I finally drove out here to check out this highly rated bbq spot (according to my coworker). There's only a few tables inside so I decided to get something to-go. I asked for a rib plate and the lady said they were out of ribs. The bbq beef was my backup but they were out of that too. So I reluctantly got a bbq pork sandwich with mild sauce and slaw on the side. The pork is sliced, not pulled and the sandwich is quite small. It was just under 6 bucks but felt like a snack sandwich. As far as taste goes, it was just ok. I tried with and without slaw and it's definitely a bit better with the slaw. But I am not a fan of their bbq sauce, which is quite vinegary. I'm sure some folks like it, but for me it's a pass.I have to add that I was a bit annoyed that they were out of 2 meats by 1:30, when they were open until 7 on that particular day. If the demand is that high they should prepare more. Just an opinion.

On a recent trip I googled" where is the best BBQ in Arkansas and this place came up. In a town of 600 people and open since the forty's. You order your sandwich and they ask hot medium or mild? Slaw or not? Then they go in back and out it comes wrapped in wax paper. There was 3 table eating when we got there. Then 5 orders to go came in and 2 more tables. Two of the togo were 90 buck each. Cash only here no credit debit check of WIC ! The sandwich was medium with slaw and was AWESOME.If you are in the area it's worth the trip.

I think this is one of the oldest bbq restaurants in Arkansas. I don't know if it's under new ownership or what's going on but they need help. Inside seating was closed and the employees only said that it's closed for now but they have plans to open seating soon. There also was no where to sit outside. Order and leave, please. So you have to order from a small window and can't really smell any bbqing going on. Bbq sandwich was just ok. Would not go back unless their's some improvement on service and seating.

Found this place after a long day of motorcycle riding. Absolutely loved the down home atmosphere! The food was simple but amazing! The BBQ was some of the best I've had. This place is proof that you don't always need fancy furnishings or crazy ingredients to have a great restaurant. First time ever having coleslaw on BBQ, and I have to say it was fantastic and turned me into a convert! I would purposely go out of my way to stop in for a pulled pork sandwich!

Me and a buddy went here because the restaurant came highly recommended by another friend. We were very excited to eat "the best BBQ you ever put in your mouth" (as it was described to us). It was the biggest let down ever. First, we felt like we were an inconvenience to the people working there. Like they were bummed out we stopped by. The atmosphere was weird. It was not like being at a normal restaurant. The tables were sticky and filthy. There was no restroom. All they had to drink was Dr. Pepper and lemonade. Then we got our food. I am not even sure if it was beef, but my so called brisket sandwhich was the worst thing I have ever eaten. This place is disgusting. Do not go here if you are BBQ fan. You will be highly disappointed. I do not understand the hype and rave reviews.

Off the grid, exiting the Des Arc exit if you're coming from Little Rock (40 East) or the Biscoe exit if you're coming from Memphis (40 West.) I don't know if the "cash only" rule disappointed me or intrigued my curiosity so, I had to try it. I read the reviews and being the BBQ connoisseur (lol,) I took the road less taken. I ordered a pulled pork (they were out of beef,) and a rib sandwich with no sauce. The pork was perfectly seasoned and the BBQ sauce almost has a steak sauce flavor (vinegary) but works well with the cole slaw and the meat. The ribs were tender, well seasoned and actually tasted like they were smoked. Tastes like home cooked backyard BBQ. Long story short, this made #2 in my top 3 BBQ spots in Arkansas. My number #3 spot: Smoking In Style BBQ in Hot Springs (hadn't tried McClards or Stubby's yet.) And my #1 BBQ is: Pull Up At Big Dave's in Little Rock. These lists can change!!! Fat Boys Killer BBQ on Arch St in Little Rock is my wild card for the ribs. Only one disappointment with Craig's BBQ: the price on a slab of ribs. Upon return, I ordered a slab, with 4 sandwiches (at $5 a piece,) and a $3 smoked sausage. My total was $77!!! That's a $50 slab of ribs!!! They don't have a slab price, they charge by the pound. My advice, don't order a slab, order 4 rib sandwiches and you got a slab with bread for half the price. I'm not going to rate them lower than 5-stars for that. I could've just said "no" but I paid for it 🤦🏾‍♂️ Regardless, I'll be back and making better decisions next time lol. 👍🏾👍🏾

If you haven't heard of Craig's your hiding under a rock. This is one of the best home in the wall BBQ joints in Arkansas. Yesterday I got there pork dinner plate with slaw and beans. There was enough meat for 2 sandwiches on that plate! I love their cole slaw, you can tell his made from scratch. (I think they put apple in it) but over all some great southern BBQ. If you with in 30 miles of De Valls Bluff, head to Craig's. You won't be disappointed.

Hole in wall in DeValls. She Only takes Ca$h. Worth getting off the highway for. Great BBQ with an unusual sauce. Scratches your adventurous itch. If you want good BBQ at a big established place you could to Nicks in Carlisle. But this is small and personal.Reasonably priced. The pictured pork plate and tea is $10. Live a little.

