Needs more cashiers day and night. An why isn't there any meat out at night? It's always empty. I can't get there early. An the selection sucks later. Besides that it gets a 4 because it's the only store in town an there's some nice employees.

I am an over the road truck driver. I went here at 9:00 pm to get some of the pre made pastas from the deli. I was greeted by Alexandria. She said sorry we're closed. I'm just cleaning up." I told her I was starving. I hadn't eaten all day, and I was driving my rig all day and how I was really hoping to get some pasta. She said okay I'm not supposed to do this." But pick what you want out. I asked for two salads. She then told me how the chicken salad was just made and how delicious it is. Full of protein. She asked if I wanted some of that as well. I gladly accepted! Give this girl a raise! She could've just closed up shop and went home. Instead she took five minutes out of her day to help someone in need. That's what it's all about! When working with the public! I Wish we had more people like this in the world. Or employees that just treated truck drivers so nicely. With so much compassion. I'll be doing all of my grocery shopping here from now on. Last time I tried to go grocery shopping at Wal Mart. I was being threatened they would call the cops on me and tow my rig away if I didn't move it. Even after how I explained how I was only just trying to get some food. Thank you, Safeway! I was nervous because the Safeway we used to go to (Tucson) was awful but this place is great! Always clean, well stocked, the people working have always been friendly and helpful. Definitely excited such a nice grocery store exists in this area. Especially since options are limited, makes a difference that this one is so lovely.

UPDATE!!!Look out for my BLOG starting early May about how Safeway and their "Wanna Be Manager Stacey" mistreat customers, accuse them of lying and way more. With daily Updates how they abuse being the only store in Willcox. And (hopefully) by July, we will offer free rides to Walmart in Benson. We are already negotiating with Walmart and several insurance Companies. I hope we get that going, so people can shop at Walmart.Absolutely the worst Safeway Store within a 200 mile Radius. They sent a great new manager, Carlos from Benson there to fix this mess. But everything is run by a mean, old Lady named Stacy. All the good ideas that Carlos might have, get turned around by this Lady, so nothing changes.Stacy's policy is that the Customer is always wrong.I got falsely accused of lying and many other things by her several times and I finally hired a Lawyer to get this Lady to Court very soon. She made more real good employees quit, because of the hostile work environment she creates. I wrote letters to their Company Headquarters, but they don't want to get involved. Well, in Court they will have to.They know, they are the only shop in town and some people have to shop there.It is better to take the trip to Benson or Safford and go to Safeway there or better, shop at Walmart.

Had the fry chicken! Best tastie chicken compared to the Vons and Albertsons fried chicken in California. My boys asked for 2nds. They don't usually ask for 2nds.

Descent prices, good selection and some of the staff was friendly. The produce guy was unfriendly and not helpful. The rest of the staff was friendly though.Update: friendly enough staff. No egg rolls, which is weird since they have other Chinese food.

We just drove 9 hours and wanted to pick up some essentials. Cali K was our checkout clerk and she left an impression! She was quick, solid and personable. It was the best experience I've had checking out in a grocery store in a long time! I don't usually leave reviews (especially of grocery stores), but she really stood out as exceptional!

Love this store, their french bread is always great especially when you can get it fresh! Their hot food is also pretty great though they tend to usually be low on potato wedges and Mac and cheese but their chicken is good too. I would also highly recommend their chicken pot pie

My husband drives an 18-wheeler. As you can imagine, fast food and truck stop fare is our general fare. We really wanted some real food today.Boy, oh boy, was the fried chicken real and REAL GOOD! Along with that, we had y'alls slaw and deviled egg potato salad. They were scrumptious, too!Not only was all that great, but so was the service, and the store was/really nicely set up, with a good variety of products.You can bet that our next trip out this was won't include fast food, because we'll be back for the chicken, potato salad and slaw! YUM YUM!(I'd have added photos of how good it looked, but it looked SO good that we forgot to take a picture and started eating!!

The Willcox Safeway is the saddest and one of the smallest I've ever seen, and it shouldn't be! It is and has been for YEARS, Willcox's only chain/national grocery store. They are the only game in town for many items and therefore, most of us shop there. A lot. And nothing improves. I believe they could expand into the empty space next to the store and give us aisles that can accommodate 2 carts at a time. And expand the tiny meat department, the small fruits and veggies, expand the entrance so you can comfortably and safely get in the front door and the list goes on and on!! All of the employees I've encountered have been helpful and awesome. Their service and attitudes belong in a bigger, cleaner, fresher, nicer store! And so do I and all the citizens in the area! Safeway- please put some of the money you are making off of us into the store we are supposed to spend our money in! And have adequate stock to accommodate us! I have gone to the store for specific ingredients and there were none. None! I have been denied cabbage (!), molasses, pork ribs, creamer, cheese(!) and tortillas! What?? So, I remember when this store opened- it was so nice and big and everyone was grateful and excited and that was a very, very long time ago. Nothing has changed. Even the store layout remains pretty much the same except everything is closer together, crowded, shrunken and old looking. Now I'm sad. Lol. But seriously, Safeway! Make our Willcox store a thing of function, variety and beauty asap! Willcox deserves it!!

