It's alright. Just be careful buying alcohol here—since this store is closest to the college they're very strict and sometimes even rude about it if you don't know the process. I've also seen aluminum foil on the ground by the entrance here. Gotta love the dopehead vagrants of Tucson! Not.

Recently visited the store and had the distinct pleasure of being checked out by Ana.Due to what I consider to be excessively high pricing, I only go to Albertsons or Safeway for the weekly sale items.Safeway is not a store that I shop at with any regularity.Anna more than made up and compensated for my lack of familiarization with the digital coupon situation, assisting me without being judgemental.I found her demeanor to be exceptionally pleasant, and extremely professional.It's truly refreshing to experience customer service at such a high level.

I love Safeway but I had a coupon that wasn’t working and was told it was because my store location was wrong but the other coupons worked and this has happened before and they always just fix it but the self checkout clerk was so unhelpful and I’ve honestly never had a Safeway experience as awful as today and it makes me sad. Every other Safeway in town is so nice and helpful when their app doesn’t work but I’m not waiting 20 minutes to see if the coupons maybe works.

The lady’s working your self checkout area never know up from down. tried to buy the strawberries that was advertised on sale today both in the Safeway flyer AND in store at the produce section. They tried to charge me $4, I canceled the item and the self checkout lady told me she doesn’t know why everyone keeps talking about $1.49 strawberries. I told her if she’d walk her lazy self over to the produce aisle or look in the flyer she’d see why. She didn’t and I didn’t but the strawberries. 😂 also, the kid you have in the hot foods and deli section who chops his own hair off in patches wipes his nose on the back of his hand, side of his hand and under wrist and then proceeds to serve us food. Super gross! We stopped going to your deli because of it which is really sad because we bought deli meats, cheeses and hot foods there almost every day or so until you moved him in there.

At check-out the *checker was speaking with other employees rather than with me. Finally she greeted me while ringing things up. I paid for the items. She left the several bags laying on the counter in front of her telling me to have a great day before greeting the next customer and ringing him up. The shopping basket was pushed up next to her counter, so I grabbed my bags from the counter to put into my basket. She kind of pushed the bags towards me and said have a WONDERFUL day... I believe that customer service or cashiers should completely finish a transaction before moving on to the next. Also, I may seem healthy and fit, but I am a senior. Maybe she could've helped with putting the bags in the basket. Meh. Another average grocery store. *My receipt reads cashier's name was Marissa*Follow-up to owner's response: I did try to use the Contact Us method. When I hit submit, it failed to go through. I was patient and tried several times, but no go. So, I wrote this Google review.

It's always stocked and has a very good range of different things to choose from in the deli selection. I live 5 hours away and we don't have as much variety as this one does. They also have an awesome fresh sushi selection again something my home town doesn't have.

I just want to give a shoutout to Amaria my cashier this morning, March 2nd at the Broadway/Campbell location.She was very friendly and bagged my groceries with like items of that same category. I was very impressed as I find this not to be the norm at most stores. Thank you for doing that and making my shopping experience there a pleasant one! 😁

I like coming here but recently on 7/12/2020 I was shopping and came across some nasty looking sandwich meat that had clearly went bad! I couldn’t believe my eyes and make me wonder how many other products are like this! Or how clean this store is. There needs to be better care into the store and be on top of your employees. Unacceptable because if someone would eat this that’s a lawsuit!

Probably the worst experience I have ever had while shopping. The lady at self checkout named Ana is racist and accuses anyone of color of stealing. She only checks the receipts of people like me and accused me of stealing when I have never stolen anything in my life. I asked for a manager and she told me to leave the store and pushed me. Couldn’t believe the experience. Do not go here! Looking at other reviews many of the complains are similar to my experience.

Fresh veggies!Pros: This store is clean and well organized. The display of beautiful fruits and vegetables is inviting.Cons: The lines were incredibly long. There were only two lines open for more than 10 customers per line. Overall, a really nice store.

