The staff here is amazing. My journey to Summit Hut was for a prized pair of Lowa Hiking Boots The British sales lady did careful foot sizing checks, and then asked me to try the boots on.After I bought my boots, the helpful lady found some SuperFeet insoles for me. We had to make sure to find one that matched my foot arch. She even trimmed the SuperFeet for me. Her service was really above and beyond.The quality of the service and the hiking boots/insoles were top notch. My feet feel great, and each step is like a leap. I'm able to walk many miles without foot pain.These Lowa Hiking Boots last years. In fact, i came all the way from the Philippines just to buy these boots in-person. The excellent service made my visit even more memorable.

I went in to try and find shoes to help with my foot pain. I walk/ hike daily and need comfort and support. The salesperson was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I am now walking comfortably. I always receive great service at Summit Hut!

Perfect example of the importance of supporting local merchants. Amazing staff, Dave spent significant time with me helping to understand why my old boots were killing me, and making sure the new ones would not (test drove them already, they work like a dream). He had detailed knowledge of the boot structure and how it would interact with my gait and the terrain I am planning to hike on. Gave great advice on other products and on my destination Grand Canyon. This interaction has sealed my loyalty. Also recently had a fabulous experience w/ packs with the female employee with British accent....

Have bought a handful of items from these guys over the years. Couldn't be happier. Just recently they got me a rope bag in two days that I ordered. Plenty of time before a trip down to do some canyons. Jack was the guy who helped me out. Great shop. Wish they were closer to me in Utah, but I'll settle for buying things from afar.Thanks again.

What a great experience getting hiking boots. Alex was patient, perfect sizing and knew just what shoe size I needed in different styles. This was huge for me! After trying on soo many hiking shoes from Amazon just wasn’t working out. I decided I better go to a professional hiking shop and do happy I did! Here’s the best part… there’s a small bridge created down slope with artificial rocks to get a feel for the traction and stability you need. AND you can try them on your trail whatever terrain. If for any reason they didn’t feel like a good fit you could exchange them but MUST SAVE TBE RECEIPT! What a wonderful experience. It’s a little pricier but sooo worth it.Go to the professionals here and save yourself the anxiety and frustrations of finding the right fit. Alex was wonderful. Thank you so much!!!!

The man working in the shoe area was the kindest most patient person I've ever met. He was very knowledgeable and helped me find shoes that didn't hurt my feet. Would definitely recommend for anyone that has difficulty finding comfortable shoes.

Super helpful employees care about your fun, safe hiking experience, not making a sale. But they have a great return policy on new hiking shoes, as well as carrying wool socks that have a lifetime replacement for wearing them out. You get what you pay for here, and I'll be returning!!

They have a great inventory of everything from back packs, to tents, camping gear, climbing equipment, hiking shoes, clothing and more. Their staff is knowledgeable and ready and willing to share their expertise. Locally owned and operated, so I view my purchases as an investment in our community.

Visited but didn't buy this trip but staff was helpful, store clean and organized. Was advised of an upcoming sale. They carry some "better" and sometimes higher priced brands (think Patagonia) in clothing so definitely not a Walmart shoppers experience. Have purchased camping equipment there and was very satisfied.

We stopped at this store during our winter month in the sun and warmth of Tucson. While I was impressed with the brands it carried, NONE of the items we wanted to buy were available in our size (medium). You would think a town that caters to snowbirds would have summer clothing in stock. The first two clerks that were assisting us did not know how to use its computer system very well, but fortunately Olivia stepped in and took over the computer searches. Olivia knew exactly how to search for the sizes we wanted and once she discovered they weren’t available, she graciously wrote down the names of each one and the requested sizes so that we could order them directly from the supplier when we return home later this week. Olivia was great to work with, very informative and quite knowledgeable about Summit Hut’s computer system. The company should be aware of what a great employee it has.

Not the widest selection for each category but they have many different categories for a variety of disciplines. The staff are very nice and helpful, and as well it’s locally owned. My only complaint is that it’s a little pricy. Still a nice place to go for outdoor equipment.

I really like this place and have shopped here (and their previous location) for a couple of decades.What keeps me coming back is that the store associates are very helpful but not in a sales-y way. They are friendly in a I-use-this-and-have-this-first-hand-recommendation way.Their selection is pretty good, but the people are solid and actively use the equipment they sell. They have maps, books, boots, camping, sleeping, hiking, and pet stuff.Their return policy is great, and they stand by their stuff.

My husband and I are completely new to hiking and have almost zero knowledge about what we would need in a pack, but Alex walked us through the ins and outs of choosing a versatile day pack with hydro-pack insert. I was having serious choice paralysis until he asked if we needed help. He helped with fit, size, and our needs on the trail. We also bought some trail runners and Miranda was so helpful as well! She is super cool and fun to chat with. Also, very knowledgeable as well! She got us both in some shoes that fit extremely well. Basically these two totally outfitted us beginners so we feel capable to hit the trails. If you are just starting out or unsure of what to get, go to Summit Hut! The people that work here are extremely helpful and professional and gave us recommendations based on their actual experience with the gear without the sales pitch. You could tell they wanted you to get the right gear for you, for the shared love of the outdoors. We will be back!

My wife and I were in the store on 1/1/23. We were shopping for hiking sneakers. We didn't find anything to our liking. The store has all types of equipment for camping and hiking. Their clothing line is great and the sales staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We will probably be back when we are ready for some hiking clothes.

This place is sooooooo much better than REI. They had so many more options in different brands. I wished that REI would carry what Summit Hut does. I was able to find hats for both of my toddler boys, a sweet Salomon running pack for myself and tons of clothes that we haven’t seen any where else but the internet.

As far as their magnificent warranty, the nipple on the waist water pack popped of and was lost on the trail. I contacted ospreyand they could only SELL me a cap for $6.00 and a $5.00 delivery fee. Not much of a warranty if you ask me..
