First of all, I want to say that pima animal care center is making great strides helping these animals. The shelter doesn't ruin them, the owners do. To the person that surrendered Buddy a 7 yr male Wirehair terrier in December of 2023. I call him Blue. He is a wonderful dog who will never be capable of experiencing the full capacity of love because of what you had done to him in the seven years that you had him. Daily, he still lives through your ritualistic abuse. Only now, instead of your heavy hand, to greet him out of his PTSD, Now he has love and ultimate understanding. Thank you for surrendering him. It's a shame you didn't do so the minute you started using him as your Target. He will never be able to be held without expecting your heavy hand. I know what you did to hiM. I ALSO KNOW Any bond that he had formed with the other dogs that you kept you would not allow, because my sweet dogs love him and want to play and he is so uncomfortable with it. He hides all day in the yard. I put his bed, water and food out there under his favorite shade tree. He loves to sit in my lap on car rides. Everytime I approach him he is expecting abuse. I will always accept and nurture this dog. I will never repremand or punish him. Even when he freeks out because another dogs leg touched him in the car. Thank God for my very gentle and understanding dogs as well that accept him and give him his space. I believe the only person that he was ever truly capable of hurting was you. You should be grateful that he didn't mauI you. I pray that someday he will be comfortable laying next to me. Just when he starts to relax , he starts growling. I bet that's when you would start hurting him, When he was just about to relax. I hope that you surrender the rest of your dogs and get yourself into some therapy because you are not a good person. You do not deserve dogs. You disabled his capacity for love, and for that, I hate you. Im glad he finally had enough and scared you so bad you gave him to the shelter. That is the best grace you could have ever done him. You broke him and I can't fix him but I will keep him and love him until his dying day and he will never experience in real-time What he goes through every day because of your ritualistic abuse that broke your dog. He is so amazingly smart and sweet. He could have been the best friend you ever had, and you ruined him. Thank you, PACC, for holding on to him for so long and giving him a shot at a life without abuse. I CAN NOT UNDO his past, but I will certainly love him beyond the capacities of his previous owner, and I pity her remaining dogs. She doesn't deserve them. I sure wish we could put animal abusers to sleep instead of the dogs whose spirits were broken so much they had to be put down, or sit in a shelter for months and months with no foster. Love and care from the angels at PACC Is the closest that some of these dogs will ever get to the loving care that they so Desperately deserve.

It's hard to see all of the abandoned animals in a facility, knowing they used to be part of a family. That being said, they have clean kennels, food, water, and the staff is really great! The video loop in the lobby was helpful, several dogs we were visiting were on the video and we could see them playing more naturally. Overall, a great experience and we have adopted a new couch potato!

My family brought in some TNR cats for the Snip N Tip event last weekend. The staff was wonderful. It was a great event and the facility was very clean. So many cats were fixed and vetted. Hopefully future events go a little smoother though. With so many cats and people, things were getting lost, cages mixed up, etc. We had an amazing experience despite the chaos! Here's to many more kitties never having another litter!

We met Eli while he was being taken out on a day trip and fell in love with him. Unfortunately he got sick before we could see him in the shelter and the PACC volunteers and staff were so helpful. They took precautions and took his sickness very seriously and we were able to pick him up after he recovered. The kennels were clean and all the doggos had food and seemed well cared for. The PACC is at critical capacity and is doing amazing with what they are giving. The adoption process was easy and everyone was seriously so helpful and friendly. There are SO many amazing dogs in the PACC that would love a foster or a forever home. Thank you PACC for taking care of my boy Eli before he found his way into my life. What you guys do is something special

We checked in and went to visit all the dogs and puppies. I saw a little girl puppy about 10-12 months and they had named her IMP. I met her. She came running out and jumped right into my lap. I knew she was meant to be my dog. She had to stay and get spayed and I picked her up on Friday. Everything went well and I changed name to Peanut. She is very happy and loved. She learns fast. I just love her so much. Thank you PACC Chrissy J

We adopted the perfect dog three days ago, a pitbull terrier called Guapo. It was loved at first sight. Guapo was refusing to walk at the shelter, but as soon as we got home and let him roam our large fenced yard,he walked around exploring. PACC made it a smooth process, provided all pertinent information and documents. We're very happy with our four-legged new family member. He is now trusting us humans enough to cuddle on the couch with us. This is our 2nd adoption from PACC in 11 years! Our last crossed the rainbow bridge a few months ago, having enjoyed the good life at his furever home. We highly recommend PACC if looking to adopt a pet. They are overcrowded and need help with fostering and adopting.

