Super friendly and helpful employees! I went in to purchase fish and tank and had no idea what I was looking for. They helped me select the correct fish and tank for my needs. I also loved looking at the rabbits, parrots, snakes, gerbils, and hermit crabs.

Working here is absolutely AWESOME! The owners are involved and caring. The animals ALWAYS get The best treatment and get taken care of. I love the fact that my team pushes me to learn and grow in the store. I am proud to say that we are a store that cares about its customers and their needs. Customers ALWAYS come first and are provided with what they need to the best of our ability. We strive to be knowledgeable about every aspect of the store not just one in specific. As for the comments above that have given poor reviews I am genuinely sorry that you had a bad experience. We do not carry and cannot carry hedgehogs due to them being exotic animals. So you might have mistaken us with another store. To touch a little bit on the topic of our birds Ms. Jada bird and Scarlet are VERY VERY well loved and cared for. Each individual team member is required to spend an hour a day caring for the animals, this includes playing with them, feeding them, as well as cleaning their personal rooms. These birds are living the life, let me tell you! Every business day an employee shows up an hour before we open JUST to care for the birds. They each have their own individual room (full bathroom sized rooms) which have toys and pearches that they can enjoy. They get fresh fruits and vegetables for breakfast and an assortment of nuts and dried fruits for lunch and dinner. Guys these birds are spoiled rotten and SO SO loved. This store has so much to offer each and every pet owner it is unreal. Every employee is trained personally by our manager and he really is wonderful. Come stop by one day and enjoy our assortment of reptiles, small animals, birds, and fish!!! We can't wait to help you and get your fur babies exactly what they want and need!!Yours truly, loyal Pet Country customer and employee Hannah:)

The best pet store in Central AR! The staff is AWESOME! They also have a really cool Parrot that lives there. You can pet the bunnys, see the parakeets, and watch the saltwater fish swim around. They also have a great selection of specialty pet items for those with more exotic pets.

Workers are very friendly and try to help. However, if your not there when the saltwater fish are being delivered, you probably won't have much of a selection. They do have the fish you want but they are in the display aquariums and not for sale. The fish and livestock are also way over priced compaired to other pet stores. They do have a good price on RO and Saltwater but that's all I usually buy there because of the prices.

Everything is usually a couple bucks more than other stores with the same stuff. They have a decent freshwater fish selection most of the time, but they have a really bad Malaysian trumpet snail infestation. I kind of like the little dudes, myself, but they're pests with a huge bioload. They can kill your fish and plants, they can survive in a salty mud puddle, and they lay eggs by the hundreds without needing a mate. I'm always kind of bummed that there never seems to be more than a dozen saltwater fish in the store at any given time. Not much encouragement for me to start the hobby. And I have yet to meet an employee that is knowledgeable about the animals they sell, but I don't come in all that often. Also, they clip ALL of their parakeets' wings so they can't fly at all. That's a lot of lamed birds in one 3'x3' pit.

You cannot have the type of relationship with an owner of a pet store like you can at Pet Country. The owners and staff care about their customers and their customers' pets! They look to serve a valuable service and provide high quality options to pet owners at very reasonable prices... great example is dog food compared to other places. One review that disturbed me was one about a Hedgehog... I have been going to Pet Country for 4 years now at least once a week for supplies/food for my dogs, cat, bird and snakes and not once have they sold hedgehogs during that time. Now if someone wanted a Hedgehog, the owners would be more than happy to go to their vendors and find a healthy and happy animal for you if their vendors sale them. Unlike Petsmart and PetCo, Pet Country has the ability to go to their vendors and find out if they can order you what you want. Just ask the staff and they will be more than happy to grab the manager/owners to discuss your desire! I would recommend Pet Country over and over for any pet owner!

I went into this store for the very 1st time, first of all, it was extremely easy to locate, lots of customers browsing around (so it must be very popular), and very well stocked. As I walked in, I was immediately welcomed by several of the staff. I went in to find the perfect dog collar for my Jack Russell. Found the cutest Razorback collar for a great price! Looked around at other places for Razorback collars, but this one was Perfect! I ended up buying other items because I liked what they offered and they were very knowledgable about the items that they sold. I was even greeted and assisted by one of the Owners, Janann Johnson. She was extremely nice just like the rest of her staff. I work in Little Rock, live in Benton, but I promise you, I will be back!

We love this store! We get super customer service and knowledgeable advice everytime we go in. We got a puppy not long ago, that we didn't realize was coming from a poor situation. He wasn't doing well when we first got him, wouldn't eat and was underweight. But with the help we received from the people here he is Thriving! Our vet backs the products they carry and the store even gave us samples of all the flavors in Mojos food line. So now we have found his favorite flavor in a food he loves and is great for him! They also made suggestions on healthy treats, of which they have a Huge selection (Mojo loves the freeze-dried turkey hearts). They offer grooming services. And do whatever they can to ensure the health and happiness of your pet. Wouldn't even consider going anywhere else.

