I personally love this store but my experience today was not my favorite. I got a bigger cat toy that could not fit in a bag. And one of the employees was super rude and thought I was stealing it. Again I do truly love this store but this same employee was kinda being nosey as well. I was just looking at the stuff at the front of the store before I left. And when they realized that we already paid for it they did not seem very sorry and I was very close to returning the toy because it was not worth being accused of stealing. I come to this store pretty often and have never had any issues until today. I still recommend this store but the staff can definitely be hit or miss on friendliness.

I have a great Dane at home so we need BIG bones to chew on. They have a great variety or rather large bones than some chain pet stores in the area. The staff is always super nice. Always fun to see what critters, pets, and supplies they have.

The only place in town we could find gerbils and they are so cute! 😍❤️ The staff was very helpful and friendly. They helped up picked out what we needed to get started.

Went in and looked at the animals and fish with my daughter. Found some bones at a good price for our dog. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Fiancé ordered me a fish and asked the price it would be upon pickup, they told her it will be 39.99 then we waited a month for said fish and when it finally arrived they tried to charge 49.99 and say it was because the price changes. If it was ordered a month ago how would the price change? They had ordered 2 and killed the other, they were trying to price gouge me to make up for their poor care. Will never frequent this place again after being a customer for years.

I really like this store. They have a great variety of pet supplies and are much better equipped and knowledgeable than petsmart or petco type stores. I get my rabbit supplies, bird supplies, and fish tank supplies all from this store. I live 1.5hrs away but refuse to use Petsmart in my town if I can help it.

We went in and purchased two different kinds of glow fish, so far they are doing well. I think the prices are high be I haven't purchased fish in a while. So I don't know for sure.

We got our super sassy bearded dragon (but not the squirrel) from Desert Pet. We also are regular customers coming in to buy all her favorite crunchy munchy bugs. The staff is always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend them as the go to pet shop in Tucson.

I absolutely love this store. Firstly, it's locally owned. Secondly, everyone there is so friendly and helpful. ( Especially Terrell )I have a planted aquarium and never had any issues with the fish or plants I buy there.Highly recommend!!!!

Staff is knowledgeable (except for snakes-I have written more about that farther down in review) & friendly.They have everything for your pets including rabbits, reptiles, fresh & saltwater fish, spiders, pet toys & food plus another thing I like is they always have what's going on around Tucson for whatever your pet maybe. They have a nice birds & fish. They do not have cats or dogs for adoption unless they are having a special event.I would like to remind you to do your own research on snakes regarding type of light (UVA, UVB etc) & heating, bedding & what makes the best home for them, because snakes are the area most of the employees are not knowledgeable in. Only 1 out of 4 employees I spoke to had knowledge about snakes, 1 of those 4 tried to sell me a light that WAS NOT for a snake & said I needed to take my snake my snake outside daily. A different one of the 4 told me I should take my snake back to where I bought it (I received as close to a Birth Certificate as you can get on a snake where I bought mine, when it was born, what day it ate & what it ate, the ht & hp). I ask them where they got a certain type of snake from & did they offer what I received. They said they received from different breeders, some out of state & none offered what I received. Because of this I wouldn't recommend buying a snake from themI would say all other things are good!

Prices are great. Good variety of rarely seen fish. Has food for exotics to include fish, snakes, lizards and spiders of many kinds. Tuesday is feeder food shipment.

Bought my blue betta fish and both of my snails from here. I love popping in from time to time to see their selection of fish and snails. It’s a clean store and everyone’s always willing to answer any questions you might have. I’m only giving 4 stars because their selection of betta fish is sucky sometimes. And there’s been a few times where there’s been dead betta’s on display. Other than that, it’s a great pet store.

I would NOT under any circumstance recommend that you buy crickets or any other critter from the store anytime soon. My boyfriend and I had a lizard and a chameleon, both of which died each within a week after eating crickets from this store. The chameleon just recently died, and we noticed that very soon after that the crickets had started killing and eating each other in the bags, but there were also little flies and maggots coming out of the dead crickets. My boyfriend has studied critters and reptiles and all kinds of exotic animals, his entire life, and he believes them to be apocephalus Borealis or in other words zombie flies, which basically means the fly lays eggs in the host and the larvae from the fly eggs kill the host from the inside out. I just know, I will not be returning to that store again. I would rather travel the extra 20-30 mins to Tropical Kingdom to get our pets needs.The employees aren’t bad, they’re pretty neutral, but they need to pay more attention to what they are selling their customers

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Never EVER by ANYTHING from this horrible store. I bought 4 neon tetras, a betta, and a regal jumping spider from them. All the fish died after 3 days and my jumping spider died after 11. I cannot BELIEVE how rude and uncaring the employees are. I researched how to keep regal jumping spiders for TWO YEARS before I got mine. I did literally everything right and she still died. Called the store asking if they could do anything to compensate for my 6 dead animals and they just kept repeating “no guarantee on live animals.” Are you serious?! They do NOT care about anything but money. They keep their animals in HORRENDOUS conditions too. Please don’t waste your time here. Let’s all hope and pray they go out of business soon. They are hands down the WORST pet store in Tucson. I have never seen a store be so uncooperative and care so little about their animals. Disgusting.

My boss found a baby 12 week old lab pitbull mix on the streets and she chose me to me her keeper, I got her 10pm Saturday night and 11am Sunday I was in the shop and Jen spent over an hour with me to make sure I had everything and I was comfortable. I absolutely love the crew here and Fish and I will be going there for years to come.

My Sulcata Tortoises (3) was boarded there for a week. They didn't feed them any of the food (fresh greens hay mixed and hay) I sent for them to eat nor given any water. They feed them dry pellets that they wet, which they don't eat. As to why I sent food. It was molded and dried out food in their dishes upon picking them up. Signs that they wasn't eating it and they continued to give it to them. The oldest one wasn't let out of his enclosure nor was it cleaned out. I'll never take my babies back there for any reason. I'd rather leave them at home by their selves before I allow them to boarder mines again. I'm just upset that nothing that I was told far as how my babies would be treated and feed was true. This isn't okay with me.

This pet store has been around as long as I can remember-formerly at different location. We went to check out the animals, and they had a lot to look at: Koi fish in a huge indoor pond, a variety of reptiles, fish and our favorite...kittens. large supply of items for all types of pets. We will be back.

Huge selection of fish. They had cats, dogs and bunnies. Really great prices on their aquarium decorations. Bought a cool snail for my tank. I'll definitely be back. Fun place

They should not have kittens in cages but they do. The prices for dog treats are sort of insane. Far too expensive to actually consider buying. In fact all of the prices are high but it is great fun to go see the animals. Handy if you need frozen food for snakes.

The staff was very rude and short with me. I tried asking questions about insects for my reptiles and they were not helpful at all. They didn't seem to like the fact that my 5yr old daughter and I were taking our time to walk around and look at everything. The message I got from the employee's behavior was, "Buy something or get out." They have good prices though. I won't be going back unless I absolutely have to.

Honest ma&pa. Healthy animals, one can get some feed in bulk(bag your own) and knowledgeable. Definitely not a glitzy mall chain, just pets and pet stuff.
