone I know.

We took our cat here today due to an injured shoulder/leg. Without even having an appt, they accepted him and treated him fast enough that we didn’t even have to leave the parking lot. Very kind and informative. They make sure to fill you in every step of the way. They also come to your vehicle for any paperwork and for your pet so that social distancing is covered. We will use them from now onUpdate: Melvin (our cat) is doing 100% better. They even sent out a text checking on him and telling us to call if we ever have questions. We are very impressed with this place.

South County Hospital, Dr. Sharp and staff are wonderful. Have always been very thoughtful and caring with owners and animals.Always patient and kind. Afterall, I realize they are not just dealing with one patient (the pet) but the owner as well. We all love our pets and they are special to everyone of us. They do everything they can to help us, care giving and crisis. What professionals!Thank you, Dr. Sharp and staff,Elaine Carney

Absolutely never take your pets here!!! Dr. Sharp performed my dogs ACL repair and they completely cut open the WRONG LEG before completing surgery on the correct limb. When telling me about it, he went on and on about how he prescribed a stronger antibiotic because of her allergies then he completely blamed his vet tech for the "minor hiccup"

What I disliked most about this place was most certainly the class divide. I am actually a very educated person who lives a blue-collar lifestyle. Meaning, I wear second hand clothes from thrift stores, and I drive an old beat up jeep just to give an idea of my appearance. Most people in Arkansas are blue collar and treat me with respect and dignity. However, there is a certain class of people who have a higher amount of education then the general public and these folks generally work for the Healthcare industry be it for people or animals. They let you know through there behavior towards you that they believe they are superior. That was the impression I got from this place. Moreover, I started out at Pointer Trail in Van Buren and I was referred to South County Animal Hospital. I was referred there because the kitten i found abandoned at a park has a life threatening ailment and two breaks in one leg. Pointer Trail informed me that it would probably cost about $500 for the surgery at South County. The people at Pointer Trail had so much compassion for my situation they did not charge me 1 penny before they sent me to South County.Furthermore, after I was at South County they informed me that the procedure would cost $2200. That was only to fix the life threatening ailment of a diaphragm hernia. To fix the hernia and the two breaks in my kittens leg would cost $6000!!!!!!I was upset that Pointer Trail told me it would only cost $500 and i also could not afford the amount of $2000-$6000. I told South County my issue and they did not care or want to work with me one bit. What was SO disturbing about South County was even though they did not conduct an exam (all they did was give me a price quote) they still wanted to charge me an exam fee. Even despite the fact that Pointer Trail did the exam and all the work and did not charge me a dime. The impression I got from the culture of South County is that they run there facility like a factory. No human emotion and desencitized to people like me who are upset because my kitten is going to die as a result of there super high prices meant for white collar people.I will never, ever, go to this place again. I will never, ever, recommend this place to anyone unless you are a wealthy pretentious douche like the people who run this place (so they can rip YOU off with there outrageous pricing. Also they will be nice to you because your displaying that your in the same economic class as them). To conclude I fully recommend Pointer Trial Animal Clinic in Van Buren they are some really amazing people there. After my disappointing visit to South County I explained the situation to Pointer Trail. Even though they are short staffed and dont have the equipment that South County has, Pointer Trail agreed to do the surgery for $500. God Bless Pointer Trail!!!

They are nice, but a bit overpriced. I took my dog there who was very ill/old, and feel they gave me false hope he was going to survive so I spent, and he suffered through the weekend. I took him back 3 days later to be euthanized and they charged me an exam fee to look at his gums and listen to his heart, I feel like they shouldn’t of charged that because of the circumstances, and had this of been back home they wouldn’t have. Sometimes compassion is worth more than money.

After Beau's CT scan was completed, Dr. Sharp gave us a thorough and complete assessment of his findings. He informed us of some pending test results that were needed to provide a more in depth diagnoses. We are now awaiting those test results.

I've had 2 dogs that had to have surgery with South County (the first one was a poor outcome, no fault of the Hospital. My dude threw a blood clot and passed away.) Though it was a poor outcome, they took great care of him pre-op and helped arrange everything post-op. With my second doggo, they handled her sassy personality with care and made sure we were both comfortable. They explained everything at a level someone who doesn't work in a vets office would understand, and knowing that my first doggo passed away post surgery, they helped walk me through everything to ease my mind. Text me when she was going in and called me when she was done. Now Remi is home and doing fantastic, hating the cone of shame, but oh well. haha They give you a link for a website that tells you what to expect day by day after surgery and that really helped me. It has little videos and extra links with a check list. It shows what you should be doing and what progress your dog should be at. Also what to watch out for so you know when you need to contact your vet, if it's necessary. Just over all very pleased with this office!

Dr Key was great with the Mules! I know how our behave when they are comfortable with the vet. Even the young one who'd never been to town did just fine!

Our dauchund had a spinal injury late on a Saturday night. We took him to the after hours vet who didn’t not have the equipment to o operate or the ability to image the injury. They recommended Dr. Sharp. I called Dr. Sharp at an insane early hour on Sunday. He called me back. Amazing! Our Bixley was in surgery for the spinal issue less than 24 hours later. We drive 3 hours to see Dr. Sharp and I can’t say how happy I am we did. Bixley had surgery less than 34 hours after his injury and he is recovering. The staff is amazing! They FaceTime with us his progress and call us everyday. I am so grateful for them.
