To the greasy slicked back gentleman that works at Dollar General he needs to have a little bit more respect for women. My mother and I went there and I had personal items in my cart and he had to hold them up in the air and ask me if I wanted them in a bag in front of numerous customers behind me. The second that a man walked up after we left, he was much more kind to that customer and didn’t even speak to us. I don’t appreciate being treated differently than a man. Dollar General needs to reconsider some people that they hire. I didn’t even wanna leave one star, but Google made me. The girl that works there was very kind and should get a raise.

They got a little bit of everything and the goods are priced so that ordinary people can enjoy buying there. What was especially nice (especially since I'm from San Diego County) was the personal services and friendly conversation with the Attendant.

The aisles were a mess, seasonal aisle was only passable on foot if you were careful enough to step over merchandise laying on the floor. Toy section was as much on the floor as on the shelf. Merchandise carts left everywhere through the store. Finally got to the cashier only to be gifted with one of the worst experiences ever. It was a complete train wreck of an experience. I have stopped here many times before and dealt with the clutter, but the cashiers were generally friendly. Today was not that day, I'll take my business elsewhere.

Store seriously in need of cleaning, organization and staff as well as some good management. This store is so disorganized. There is no continuity. Shelves are a mess and isles are very hard to get down as several times they are completely blocked. It seems that merchandise is not out in a timely manner. Sometimes boxes from warehousing are either in the isles or just sitting on shelves. It isn't a once or twice time issue. I have recently moved to this small town and really love it here. This store is truely the only general merchandise store in the area and it saddens me that it is in such disrepair. I've only seen the "manager" in the store a few time and I am there all times of day and evening. He doesn't seem like management personnel in most anyway. Slovenly dressed, bad personal hygiene, very impersonal and unhelpful . When most staff is ask where something is either they don't know or "don't have time to help you". I hate writing this review because I love DG Stores. I've lived with in a 50 mile radius of this area for over 40 yrs and have been very pleased by the growth of so many new DG's. I hope this in someway can help you to pinpoint area as that need attention.Very saddened customer

Mary Jane Reed could you please tell me why your cashier left paying customers standing at the counter to go out side? The store is a mess and I don't know what cashiers the other people who reviewed this store had but the one that helped us after she got back inside was impolite and very ill mannered.

Staff is SUPER nice. Always helpful. Remember their frequent customers. Great prices. Store is always clean. Restrooms are always clean. Way better than most other dollar generals.

Well being from Avoca.. I can honestly say I love dollar general.. it saves us many miles going to town.. I have to say our store needs stocked better at times because of how many customers we get there for sure.. But always kind and helpful

They have the most convenient locations when you are in a hurry or just don't want to make the drive to get to big name stores. Dollar General is a big name in our neck of the woods!

Did you know that if you keep beer stocked up and keep extra on hand that you could make more money than not having any at all? Sunday beer sales would be through the roof here in Avoca if you would plan ahead. You can't make money if the people with the money leaves and goes down the road to shop elsewhere.

I have always liked this location, the people here are always very nice and helpful. I tried the cart calculator for the first time today on the DG app and it worked exactly how it was supposed to.

Dollar General is also a great place to shop for they sell MANY items like food and clothes and DVDS and they take food stamps also, I shop there and Fred's store more than walmart's cause they are cheaper.
