I've had success with Central Pet 6 years ago with my same dogs, but today's experience was disappointing. My husky did not pass her temperament test this morning, and my lasting impression is the testing staff did not understand behaviors common to the breed and benign or expected in my dog. I brought both my huskies (sisters), who are very attached to each other, to the test, and the more anxious one went first. She reportedly showed behaviors related to being apart from her sister, and did not pass. Had both my huskies been tested at the same time and same room, as I requested, I'm sure the one would have done better. This arrangement has worked for my dogs with dog daycares in Washington State, Minnesota, and Central Pet in 2018-19.As the staff member returned my husky to me, my other husky greeted her with a playful growl/greeting/contact common to the breed and fully expected. The staff member registered surprise and alarm, and asked me if that was concerning behavior. My impression was the staff member was unfamiliar with husky behaviors, and whatever the case, I decided Central Pet would not work out for either of my dogs. The outcome of the test is so at odds with my two huskies established behaviors and their other dog day care experiences that it's a blessing one of them did not pass Central Pet's temperament test and be further subjected to staff unfamiliar with expected benign husky behaviors.

Our tour provided by staff was nothing short of EXEMPLARY!! We were extremely satisfied with the resources available with numerous options offered for boarding visitors!! Logistical services were equally impressive!! There are also services available so you can keep track of your pet via camera coverage!! Looking forward to working with Pet Central!! Thank you Carlyle for the very informative tour!!

Technicians are gentle and follow directions well. My dog is pretty fearful of grooming so has to be towel dry or low setting dryer- needs to have a gentle touch. Cost is around $70 since we request some extras and hypoallergenic shampoo, etc... Only do grooming so not sure about daycare. My pup is usually excited at the end so will keep coming back.

I looked for about a month before a colleague recommended Central Pet. So when I reached out to them I was really at the end of my rope and pretty skeptical. There was no way to avoid going out of town (for work). The woman who took my call was knowledgeable, thorough and put me at ease within minutes. The facility is fantastic, centrally located--yet a short distance off the main thoroughfare which adds an extra layer of security. And security here is optimal. There are cameras everywhere and if you get your doggo a Luxe room, you can watch them remotely. My senior dog was last "boarded" about 12-13 years ago at an animal shelter, until I adopted him. He's always been a panic attack dipped in espresso. The staff at Central Pet were so gentle and understanding with him.My Great Pyrenees mix has never been away from me for longer than 12 hours and of course has never been boarded. Well, both of my dogs went on a hunger strike and the staff tried everything they could to get them to eat and drink--and I mean EVERYTHING. I know this because Central Pet stayed in constant contact with me. My senior-problem-child caved for a can of fancy salmon dog food, but the Pyr still held out. So one of their staff (they are all saints) went out to the grocery store to get him goat's milk and salmon. Finally he gave in.I'm leaving a lot out--the staff did a lot of social work with both of them and devised clever ways to get them out of their rooms, etc. but the takeaway is this: When I went to pick them up, they came out calm and relatively stress-free, given the circumstances. Central Pet really saved the day and I couldn't be more grateful for these lovely people and this amazing business.

Central Pet has been great with my dogs. I have used them for boarding, grooming and daycare and can confidently say they are the best! Patty is great when it comes to trimming my dogs nails too. He is very finicky with his paws but she is so gental with him its never an issue. Highly recommend