Please I am begging you just install the self checkouts. I really do get that. We're trying to make some jobs for people in our area, but please give us the option to choose to self check out if we so choose.Today I was greeted by Anthony and Danny at the far east register. There were long lines at all. Registers open. Dani was bagging groceries. I really like groceries organized so that things that are cold go in first and stay cold together and that items are packed efficiently. I give up that control somewhat when allowing someone to bag my groceries. I was buying 10 kind bars and had them conveniently coded in one of the packages. I asked Dani that the bars go back into the package at the bottom of one of the paper bags. Anthony began painstakingly slowly organizing the bars back into the package." Anthony, please continue checking out the groceries and let your baggage packer continue and do her job" I directed"No it's fine I got it"" In order to keep the line moving and make most efficient use of all of our time. Please let Dani do it."He did not respond and finished the task wasting a minute of our time plus the 3 people behind us.Training on efficient use of time is in order.Dani however was kind and did as directed she was great."

Very clean and well stocked store with an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. There is a good variety of household products available and this store also has a small floral department with pre arranged and ready to go bouquets. The roses looked especially nice and fresh..

I went to buy squash, which was damaged and wilted. I tried to get 2 just for you products again. They weren't in stock as usual. This is the 4th time in the last month that the just for u items are out of stock. I don't know why I bothered to shop at Safeway.

This store has horrible customer service... it is a small town so you are generally forced to shop there or i would never step foot in it again..I have been told senior discount day is the first Thursday of every month, the third Wednesday of every month, the first Wednesday of every month... it is like a game.I have been told they are short handed in the deli so they are not slicing deli meat at 7pm..Prices are wrong nearly every time I go. Cashiers are not friendly or helpful and stand there like they have no clue if you have a question.Beware of this store it needs new management that can teach basic customer service skills and hire people who care!!

I worked as a Courtesy Clerk at Safeway when I was 17! I learned all about customer service. Either Safeway has dropped the ball, or they don’t have mystery shoppers anymore bc the friendliness was not there the day I went to pick up soda.

The only supermarket in town, which means they are really overpriced!! Since being under new management, there is a small selection, popular items are seldom stocked (if ever), I buy items and they end up being expired often, gotten moldy cheese, yogurt expired 1 month+ (I should check dates, but that's just ridiculous). I give three stars to the employees because they're super friendly and helpful. One and a half stars for the store itself.Edit: They've since put more product on the shelves, everything looks nice, prices are still high but when it's the only grocery store in town you don't always have a choice where to shop. Changed my rating to four stars.

We stayed at Days Inn and discovered this GEM of a store. Such friendly folks here. Got a few grocery items for our hotel stays. I asked produce gal for an orange box and she immediately handed me one and made sure it was clean. Upon checkout, the cashier thanked us for shopping there.

Clean.Accesible staff.Would like to see more gluten-free products, tho.And some good tasting corn tortillas... Noticed they recently got a new brand of flour ones that taste more authentic than what they usually sell there. A+.

Clean store with good variety.Staff is friendly and pricing is pretty good considering they are really the only grocery store in town.The big problem Safeway has right now is there discount pricing for priducts.If an item is on sale they tag for the item can have up to four different prices listed and you may not be able to tell which one you will end up paying at the register. It is very confusing and the employees dont even know how it works. Even if the employees understand a particular price setup it may not work properly in their computer system.

Generally they have what you need in a pinch. My Wife and I go elsewhere though as the prices are very high. The staff are very nice. The other problem is they run out of stock quite often. Probably due to not having enough help. Which is common everywhere. I only shop here when I actually run out of something that I don't wish to drive to Safford, Benson, or Tucson for.

Good place for your shopping list a bit expensive.Gets 3 stars for someone from the store came out and told a young couple playing a violin to leave the premises. Too bad, don’t forget music brings people together.

With inflation and prices on basic items skyrocketing, it's disappointing that a coupon is needed to get a (still high) but decent price, or have to shop on a certain day to get the "deal." No thanks. I'm done jumping through hoops for Safeway.
