It was adequate but has gone straight downhill over the last couple years. Insane prices, rarely even one open checkout lane, way understaffed, shelves understocked, empty bakery bins in the a.m., sell-by dates on meat that my nose disagrees with. I feel bad for the few long-time hard working staff. We see and appreciate YOU guys!

We were at the your store today and my wife is a diabetic and was having a low sugar. I want to commend two kids at the Starbucks in the store for helping her she was having a low sugar and needed something quick. Aiden and Jack helped my wife find the right drink that will get the sugar back to safe levels. Thanks for all your help

This particular store features an all-original ready-made deli consisting of in-house only created lunchable favorites including fresh meat & cheese sandwiches, wraps, California rolls, & all imaginable salad varieties, pizza, cheese, and so very much more! Wow! I like the way the whole store is laid out, it all seems so COLORFUL and WELCOMING. It's an awful lot of product to display the wonderful way they do, yet they seem to do so almost effortlessly. Bravo!

I used to go here every week. One morning I know I wasn't looking my best but I needed to use the restroom. I asked the first person I saw. They told me where it is n it needed a code. So I asked n she said she couldn't give it to me. If she wasn't going to offer it then she shouldn't have mentioned the bathroom in the first place. I ask someone else if there's a reason y someone wouldn't offer n they said there's a lot of homeless around. They said I don't look suspicious n they wouldn't know y she'd be so rude. I'm never coming back if I'm going to be profiled so critically.

Always have issues with my pick up order. This is the 3rd time. I’m done. Ordered 16 pc of chicken and when I got home there was one tiny small chicken in a bag in there. Not even enough to feed my entire family for the night. Start paying attention to what people order. And no it wasn’t a substituted item. Going to start going up the street to Albertsons as I have never had an issue there. Also there is always a ton of homeless people at this location asking for money or standing by your vehicle while you wait.

It's always a positive experience for me each and every time I visit this store. Everything is extremely easy to find, while the staff are always friendly and helpful.

I went to this Safeway, which is usually my favorite, but not anymore. I went to purchase my groceries and a bottle of alcohol. When I got up to the register, the tall and lanky cashier checked my ID but told me I wasn’t allowed to purchase the alcohol due to having my vertical, under-21-years-of-age license, even though I am 22 now. The license is still valid and doesn’t expire until 2027. He then had the short and stout manager with glasses come over, and he then proceeded to tell me the same thing. Because I have a weird and difficult living circumstance and I’m from a different state. I’m not too worried about getting a horizontal license when I currently have a valid license, not to mention in the state of AZ, you don’t need a horizontal license to drink anymore . I called a rep from Safeway and they told me I was allowed to get the alcohol and that the manager and cashier were wrong. These places are run by stupid lazy people.

We shop here regularly. Only reservation is they often only offer self-serve checkout with zero to two "live" cashiers available. I don't like self checkouts at all!

This was a peaceful shopping experience. The butcher went out of his way to get me what I came for, steak! Look at the prices. This will be my store from now on. Also the produce department was beautiful, it almost looked like fake fruit, lol.

I have shopped many store in area this store is smaller than others, Avg Stocking, store is clean, this store stands out in its helpfulness the cashiers or attendant are very courteous, and ready to help, My only problem is not the store but on a corporate level the coupon system and app is not rewarding as other stores and confusing to use it’s a good thing the employees pull the weight for this store they make this place worth shopping at.

A good store with decent pricing and all the usual fixings that a Safeway has to offer. A bit tragic their public seating area was still closed despite dropping COVID cases. It would be encouraged for management to change the plastic covers on their credit card terminals more frequently.

One of the better ones. Clean Nd pretty good on getting out of there, except when your store has no cashiers for some reason, and the technology is always faulty

My overall experience was good I was going through some of the comments and I agree with some of them prices might be a little higher but I usually go around those items and get them when they're on sale by the way Safeway has very good sales just keep an eye out for them. Yes they are short on carts that's from people taking them from the lot. When leaving the store almost at closing I saw young woman wrangling the the carts from the lot by herself and that's what I look at when I shop somewhere the employees that go out of their way for something small or something big I will definitely stop there every time I have a chance I don't live on that side of town family members do every time I'm in the area I like stopping there four different items depending on what I'm craving that day.I live in the Broadway and Camino seco area. Keep it up Safeway employees good workers any day of the week , no matter what time it is!!!!!!

Very nice store. The cashier's are super awkward and not very social or happy, except for the female's and the really tall guy at the front. Other than that all the other employees aren't very welcoming.