Some of the most compassionate animal people I have met! It's very sad to see so many dogs behind bars, but PACC does it's best to make the pups comfortable. Right now they are over 100% capacity and starting a remodel, but yet they persevere. It's worth visiting and saving a life or two!

The people at Pima Animal Shelter were very good to work with. I was surprised that they had you check in & wait until you could see the animals. It’s understandable that it spreads out the visits to the kennels. We’re very pleased with the puppy we adopted & the care she received prior to being adopted. THANKS.

All this place cares about is money, they do not care about the health and well-being of your dog. My mother-in-law was walking her dog, and when she was trying to lock the retractable leash, the dog got startled because of the noise, also the leash still being attached to her harness, so the dog ran off startled. In the span of only 2 hours, a lady reached out and said she had found the dog & they took the dog to the shelter. Keep in mind, this is a well-groomed dog… so instead of this shelter bothering to even reach out or post this missing dog that clearly has a loving home, they chip her, and they give her 3 vaccinations she DID NOT NEED. When my mother-in-law came to pick up the dog, they said it’s going to be $270 to get HER OWN DOG OUT…. But this is the crazy part. They said to lower the cost of $270, they could spay her??? Are you kidding?? To top it all off, these people working at this shelter are so entirely rude and show no type of sympathy. This happened on 05/04/2024, and now the dog is not feeling well at all. Today on 5/05 has been diagnosed with kennel cough, which goes to show this place is either nasty or the vaccines caused her to get the illness.

Theyre doing the best with what they're given. The volunteers are lovely people.I took their dog Nathaniel out on a dog day out/pj party and he was one of the most perfect dogs I've ever met. They're currently at capacity of over 400+ dogs so even if you're not looking to adopt, if you want to foster or take a dog out for the day to give them a break from the kennels every little bit helps.

Pacc let's " rescues" place a $50 hold on dogs, especially little ones. Then the rescues ask $400 for a fixed, fully vaccinated dog they got for $50.Today we saw a dog, went to the front, waited 25 minutes to be told there was a hold on her. Why didn't they tell us to begin with? Or have her marked reserved? The system is flawed.Good luck to all the dogs still looking

The only negative comment I have is that when we showed up on Thursday to pick up our pet, we were told she was never scheduled for surgery yet no one notified us before we drove from Vail. The lady in the surgery clinic was very professional and apologized for the mistake, that was not hers. Our beautiful fur Baby was spay the next day and we received a courtesy call letting us know that we could come pick her up.Our Coconut is an amazing addition to our family!!!

Hate this place they stole my emotional support animals lied to me about getting them back for me. I've been lost without them and in a constant state of depression cause they don't classify them as service animals so they don't give him any special treatment. I was beaten before I could come get my babies informed them what happened they promised to hold them longer for me but they lied. I'm about finished with life without them just hope they know that they brought me to no longer wanting to be around period.

It was a very professional experience. We looked at a dog that was in quarantine. We were able to come back the next day for a “playdate” and filled out an adoption form. The adoption was free because of crowding. We were able to take the dog home the next day after he was neutered.

They are great. I took a kitty in that had to be put to sleep no problems I have eight feral cats. That they have taken care of. All I do is feed him. And give them a safe home. To come and go if they choose. I highly recommend Pima animal Care center

We were treated great by staff and Wes at the animal care center. Wes was very informative about the animals and other services at the facility. We never considered fostering until Wes made us aware. We didn’t find our fur child but we hold out hope.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the adoptable pets and their temperaments. The adoption counselor Michelle was very thorough when it came to adoption processes and fees and made sure to remind us that the pet we were interested in may not be available any longer by the time we're ready to adopt. I can't wait until we are ready to adopt n bring home our new furry addition to our family!! Thank you all for being so kind and helpful. We'll be back soon!

Way better than the Humane Society. So many dogs to choose from and great system too! We really appreciated the organization. They bend over backwards to help you make adoptions happen with the right dog. They respond when you have questions and concerns afterwards too! Great experience and we love our new doggie! .