The tastiest BBQ sandwich you could ever hope for! Get yourself a few - they go down quick and you'll definitely want another. Or be real smart and grab 10 at a time! They are great cold the next day. Sauce is amazing. Took my sister from Seattle to all the best restaurants in Little Rock, then asked her what her favorite meal was...she said the Craig's BBQ sandwiches! Worth the drive , no matter how far you're going.

Worth the trip! We stopped on a drive across the state and it was worth the detour. The pulled pork sandwiches and coconut pie were delicious and we were excited to take home sauce to our family! If you are planning on visiting, make sure to note that they are currently only open Thursday - Saturday (10-7) and Sunday (10-2)! The dining room was open when we went and Joyce was very friendly and helpful!

Love eating at these lil hole in the wall places, so we made a special trip to come here. A hour out of our way.. The food just seems to taste better. I had a CB with pulled pork added. Heard this burger was fantastic so I had to try it with a lemonade. The burger gets a 4 bc the burger just wasn't very well seasoned. but the pulled pork was great, and the lemonade was fantastic. I give it 3 bc there really isn't much of a dine in. No restrooms and the ceiling has a bad sag to it. The place has a cluttered and unkept feeling to it. Would eat here again, but only if I'm in the area. No special trip, like this one.

Started coming here with my dad almost 50 years ago. Live I'm California now, but anytime I'm back I make it a point to stop here. It's still as great as when I was a kid.

Poor customer service, manager/owner has NO customer skills, pull pork very very salty. Manager's explanation is that it's the sauce, and how long the meat has set in the sauce (your sauce is salty). She the manager/owner suggested adding water to the meat, but not to much water. Too much water will make it water and take away the seasoning. She stated it was just me and my system. I suggested sliced pork that way I could take off the sauce or as much of the sauce as needed. She started there was nothing she could do. SO DON'T have a problem at Craig's Bar-B--Q, because she can't or won't fix the problem. Her response kept being I don't know what to tell you .

Made the trip for my birthday a couple weeks ago (haven't been back in 20+ years) & it was everything I ever remembered & more! Worth the stop! They are cash & check (with ID) only.Would recommend calling ahead as I wasn't planning on a 45 minute wait. However, after seeing the line, it was understandable. We visited Hazen while we waited, so it worked out.Highly recommend Ms. Lena's Pie Shop for dessert, which is also cash & check (with ID) only. Her Peanut Butter sheet cake is heavenly!

Beware- the dining room isn’t open. It was order at the window only. We really needed indoor seating as we drove from Little Rock. Ended up turning around and going to another area restaurant. Also, there was NO scent of delicious bbq wafting through the air, which I thought was odd. Instead, there was a strong smell of cleaning products; so strong that you could smell it outside and at the window. There was also no menu posted. Waste of a drive.

We stopped here while on a road trip my mom is from a town not to far away and said the food was great when she was younger so my step-dad and I wanted to try it. We ordered a pound of ribs and baked beans. The food was given to us ice cold like it was pulled out of the refrigerator. The wait was approx 30-45 minutes. We could not understand why the wait was so long if the food wasn't being pulled fresh off the grill or even reheated. We ended up having to buy burgers elsewhere and couldn't eat what we got here until we got to our final destination 5 hours away. By this time I no longer wanted the ribs. The beans were fine. My mom and step-dad did not care for the flavor of the ribs.

Best BBQ in Arkansas I’ve been going here sense a kid because of my mom and family. I’m from Oklahoma but family from Stuttgart Arkansas. Every time I come down to visit I have to stop by here love there BBQ their burgers are out this world and the slaw is amazing!! Also don’t forget the Coconut Pie! I’ve always told my family that they really need to expand and show more people what they’re taste buds are missing. Craigs BBQ IS A MUST STOP!! Won’t be disappointed!!💚🤩

Best BBQ in Arkansas.. the champagne of barbecue sauces. We've been going there since 1986. I love the place and the pie lady across the street. Everything here is excellent...This is a treasure if you travel through the state you must try... Go out of your way to try it.. if we're within 300 miles we go.. lol..It's one of the last of the traditional barbecue houses left in America...It's historic value is phenomenal...

This eatery we found by mistake on one of our trips and we exited due to highway construction. If you're looking to experience the era in time (1950's) of segregation and prejudice, this is the place for you. From the moment we walked in and up to our exit, WE felt unwelcomed. The town folk in authority, leos, were clearly in control of this establishment. The beefy and over 6ft tall clannish men took up most of the tables. My aggravation was how the wait persons shuffled between tables and still using verbiage like "Yes, master!" Finally the natives in the next table whispered to us to just eat quickly and leave quietly. Service was bad because we were subtlety not wanted and tea refills were absent. Don't quite remember whether the food was good after this shock and awe interaction.
