Claire’s Cafe & Art Gallery was an excellent find on Oracle Highway in Catalina, well north of Tucson proper. The menu had some very fine nuggets to choose from, and I settled on the Mexican Frittata which was most excellent. I liked the experience enough to come back the next day. This time I settled on Al’s Favorite Handmade Corned Beef Hash which was oh so tasty. Service was friendly and prompt. The coffee was very good. I found it fun to wander around looking at the local art on display, and for sale, while I waited for my meal to be served. Highly recommended.

Recently stumbled upon Claire's Cafe & Gallery during our travels and we were delighted to find a hidden gem. As avid travelers, we always seek out local eateries to get a true taste of the town. Upon entering, we were greeted with a feast for the eyes - an array of stunning artwork by local artists on display. Our wonderful server, Andy, recommended the Fish Sandwich, which was a perfectly golden-fried cod filet served on a French roll with lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce. The fries were crispy and piping hot. We also tried the Ranchers Roast Beef, a juicy and flavorful roast beef sandwich with green chilies and Swiss cheese on grilled rye bread. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Chef Claire, who was friendly, warm, and hospitable. It's clear that she puts her heart and soul into her establishment. We wish Claire's Cafe & Gallery much success and highly recommend it to anyone passing through Tusson.

On way through town stopped at this cafe / fine art gallery for some food and to peruse the art. There are beautiful beaded earrings and necklaces, paintings and indian art of all types throughout the cafe; all for sale. The side door is a beautiful hand carved wooden door is just something to see in itself. I had the seafood platter that was on special, clam chowder and a pecan roll. All very good and reasonably priced. What was best though is talking to some of the regulars to learn about the history of the town walking me through pictures and articles hanging on the wall. Then, meeting Claire herself and her husband. Wonderful people. If you are in the area I would recommend stopping. I surely enjoyed taking the scenic route from Tucson to Phoenix rather than taking I-10. That way you get to enjoy places like this.

Great atmosphere and good food! Loved our waitress! So much small-town mom&pop feel to this place, and the art is beautiful. Nice menu and lots of care goes into the food.

One of the 2 worst restaraunt experiences of my life. Claire's Cafe and Gallery. I recall from our first visit that the place was interesting, and the food was good. But the service was somewhat slow. At that time, the server told us that Sunday's were their busiest/slowest. Fast forward to today (Sunday). We drove quite a bit out of our way to visit this neat little spot. Seated immediately. The server took our order within a couple/few minutes. THEN we waited. At about the 35 minute mark, we saw the server again, and she mouthed 'soon'. Never did come over though and explain the delay, or give us an informed estimate. A few minutes later, we were deciding whether to pay for the Cokes and leave, or to be a bit more patient. I had five ones out already for the drinks, but we chose a bit more patience. At this point, we had decided never to return on a Sunday again. A few minutes later, the server came to the table and apologised for the delay. At this point we had been waiting over 40 minutes. I told the server I was 'pretty upset' and asked when the order had been put in. I suspected it may have been forgotten, or put in late. The server left, and within 5 minutes our food came to the table. Problem is, someone who I guess was Claire came at the same time, and rather than offering an apology or explaination, she stood in the isle and said "How dare you cuss my server..." Well, one of the things that really gets me is being accused of something I did not do. I did NOT cuss the server. Did not cuss anything or anybody at all. Didn't even particularly raise my voice when I had told the server I was upset. Now I guess she mush have gone to the office or kitchen after she left our table a bit earlier and LIED to Claire about me - that I had cussed her. So Claire converted the "never again on a Sunday" situation to a "never again period" situation. The server should have explained the issue and thanked us for our patience. That would have made it all ok. Then when Claire came out, rather than picking a fight right there amid other customers, she should have apologised, or asked what was wrong, or something managerial like that. I think she was having a bad day and took it out on me. Anyway, in the end, I will not go back, and am inspired to leave an objective (and negative) review - something I've only done a couple times, ever. (Turkey Reuben and a Crispy Chicken Skillet in case you were curious).

