Best low cost vet in Tucson. It’s crowded, and patience is required, but they care and I saved thousands. Their team is dedicated and I felt comfortable bringing my pups and my kitty here. Worth the drive across town. Very experienced practice.

The staff is friendly, from the phone to the first person you see as you walk in. They are truly concerned for your pet. This place was a great find! I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my Penny Sue!!Thank you all for taking care of my baby ❤️

I am so grateful for the Santa Cruz Vet Clinic! My dog has had a growth above her eye for months, and I spent a long time doing research and trying to figure out how to get it affordably removed. This clinic was able to see her promptly, perform the procedure beautifully, and she's healing so well in only 2 days! This staff is efficient, compassionate, and incredibly capable while still somehow keeping base prices WAY below any other quotes I have received. I highly recommend this place for any care your four-legged babies need!

Very busy place. If it is your first time here you wait in line to get your paperwork. You can leave your pet in the car. Fill out paperwork then get in line again. They give you a pager. When they call you then bring in your pet. I took in 3 cats.

My dog had an emergency enucleation at this clinic. Everyone at Santa Cruz was amazing. The front office staff was compassionate and helpful. The surgery was done quickly. They answered all of our questions and when I had concerns they had me come so they could look at how her eye was healing. My dog is now thriving with one eye. I am so grateful to have a quality, low-cost clinic in Tucson. Thank you so much!!!!

Customer service FRONT OFFICE is terrible. One lady working there is just sitting there looking lost. The other one is rude. You have an 8am appointment. Waite in line for 30 minutes in line just to be handed paperwork and told to go wait outside and fill out the paperwork and again wait to be called. APPOINTMENT means nothing. On my 1st visit, James Maciulla was very informative and answered all my questions. Sasha and I will be going to Arizona Spay Nutter for her surgery. Unorganized front office. Plus, THEY NEVER ANSWER THEIR PHONES.

I agree with everyone who gave one star. I also had multiple negative experiences with the morning check-in staff. I wasn't allowed to sign in on the clipboard until "she" was ready. I also requested paperwork to have my cats chipped and her response was "I'll give it to you when you get back in line." Which was 3 times! CRAZY! I also had the "manager" raise her voice at me for no reason and with no respect. I believe race played a part because I did noticed how I was treated compared to some of the other customers. And now how my poor cats were treated. 3 of my cats came back from surgery saturated in urine, one was a community cat. Do they not check up on their post-op pets? One cat had a hard time recovering from anesthesia. When I called the clinic I was told she had a late surgery and she'll be fine. I wonder if the government knows how they are treating our pets?

Loved the staff but hated the reason we had to go. We had to say goodbye to our 9 year old Boxer who developed cancer. The staff were so respectful and gentle every step of our difficult journey. They were very professional and soothing despite how hard it was for us. They came highly recommended from a long-time family friend who knows the owner's. I can see why they are so highly recommended. No stars could measure how much we appreciated them as much as a piece of all our hearts 💔 was left there with our beloved pet. Somehow, I think they would have given equally professional help to anyone who comes there. We highly recommend them. We drove 35 min just to be at a place where we felt we could trust them, and they never once let us down. The rates for services here are excellent. Thank you to the team that helped us on 7-07-23. I'm sure your work can be very hard emotionally sometimes, and we appreciate you all. We know that our sweet Roxy is playing blissfully in Doggie Heaven now. Here is our sweetie when she was about 5 yrs old.

We took our 12 yr old Momma dog to be put down after losing her battle with cancer. My dog was shown respect and love. The services are affordable and week later we got a sympathy card 😔 Thank you for everything 🙏 ❤️.

When my elderly service dog developed cancer, the people at Santa Cruz were extremely considerate and kind. They set up a quiet room for us to be able to say goodbye. They were very gentle with her and allowed me to stay as long as I needed to after it was over. Other places I contacted asked for triple the price for the procedure or wouldn't allow me to be with her through her passing. A week later, I was very moved and surprised to receive a condolence card in the mail. This is the most difficult time for any pet partner to go through. They took care of me as much as they cared for my beautiful girl. Thank you!