We chose Central Pet for a Board & Train option for our German Shepherd in August of 2022. We rescued him from Pima Animal Care Center, knew very little about him other than -a few notes they had, that he had come to them as a stray in July & was placed up for adoption shortly after that. He had some concerning behaviors in our eyes to include reactivity, pulling, darting doors, a fear of men & a few others. With having another rescue dog that turned into a family member with us 11 years ago, we were hoping for the same with our new guy!The stay with Central Pet for boarding was BEYONG exceptional. Our trainer we worked with was Rebecca. She loves German Shepards, has one of her own & we believed this was a great fit. Our dogs entire stay was monitored by Rebecca & the time she spent with him was quality working time where they worked on SO many items. She sent videos, photos , updates, questions, went on a doggie field trip to work at a public place… you name it! And we heard from her almost everyday! Our dog was extremely responsive to training (thankfully) but Rebecca truly went above & beyond working with our boy for him to become a true fur-family member. We have nothing but great things to say about the staff that worked with us for boarding as well. They were communicative with concerns, answered calls promptly when calling to check in & truly cared for our boy while he was in their boarding for 2 weeks.I highly recommend Central Pet for Board & Train & would 100 times over recommend Rebecca as a trainer! With consistency & Rebecca to support us with questions/ concerns following training , our boy has worked through ALL our previous concerns.Board & train is a true investment in your family & your fur-family member! Thank you to Central Pet & Rebecca for helping with our boy & getting him up to speed with our Family!

I have been looking for a place to take my golden retriever on the days that I work. After researching and visiting a couple of other places that I was not happy with, I found Central Pet. I sure am glad that I did! My dog Bailey loves coming here and playing while I am at work. The staff is friendly and attentive. I was very pleased to see that they do a temperament test before allowing dogs to come to their daycare. Super important for the safety of all the dogs there. My dog enjoys some of the extras like “chew therapy“ which allows him time away from the pack to crunch on a bone for a little while. I like being able to check on him during the day through the video cameras they have set up on the premises. Dogs have indoor outdoor access here which is very important to me! I’ve visited another facility where the dogs had only indoor access. I did not want to take my dog there and teach him how to go to the bathroom “indoors“ after working so hard to train him to go outside. So glad we found this place!

I've been taking my dogs for grooming to Central Pet for years. Ashley, the groomer has been amazing from day one. I'm sure all the groomers there are great. Their entire staff is impressive, being able to handle so many different animal personalities. I highly recommend anyone to use them for grooming, day care and boarding.

I love this place! My dogs always come home tired! They really enjoy the frozen kongs and marrow bones at night! Staff is always very friendly and I can tell they love all the dogs! You can even do a photo package to see how you're dogs are doing!

Worked there for 2 seconds. Owner is nice, but tolerates senior staff that exudes rudeness, childish behavior when they are "marking their territory"...no pun intended! Training was a disaster. Yes, high-turnover. Promoting someone to a GM position when this person has a demeanor of humiliating others. Interesting. Support a place that treats their employees as equal as they treat the fur-customers!

Boarded my dog for five days, my dog returned with fleas, I had them bathe her before picking her up. Central pet bathe her and did ears and nails when I just requested her bathe and de shedded, they DID NOT DESHED her