We’re from out of town. We stopped in here for sandwiches because we were doing laundry nearby. Didn’t expect much, Claire’s is a hole in the wall. Were we ever surprised? The best sandwiches we’ve had in a very long time! The bread was toasted perfectly. The Reuben sandwich was not soggy at all. the coleslaw was delicious! Everyone should come here if they’re in the area.

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy great food. We ate there the first week in April when we were on vacation. The cafe is clean, neat, and the staff is great. If you are in the area of Tucson I suggest this place. Gary Price.

Eating at Claire's is like eating breakfast with your family. This quaint little gallery has both the charm and the culinary chops of a 5* eatery. Love it here.Vegetarian options: So many vegetarian options!

Had lunch there today for the first time and it was ok. Two entrees and two coffees cost around $50 with tip. For small-medium size dishes it’s a bit too much. Ice coffee was very diluted and tasted bad, I drank a little and dumped the rest. Blueberries that came with cheese blintzes were defrosted and went bad since, tasted the mildewy. Blintzes felt like they were bought at Trader Joe’s and defrosted. Ice coffee came without a straw with little milk, so had to keep asking the waitress for things. Items in the art gallery obviously extremely overpriced. I don’t think we’re coming back.

Great homestyle food, personable friendly efficient waitress, large portions. Wonderful ambience with vintage items, artwork, jewelry for sale with prices posted. Hash browns served with veggie stuffed Western omelet were crispy, biscuit & gravy was delicious, turkey club sandwich was excellent with sour dough bread and home made potato chips. Even had RC cola - my old time favorite impossible to find in grocery stores anymore ! Lots of parking; easy to locate.

Food was good. The damper here was the fact that a lady that never assisted us in any way shape or form came out to our car as we were leaving and demanded more tip money. She said the tip that I left was for the kitchen and we needed to leave a tip for the waitress. Unbelievable. Never again will we even consider eating there. Tacky tacky tacky.

Worst (and most expensive) breakfast in Oro Valley. Food was served cold, hash browns were like chewing bubble gum and the corn beef hash was like cold dog food. When we got our check and the waitress saw we hadn’t eaten anything, she told us to go pay at the front counter. The cashier asked how everything was, and when I replied “It was awful, absolutely horrible”, he replied “Oh, that’s great”. Couldn’t have cared less. We will NEVER go back.

Fabulous home cooking. Like grandma use to make. The service is great and friendly and the owner Claire comes around and greets everyone with a big smile and makes sure everyone is happy with their meal. They also have a nice gift and gallery there. I bought 3 pairs of beautiful earrings after breakfast. I would highly recommend Claire's for a great meal and shopping. We will certainly return next time we in Tucson.

Wonderful place for breakfast. Nice cozy place with warm service. The art on display adds to the atmosphere. The food is delicious and hearty. I had the Rogers Special which is a large biscuit with sausage patties and scrambled eggs with plenty of gravy. Very delicious and filling. My wife had the breakfast quesadilla which was stuffed with fillings. The green Chilies were very flavorful. Highly recommend this place. I need to try them for lunch next.

This seems to be a well liked place, especially geared toward the retired community. The food to me was a bit bland, it needed salt, for sure. I know people that really like this restaurant, so maybe it's just me but I wouldn't go back (I've tried it twice). The employees are friendly and the service is quick. I didn't have the pancakes, but they smelled yummy!

This quirky, funky cafe and gallery/shop is a must-visit in Catalina. At yesterday's visit, I was with a large group, and we had only one waitress, but she was levelheaded and funny. All orders came out, except one, who happened to be my husband's, and because it was so late, she made the decision to comp it.As far as my food, the avocado melt with a fruit cup was a nice light meal, but quite satisfying, and I'd order it again.

The food was good and so was the service. However, the male manager person chose to pick a fight with me immediately after I complimented him on the good food and good service. I hadn't yet put my mask back on and that's when he stated "I don't care if the state mask mandate is lifted, we still require masks here!". This was absolutely unsolicited and there was no response to my thanks and compliments. It was our first (and last) time there.