Pure opinion on this one, THIS LOCATION is great!I grew up going to Safeway, as it was the nearest supermarket, and that's pretty much what it is. This location is in a nice area of town, nearby the University, and seems to simply *have more* of stuff I can't seem to find anywhere else. This location is simply getting it right in terms of service, cleanliness, keeping fresh products on the shelf. I literally go out of my way to this location versus closer ones. I can rely on fresh produce, quality cuts of meat from the butcher, and the occasional great sale.Regrettably, *some* other locations are sub-par, and I either avoid unless I'm desperate, or straight out won't deal with.With that said, this location, is probably the best in Tucson. Store is always clean, well stocked, helpful, ...never been disappointed by a less than fresh item. Not go out of their way to create an awesome shopping experience level helpful, but they'll tell you what aisle to check without breaking stride. "Understaffed, but professionally managed". They always have a lot of busy checkout lanes open versus really pushing self checkout, and probably twice the number of cashiers of any other Safeway I've been to, and makes sense. They're always busy, because they're doing things right..."

Customer service and things like ethics are dead in commerce and retail. That's what happens though when love is removed from society. 2nd time at this location. Overall store is good but the deli is very slow. I was the only person waiting to be served and 3 employees wandered around behind the counter not even acknowledging I was there. I thought about asking for a manager but there’s no use in complaining.When I finally was helped the person cut the wrong brand of turkey breast which I didn’t notice until I got the package. Ended up paying more for less. Last time I asked for thinly sliced cheese and it was super thick, again paying more for less. Other locations provided great customer service in the deli dept, but this location is below par. I shop at both Safeway and Fry’s to budget the best I can so it was really disappointing when I went over my budget due to employee errors

I habitually check expiration dates on items in buying because I want to know its shelf life in my pantry. Well, I came across expired and soon to expire mayonnaise and let a nearby employee know about it. It was his action that convinced me to give the store 5 stars. He really cared about the aged product and quickly got someone over to pull the item off the shelves. That's customer care. That's work pride. He apologized for the expired product and took immediate action to rectify the issue. That's worth 5 stars, IMHO.

The store is neat and clean. The shelves are stocked well, but nighttime self-check out makes checking out a full cart of groceries exasperating. There isn't enough room on the counter for a carts worth. It was early 8:00 and no cashiers were available. One was on break, and he said she should be done soon. We stood in front of the registers with our dilemma, a cart to the top with groceries. We stood there for ten minutes and she never came back. We had to succumb to self check out. My husband was really angry. There should always be one person at the register at all times. What happened to service? They are saving money by forcing me to ring up a cart load of my own groceries. That is ridiculous and maddening. You should give me a kick back to ring up my groceries. I do not work for Safeway, and if I am going to do their job and work for them, then I should get a discount!! My husband says if this keeps up, we will stop shopping at Safeway. :(

9 times out of 10 they are out of all the items from their weekly deals. It wouldn’t be a big deal if it was later in the day but I will go at 8-9 am and every item part of any weekly deal is completely gone and they don’t restock 🤦‍♀️ I go to any other Safeway and it’s never a problem. It gets a bit ridiculous when it happens every week for 8-9 months. I’m going to have to go out of my way to go to a different one because they can’t keep anything stocked. 😮‍💨

Pretty standard grocery store, but for some reason never has enough carts. You have to wander all over the parking lot to find one since there aren't any in the store for some reason. Tried that today, couldn't find a single cart so I just got back in my car and went to target instead. Could be managed better, customers should be able to shop there.

Borderlands is a wonderful right off of downtown. Brewery tucked away for a perfect Tucson indoor or outdoor evening. The walls are covered with local art and rustic wood. Their beer selection is absolutely incredible and given nod to some local flavors such as Horchata, Prickle Pear Wheat or a summertime, watermelon, sour.They have seasonal rotations and have even recently incorporated a slushy version of some of their drinks. Even though they specialize in their brews, they also have wine and various spirit collection. (I’ve had a $2 tequila shot during an event).They are known for hosting really cool events, such as art classes, organization, gatherings, and music. They also have a taco truck that is built right next-door that works in collaboration with the brewery itself. Who doesn’t love beer and tacos?

Been shopping here for two years and haven't had a complaint until recently. Michael, who was working at self checkout at 8:20pm on the date of this review and has worked that same station for at least several months, has absolutely offensive body odor. Wash yourself, sir. Somebody in management needs to have a discussion w him because it hasn't been just once or twice but every time I see him it's just awful.