I used to think this was the nicest Safeway in town. Not anymore. It has gone totally downhill. For one thing, they NEVER have any carts. This has been an ongoing issue for the past couple of years. They've tried to blame it on everything from the pandemic to the homeless, to they order carts but they don't show up, every excuse in the book. Funny thing is, no other stores in much worse areas have this issue. Plus staff has gotten very rude about it. They don't care! I even heard them tell one gentleman if he wanted a cart to go find one himself. How are you supposed to shop for more than a few items with no cart? Also, the app they force you to use if you want any of the sale prices constantly glitches and doesn't give the advertised price. Check your receipt carefully. And finally, as others have said, prices here are significantly higher than other chains in the area. I think the only thing keeping this store open is it's location. There aren't any other stores in this area of Silverbell and Grant. But I will start driving down to the Albertson's or going to Fry's further down Grant in the future for my big grocery shopping trips. I'll run into this one for milk, etc, but won't do my big shopping here anymore until improvements are made. Today was the final straw.

Was going there just to get something to drink. Good timing on my part. The wings they had for lunch were amazing. Many different flavors great tasting any at a good price.

I love to shop at Safeway I save like no other places I have ever shopped at. I even shop here on a weekly basis and the staff are nice and helpful. However the pickup orders could use some help. Most of the time my bread is smashed and my other food items are overloaded into one bag and are extremely heavy Inever had them even double bagged to balance out the weight. Totally unacceptable.

Visiting from out of state, stopped to purchase groceries for the week.Cashier Nilla needs to spend less time talking and more time doing her job. We stood in line for at least 20 minutes while she rang up & bagged the purchases of 2 men ahead of us, repeatedly stopping what she was doing for the conversation. At one point we commented to a shopper behind us in line about how Nilla was talking so much and were told "she's always like that" ( !).My adult daughter finally was the next customer, at which point Nilla proceeded to converse solely with another employee about her upcoming lunch break. My daughter was neither greeted, nor thanked, nor indeed, ever acknowledged in any way. When it was my turn, I went to the end of the work area and told Nilla if she would send everything down to me, I would bag my own groceries. Anything to speed up the process. She did so initially, but then proceeded to start a conversation with the next customer in line.Which caused her to once again work slower and stop repeatedly to focus on the conversation. We even pointed out to her that our ice cream had gone very soft and was in danger of melting. Nilla said nothing in response. In fact, I also was never greeted nor thanked, the only words spoken to me at all were about one of the items she was ringing up.If we had not had the majority of our purchases already on the conveyor belt, I would have changed lines. Or left the store. At one point, there were probably 8 customers waiting to check out, with only 2 cashiers working. This on a Saturday afternoon of a holiday weekend ! I estimate it was 40 minutes from the time we got in line until we walked out. The person we came to Tucson to see is recovering from recent back surgery and found it very difficult & painful to stand in line for that ridiculous amount of time.

The young men are very helpful, since I'm in a wheelchair and need asistance in getting items off the shelves they willing help me. It is a great help to me plus they ring it up at the cashier with a smile on their faces. I never gave Safeway much thought but I tell you they are the only store I have seen that goes out of their way to heep a disabled person. Good job Safeway and I really appreciate it. Thanks

This used to be one of my favorite Safeway stores. No longer. For the last 6 months or so they never seem to have any carts. And I mean like ANY carts - and I am not shopping at odd or even busy times.Because they rarely have carts anymore. I am not bothering to shop here. I can't do a big shop if I can't have a cart to do it with. This seems like common sense which seems to be escaping the management of the store.I hope that they someday rectify the cart thing so I can start shopping here again, until then, I'm heading north to Fry's.

There is a produce associate named Matt who really enjoys helping people who need assistance in that department. He is attentive to stocking cut-up-fruit bowls and, at the same time, is aware of shoppers near him. He greets them and makes them feel welcome. He told me he is fairly new there and that he hopes to be there a long time. There is a lot behind the scenes that he is learning, and he loves it. His main focus, though, is on the customers that come into his store and his department in particular. This Safeway hires good people who enjoy helping others leave the store with smiles on their faces and in their hearts.

This has been my local Safeway for 25 years. Over the last year this store has gone from very good to absolutely disastrous. They installed self checkout and even though they have about 6 or 7 cashiers stations they usually only use one cashier. The lone cashier seems to be the slowest they could provide. They must have cut back on employees because they never have any shopping carts available. If you need one you need to walk around the parking lot looking for one. If you are REALLY lucky you might find one that has four good wheels. Never any functional carts by the entry ( like the good old days).Recently they have shown a major insult to the customers by locking the bathrooms and requiring you to hunt down an employee (who are hard to find) to unlock the door. They don’t give you the code, you have to wait until they can find an employee to let you in. The one person by the self check can’t leave the area so they call someone and you wait. As a 72 year old man there are times I need the restroom NOW and can’t wait the extra five minutes to have someone open it. This is also embarrassing for a customer who has to beg to use the bathroom. This store went from a good neighborhood grocery to a dysfunctional, poorly managed embarrassment. I now drive the extra one mile south to Albertsons. They have available shopping carts inside the store, usually at least two real cashiers and a bathroom that you can use without begging for a code and waiting for some available stock boy to open. Funny that these stores are owned by the same corporation. Corporate headquarters should just close this Safeway as it is BAD.