Dr Karter is amazing and so are the techs!! I trust Santa Cruz with my dog that has Addison's disease. He went in for a dental and was so well taken care of! Staff is knowledgeable and I trust them with any surgery my dog may need!

Front desk staff was helpful and understanding with the stress of dealing with a potential infected spay site. Were able to see my kitty fast, and begin her on antibiotics quickly for her comfort.

These folks are the unsung heroes of people who try and mitigate Tucson's feral cat population. It's controlled chaos every time I've gone there with a cat in need of spay or neutering. The staff is excellent! Professional and kind in equal measures dealing with a perennial problem that's not going to go away anytime soon. God bless them let's hope they stay funded.

I had to euthanize my dog, she had become paralyzed in her hind legs. The staff were very compassionate and I was able to cuddle my baby as she went to sleep. It took 30 seconds for her to go to sleep. The doctor said "take all the time you need",after 25 minutes of holding her, my friend had to escort me out, otherwise I was never going to let go. After, on the way home, I felt peaceful, I did not grieve, I felt at rest with her passing.Thank you Santa Cruz Vet and all the staff for the wonderful experience and empathy.

Called this morning concerned about hard lump on my dogs jaw/ neck area it’s April 22nd they told me “unfortunately no appointments until June”. I’m a regular patient needless to say this is not what I expected in what I consider an urgent situation. No empathy no questions just “sorry”Needless to say, I won’t put my dogs care in Santa Cruz veterinary in the future.

Dr Hailey Griffin and Dr Karter Neal are amazing and caring every time I need one of my pets taken care of I go to this clinic. The Doctors and staff are dedicated and care for your animals as if they were their own pets.Prices are reasonable, they explain everything to you about the problem, giving medication and follow up care. I will never go anywhere else.

Nice ppl, spoke with Susan yesterday she was so lovely over the phone. I have been feeding 2 stray kittens in my backyard now the hardest part is putting them in a crate carefully without too much trauma :) They need TNR

They don’t even deserve the one star but you have to put something. WORST experience ever!!!! The staff doesn’t listen, all they see is what they want and not what’s best for the animal. The building is run down and animals were lined up in carriers on the floor in the lobby area. They say they will do a wellness check on strays that aren’t old enough or big enough to be fixed but when you get to the clinic, all they cared about was that the kitten was too small to be fixed they didn’t even do the wellness on the kitten. Very unhappy and WILL NEVER use this place since all they want to do is spay/neuter animals.I thought vets cared for sick and injured animals too? Guess not!Worthless!!!!!!

Man, the Santa Cruz Vet Clinic plays no games ! They are strong warriors moving at lightening speed in order to provide the best treatment possible. I brought in a feral cat that was scared out of her mind which then I became very nervous myself and I left a voice mail message and no kidding the clinic called me back in maybe 10 minutes. I was able to bring the cat in and bing bang boom they spayed her and gave her shots FOR FREE! Thank you all!