My review is solely based on concerns experience. Hiring manager even quit. Basic research shows a long consistent history still continues. Owners failed multiple people with concerns but listen to favorites. The upmost immature adults had no skills, no understanding or spirit of a professional leader. Hard workers went unnoticed. Classic Micromanagement. Poor training and judged new members.Toxic gossip, playing favorites while cold shouldering others. Hours worked were tampered and cut. Very unqualified staff. They spread personnel info to others and more. More qualified hard workers went unnoticed. Rude answers to questions. Little actual support if they don’t like you. *Taking a tour you can read the kennel cards, some talk bad about clients. *Some services clients pay for are not provided* 3 people in mornings, 2 people for afternoons for over 100 pets happened a lot. Over a year and a half as kennel tech with 60 to 90 hours per pay period, closing shift then opening shifts, a key holder. I was there far more than my managment. I built relationships so I handled and maintained animals others couldn't as they didn't spend time trying. Conservatively at least a thousand pets were comfortable and happy with me. I kept busy with no breaks just pit stops. Kennel manager Erin and Laila kennel supervisor scheduled themselves together. Afternoon shift relied on the reception management but the toxic environment was very thick at reception and I could tell good people were corrupted when talking to me. CP housed 160 pets at times and scheduled 3 staff members. Patty, Erin, Laila were kennel leaders so how could a day shift not be covered. Very little checking, assistance, guidance or positive social interactions. Far more harm done. Rules changed frequently in emails ,messages, meetings, many notes were posted on walls some ending with 4 explanation marks(!!!!).Normal to show up early at 11am to see not a single person working, or a unfavorable member working alone as they're standing around in the kitchen away from all pets. When they saw a afternoon person they would say nothing and leave, somtimes they wouldn’t answer radio calls and continued talking while I'm responding. Once only 1 new person there and he was clocking out. Sense we had no supervisor I was getting in trouble for my concerns. Owners failed to listen multiple times. It's so corrupt that if I was laughing and joking later I was assumed angry multiple times. I was washing dishes one day and Laila randomly came and yelled about not answering the radio 1 time considering she allowed a lazy guy to go a whole year then stormed off. I caught Erin in multiple lies as she's easy to read and I was well aware and even when confronted. My termination report is very disturbing proof as my real mistakes unlisted. While working with coworkers needing help they couldn't possibly know anything actually happening because instead of helping there department they chose to think of poorly fabricating accusations. With times of unexceptable negligence to pets for the purpose of retaliation. Dirty rooms, dirty materials mixed with clean materials, some had no water, were unfeed and dirty litter boxes and beding but allowed their staff to leave early. I just ask for standards maintained. Never rude. Numerous issues I had to deal with because they put personal issues above the clients for sure. During that summer I corrected Erin's excuse that pools are a listed CP service and by noon arrives it’s already hot but asking multiple times for them to be filled Erin and Laila chose to neglect animal care by not filling them or many times were spiteful so pools had an inch of water in the corner. The same time I had to literally hide the winter self warming beds because and the building had AC issues and they kept using them. Erin and Laila should be ashamed and embarrassed. I wasn’t always perfect but I never stooped to such inappropriate conduct. Also my automatic insurance policy were not being paid the last month or so.— CP has its positives and daycare is great.

Seen a video of a recording grooming dogs being abused! Steer clear of this salon until groomer is removed and needs to be arrested. Owner do better, there are other groomers out there, or train someone from scratch!

The day care crew at Central Pet has been a lifesaver for my Australian Shepherd during hot summers and long weeks. They have gone out of their way to place him in smaller groups and always make sure he has a good time. I've also had him groomed and boarded at Central Pet and always had good experiences. Every time we get there he is excited to see the staff and his dog friends. Definitely recommend them!

I had posted a review earlier, and while I am not taking back anything that I saw happen to my dog, I will say that the owner is absolutely amazing. I emailed her and shared my dog's experience and she put a lot of time and effort into helping me get to the bottom of the situation. I truly believe that this daycare has high potential and has an amazing owner. I know many owners wouldn't put the time and effort Ms. Grounds did into my situation. I will be trying this place again and hopefully will have a better experience!

Having worked in a daycare previously, I knew exactly what I was looking for in a daycare. My girl, who is 1.5 yo Australian Shepherd, goes to the daycare I used to work at when we visit home, but I wanted something out here. This place had good reviews and was close to where I lived. When I got there, they took her back for a temp test which she passed. I asked if they could keep her until 5pm and they said of course. As soon as I got home I set up my computer so I could watch how she was doing. I told them that she has very submissive habits and she would be a little shy at first but she would warm up. My dog was leashed, crated, and punished for absolutely no reason. I ended up picking her up at 12:30pm because I couldn't stand to see my baby be punished for no reason. The only reason I'm even giving this place 2 stars is because the staff was nice. However, they have no idea how to properly run a day care nor how to deal with high energy breeds. I will not be sending my dog here and my friends are pulling their dogs out.

This place was amazing a few years ago. Then they had a high turnover rate during the pandemic and things have never been the same .We adopted a new dog and scheduled a temperament test for her. They were well informed she was picked up off the street and had only been around our dog off leash. I take her and a few minutes later they bring her back up. They proceed to show me a video proving why she doesn't belong at any daycare. They had taken her back through a gated walkway where they proceeded to let no less than 10 dogs bombard her. Yes, there was a fence between them but for a dog that has never been around this many dogs, it became quite overwhelming and she lunged at them. This is in no form or fashion a proper temperament test. If we were uneducated owners, this could have possibly caused us to keep her away from all dogs or worse return her to PACC thinking she is aggressive. Instead, we found a different daycare who does an actual temperament test and she happily passed and even enjoyed her time there. If your dog has extensive experience being at daycare, this might still work out for you. But I honestly no longer feel safe recommending this place to anyone.

