I chose this nursery based on the positive reviews, and have had a horrible experience. We spent over $1000 on our first visit, and purchased two Taylor Juniper Trees. When we went to plant them, the root ball was obviously damaged. When I contacted them to share this, I was told that this was not possible and that my landscaping team clearly had no idea what they were doing. They stated the trees "appeared to be healthy" and discounted everything I had to say. I felt laughed at honestly on the phone and completely dismissed. They recommended staking the trees, so I paid to have this done and invested in fertilizer multiple times and watched as the trees struggled to stay alive. These two trees are in the front of my house. When I finally felt I had given them every opportunity to survive, I contacted them again. I was VERY surprised, given our email exchanged and their full knowledge of my tree's situation, to hear them say now that "we have had problems with those trees and got a bad batch." So clearly, at some point they realized these trees were bad. They did not reach out to me when they came to this realization, and they continued selling these trees after my complaint, clearly without even checking. Incredibly disappointing experience, and at no time, other than a forced "I'm sorry about your trees" muffled during the refund in front of other customers, did they seem like they cared at all, or tried to make it right. There was no offer of replacing the trees, no discount offered for future purchases or anything. I expect better treatment than this and better quality trees. I also bought a Willow Tree that has struggled as well, but they refused to refund that. Keep your receipt and don't let them tell you you're wrong! Their condescending attitude is unacceptable.

THE local nursery to go to. Friendly people with lots of smiles. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Huge selection of natives, perennials, annuals, plants for food, plants for fun---the list goes on. Like any good plant enthusiast I am guilty of 'just stopping by' and this is certainly a great place to do so. White River has been and always will be the bee's knees.

Lost over 50 caterpillars to their pesticide tainted milkweed. Returned several flats of Asclepius Tuberosa and took some “evidence” that the guy didn’t look at. See photos. I have documented it all. Totally disinterested in what had happened. Not even looking at me, he said “sorry about that.” I have raised monarchs for many years. This is not so much a complaint at this sorry point, but a warning on how pesticide affects our environment.—Farmington Monarch Sanctuary, registered waystationIn response to your note: I had zip milkweed when I purchased yours to get me through. Fed them nothing but yours. I run clean procedures. Only 2-3 per sterile containers in case OE virus or some other pathogen would cause issues. I can assure you there was no herbicide drift or product on my back porch. When I realized poisoning was an issue, I changed out EVERYTHING trying to save them. Too late already ingested, but tried.Interestingly, those same females laid eggs on my somewhat mature common milkweed in my yard. I decided to raise them on that. Thankfully, they were all healthy. Go figure…btw, I wrote this review months ago…to be clear, I got $ back for milkweed I didn’t use and returned, not the tainted flat I fed them. You can say whatever you want: I know my sources and methods are sound. I know what happened here—there is no mystery.

Well I guess after going here for a few dozen times its finally time to review this amazing place! This place is *hands down* my favorite nursery in all of NWA. There might be a few places here and there that do a single thing better but as an overall place, White River is my go to. I've been going here for almost four years now and I am never displeased when I leave.I am always greeted warmly by employees and always asked if they can help. While talking about being helpful, they really show their knowledge and passion for plants here. I have always had all my questions answered here.I have always told everyone to go here for their plants and I will continue to always do that. Thank you White River for all your hard work!

If you like native plants, friendly people, and couldn’t give a damn about Bonnie plants or any other plants sold at Lowe’s, Home Depot, or Walmart…well, you’re in luck. White River Nursery sells a diverse array of quality, healthy, and affordable plants. I may have to sell my house, car, and other meaningful belongings so that I can keep feeding my planting addiction. These guys were awesome, and are open all the time. They also have an outstanding soil and amendment selection.

I have used White River quite a bit and have always found that the staff is always kind and knowledgeable. They clearly care about the quality of their product and the customer’s satisfaction. I’ve been to several other nurseries in the area; some obviously prefer dealing with high volume contractors, while others guard their plants to the degree that they’ll throw older stock in the dumpster rather than sell them to customers at a discount. White River often has really good sales and they even bring deliveries out to the house for free. They continue to do business how I wish every small local business would. My family and our company will continue to support the team at White River.

They also can usually tell you a local spot to veiw a full adult size specimen of the plants your looking to purchase. Dog Friendly, its a place I find myself easily killing a Saturday morning at.

I am new to the Fayetteville area and have always supported local nurseries and growers wherever we lived. The staff at White River Nursery were very helpful in selecting the right soil for my Fiddle Leaf Fig, selecting fall plants and the fall craft fair was wonderful. I look forward to their guidance in planting our summer garden. Great place to shop and support small local businesses.

The people at White River Nursery were so helpful and helping me find the necessary trees for the city requirements on a job. They also allowed me to leave the trees there for a few weeks until we were ready for them on the job site. Very knowledgeable and professional.

I've bought a number of trees from White River, over several years, as well as numerous tropical plants. All are doing well. I enjoy the ambiance, the casual atmosphere, the knowledgeable staff. And I don't even live nearby.

This is hands-down our favorite nursery in the area. I love that they have an entire section dedicated to native plants, compared to other large nurseries that maybe carry one or two. Their staff is knowledgeable and willing to take the time to understand what you’re trying to do and then talk you through several options.

Update: we've been back at least 6 times in a week picking out plants for the back of my parents house. We were able to get several native plants for their pond, and they had a great selection, all well labeled. This is the closest plant nursery to their house, which is why it's our first choice. They have a lot of great annuals as well to choose from. We've never really had a phenomenal experience talking to anyone even while checking out, but everyone seems quiet and nice/polite. I did notice that they're calling a plant the wrong name, one of their indoor plants is labeled "Burle Marx" when it is a Xanadu. We bought it for my mom in the winter and I realized it was not what it was labeled there, and especially realized it when I got an actual Burle Marx in Philly. No big deal, but have heard them call it that to several customers.Great house plants even in the winter! We stopped by on a snowy day and thankfully they were open, and picked up a few new house plants. All of the ones they had were well cared for, and I'd love for my parents to come back here to get some perennials for outdoors. My parents bought birch trees from them as well and they loved working with White River. The people working there were super nice, and we're really grateful they stayed open some on a snowy day since we had been looking forward to going there!

Overall, I've had positive experiences at WRN. They have some plants that you might not find anywhere else. Also, Their prices are competitive. I'd give them 5 stars if they were just a little bigger.