After reading previous reviews I went to decide for myself, seeing both very high and very low reviews. At first glance they had really cool stuff, and a large array of animals for sure. However I asked to look at a hedghog and though the employee was very kind to let us look at them and, nice as she was, she was not dressed like she was at work at all and had almost no useful info on how to care for anything I asked about. Not a hedghog, bird, or frog. I asked what kind of tadpoles they had and she said "Oh its like a normal frog", so I said "Yeah, what kind" to which she replied "It's just a normal frog". Then unfortunately EVERY hedgehog I looked at was injured. One had a swollen eye, one had three bites on her, which were open and bleeding, the other was sickly and had green paint on him. I was upset at how sad it was, I wanted to buy them just for the sake of rescuing them so I can nurse them back to health. Every animal I handled looked like it needed immense improvement in every aspect of its life. Bottom line, the condition here is horrible for the animals in the tanks, I don't think that either the employees or owner cares enough to give them the attention or living conditions they need for even a temporary home. I will not bring an animal or item from that store to my home, I wouldn't want to risk sickness for my future or current animals. Go see for yourself and use your own judgment, I'm just warning you before you see what I saw. Because it's just sad, and it will not be a happy memory of finding a healthy pet. Also: The owners responses to comments on here I have seen from others do not match the description of the store (I have not met him in person, only read his words from comments he left to other customers). Knowing someone is a liar from his own words before I meet them is a horrible impression. I went there to judge for myself and I have, now I also will never return.

I just switched pet food and treats for my picky dog. Bought expensive bags of treats from a national chain and he won't touch them.So I went to Pet Country to see if they had any advice. Not only did they have as many grain-free and healthy treats for my dog as the larger chain store, but the sales associate obviously knew a great deal about each line they carried. I was reluctant to invest too much more in treats, assuming my dog would just turn his nose again, so he recommended a cheaper product to start with. He also gave me some free samples of some of the more expensive ones.My dog loved them all. And because the associate took the time to deal with my indecisiveness and gave me some free samples I will definitely be back. When a business is so knowledgeable about the products they sell and confident the customer will be pleased--to the point that they will send samples home with--I'm sold. My yorkie loved the Stella and Chewies the best and the free-dried chicken pieces. We'll be back!

I have been a faithful customer for well over two years. I carry saltwater and African cichlids as well as own very spoiled dogs and birds. These folks are well educated and not afraid to say "I don't know" rather than make something up, unlike other stores. (Pet smart) I have observed them with "difficult" customers and they have been stellar; their first concern is to solve the problem at hand. I have seen them fail at satisfactory solutions from time to time with things that they have no control over or even an unreasonable request. (replacing items that are well over a year old and obviously abused). HOWEVER. They always attempt a solution. I have never seen them hide behind policy as many of us consumers have seen in every industry. They genuinely care and want to help.

PET COUNTRY REVIEWS

To: OKittilotO & 1elpolloloco5 - I am the owner of Pet Country, in Conway, Arkansas. I am having issues with Google, so I can't specifically address your individual comments. However, I wanted to address the comments/concerns with each review.1elpolloloco5 - I would agree with you based on your review, that the condition of the animals you witnessed was poor, but that is not MY store. I'm not sure which pet store you were trying to review (as there are several Pet Country's in the US) - but know for sure you are not reviewing my Conway, AR store. We have owned Pet Country since 2010, and we have NEVER sold hedgehogs - ever. We have also never sold tadpoles - we have tadpoles in almost every pond, river, and lake located in Conway, so to me there is no point in selling what we have in nature - easily obtained for free.OKittilotO - the bird I assume you are referring to is Jada. She does not self harm - at all. If you are referring to the look of her wings, she plays on top of her cage, rolls around on her back & kicks her feet in the air. As a result, some of her feathers appear frayed, but I assure you they are not broken or harmed. She has never been depressed and has quite the sense of humor & is very mischievous. Both of our birds are well taken care of, played with by myself & staff multiple times daily, and customers play with them as well - most of the time behind the glass. We did remove the tray from the top of Jada's cage several month's ago hoping to help with the "look" of her wings. If either of you would like to come by the store and meet my staff and/or animals, please feel free to visit!!

Awesome saltwater fish slection & some very nice established tanks to look at. Cleaner than some pets shops I've been in but lacking a selection of mammals. Plenty of pet supplies though.

Much more cozy than bigger pet stores like Petco or petsmart. The animals are more used to humans because employees handle them while taking care of them until they are bought. The animals seem to be healthy and happy.

I thought it was a really cool pet store. However, when I went there, they had two large birds, not for sale, kept behind glass walls and a large cage for them to play in--open. However, one was a mixed breed, self-harming out of depression, obviously in distress from lack of attention. When I asked, they said the bird did it, something to the effect of "because she's bad, and she does it for attention/she's bored." A self-harming bird is not something to treat lightly and having a self harming bird on display is equivalent to having a person sit in the corner of your business, crying and slitting their wrists, and dismissing them.

Always a good experience, and they are the only place in town with Zignature. This is the only food my dog can eat, due to allergies. They have a punch card program, that you can get a free bag.

Excellent pet store. If they don't have it they will strive to get it for you. The customer service is top of the line. They are very knowledgeable in everything that they carry. I would recommend this store everyone over Petco or Petsmart.

Always has a friendly and helpful staff. They are my go to for flea control due to the fact that they sell them individually and that helps my budget out tremendously.

They know exactly what they are talking about. It's pricier than a chain store, but their products are better and they really care about animals.