Dr. Neal truly does care about animals, and she’s been the greatest help to me and my dog, which disheartens me because she is the only reason why this isn’t a one-starred review. To preface, yes, this is a low cost veterinarian. But you get what you pay for.The building has deteriorated over the last few years, and little has been done to keep it updated and safe for staff, clients, and pets. The kennel area is sketchy and does not seem cleaned, which I presume is why they ask you to stay in the waiting area. I’ve had the exam rooms have pee in it before I’ve been invited in, which leads me to believe they aren’t thoroughly cleaned between each visit. My last visit there were several spots of pee on the floor, including on the scale, and it did not feel nor smell clean.I will give credit, there are a couple of sweetheart technicians that really do care about animals. But many of them don’t, they’re there for a paycheck and are rude to everyone who walks in. There is a sheet to sign in, which I know this, but every visit the staff has yelled at other visitors to sign in or they aren’t going to be seen. Why yell? There are anxiety-ridden animals in the waiting area. If there isn’t a bilingual technician in the office, Spanish-speaking clients are treated horribly and often put on the back-burner.The management can be just as bad. They often aren’t seen by the public, but they are not knowledgeable in pet health and will often speak without knowing context. Now onto their unethical and unprofessional practices:My first “bad” visit was in 2020 when the pandemic hit. At this time you could not enter the office (understandable). My dog would not walk with the technicians so I offered to carry him to the door. They yelled at me to stay in my car. So I did. Their solution was to yank on his leash by his neck, which was scaring him. I let him know that he was friendly and under 50 pounds, that he could be carried, and they ignored me to continue pulling on his leash. He yanked back and ran towards 12th avenue. I got out of my car and called him back. They ended up carrying him like I had suggested. This could have ended so badly. My last visit, my dog was seen by an actual veterinarian for only about 5 minutes, and in that visit, she told me my dog had a grade 2 heart murmur and possibly heart disease (I would need to run tests which would be at least $500). When I said I would bring him back in two weeks to get his heart checked again, she said “well he’s an old dog, so he doesn’t really have much time left anyway.” He’s 8. Come to find out when I couldn’t get records of his supposed “heart murmur,” that it was never actually recorded, no one knew what vet I was talking about, and that veterinarian was Charletta Begaye, a SUBSTITUTE from a different vet office! The fact that no one (including myself) had no clue who diagnosed my dog is terrifying! My frustrating experience today tops everything else, when I found out they had lost his records for about 3 years. I need to provide past documentation for my apartment complex, so I inquired about his weight when he was first seen at Santa Cruz Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Neal has seen Bolt since he was a year old, and yet all my data from 2016-2018 was purged. I am so lucky I still have the physical print outs of his surgeries and other records! When I expressed concern over this, I was implied to be a liar because I filled out the Owner Registration Form when they switched over computer systems. The technician and manager argued with me over this. Manager Maria K. suggested I put him on a weight loss plan to get him down to 35 pounds. Which is ridiculous. My dog would be malnourished at that weight. Even the other technician agreed that was too much weight loss. My frustration stems from the fact that his visits are missing from their records, which is such a malpractice. This was such a hard review to write, as I’ve been with this vet for so long. I’ve now decided to remove my dog from their care and find another, more reliable, veterinarian office.

The spray experience was amazing but when I called for an appt for a possible ear infection, she said call back in January for a February appt. Very rude and lacking compassion. All she had to say was "I'm sorry but we don't have anything until possibly February". I will not be going back there or referring anyone else.

I set up an appointment for my cat to get neutered over the phone which was really simple and when I took him in the staff was very friendly and helpful and I could really tell there was some true animal lovers working there. I felt good leaving my cat in their hands. Later on I picked up my cat and payed $60 for the neuter which I feel is a really good price. The veterinarian took the time to explain to me the after care instructions which was extremely helpful. His incicion looked very well done and he healed up really fast with no issues. My brother will be taking his cat here to get spayed soon and I would 100% be willing to return to this clinic.

Honestly I'm not one to complain but I'm hoping this review helps people choose a better vet clinic. I took my dog in to get neutered and the staff in the morning was super nice and quick but when I went to pick him up the lady at the front desk was rude. Then when she brought out my dog he was covered in dried poop and pee like he had been sitting in it in the kennel all day. This really made me upset because a helpless animal shouldnt be sitting in his own filth following surgery, the staff needs to be checking on the surgery patients throught the day. They also didn't mention that he needed a cone right out of surgery, if I had known this I would've given them the nice one I purchased for him instead of paying for a cheap plastic one in addition. It's cheap but consider going somewhere else if you want to make sure your animal is in good hands.

Wonderful place to bring your animals. Provide healthy services, for pets at affordable prices. And for the most part, the people in their animals are so kind. And it's fun to connect!