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more professional, reliable or effective dog trainer than the service Rebecca Davis provides. She has that “friendly neighborhood dog trainer” vibe that both dogs and owners will love and appreciate.Rebecca’s passion for dogs, upbeat energy and personalized support makes training sessions engaging and enjoyable. The sessions are always easygoing, never rushed. She is such a natural teacher, that she is seamlessly teaching not only the dog but us owners, at the same time. She invites questions and takes time to explain anything that wasn’t understood. She is incredibly easy to work with and went above and beyond to accommodate our training needs. We wanted to get in as many training sessions as possible before we left Tucson for a road trip. Rebecca thought outside of the box and gave us exactly what we needed, at a price we could handle, and all while around Christmas time!Rebecca is a graduate of Karen Pryor Academy, a force-free, positive-reinforcement training method. Personally, this is what set Rebecca apart from other trainers during my initial dog trainer research phase. Our pooch is naturally eager, enthusiastic and genuinely wants to please and be around us. So I wanted our pup to want to work, train and offer appropriate behaviors rather than need to in order to avoid punishment, correction or negativity. We could’ve chosen other trainers that were cheaper but we certainly would not have received the level of investment in our success and progress that Rebecca has provided. And we are NOT sorry!!! The only thing we’ll regret is not having more time with her.

I have been taking my two dogs here since they were puppies roughly 4 year ago. I moved a few years back to a different state and whenever I come home to visit I love to take them there after a 15 hour drive. This past time I went to take them there I called ahead of time to ensure they were okay for daycare. The girl on the phone told me they needed to redo their temperament test since it had been so long since they had been there. I understood, but for clarity asked the normal amount of time between temperament test. She said since they hadn’t been there in 6 months they needed one. Again understandable. Here’s where it go weird. I asked the exact date of the boys last visit to daycare and it was in fact less than 6 months. I informed the girl on the phone, she then said “well it’s 5-6 months”. I asked if that was a definitive rule, and she claimed yes. Turns out it had been a little less than 4.5 months since their last visit. So when I mentioned that she proceeded to argue with me, to which I started counting out the exact day of the boys last visit to the current date in the form of months. She then hung up on me and I never received a call back.I used to love this place, but somewhere along the way something happened regarding the customer service. Truthfully, I would still take my dogs there and recommend you do too because they have a great time. Just expect to deal with less than friendly employees now. It was disappointing to have gone through that, especially considering how long I have taken my dogs there. Oh well!!

We had a home emergency and had to find a temporary home for my two cats....in a hurry! Central Pet was able to accommodate them the next day and even helped me track down vaccine records! My cats ended up staying almost two weeks and they were happy and well cared for. I dont think they wanted to leave! Great job guys...Thanks!

We had our young dog rattlesnake trained on Saturday and then on Sunday we had an aggressive rattlesnake snake in the back yard, at the patio door. Our newly trained pup responded appropriately (barking, growling, and retreating) and definitely alerted us to snake right outside the door. Normally this dog engages anything it finds intriguing.I think the rattlesnake training saved us a BIG vet bill or worse within 24 hours.

I have been taking my dogs here for years. Great service. Some how a mix up happened and my dogs didn't have a reservation. They were able to accommodate them just fine. They are thorough too and called about recent vaccines. Great people running the front desk. All the years I have been using them I have not had an issue. Thanks for providing great service despite this mix up. More stays to come!

Our family was going on a 4 day vacation. I had a great experience calling and setting up my pup stay with no issues. This was our 1st time ever boarding our dog, very hesitant but we still went with it after reading others reviews. We dropped off on a Friday and picked him up that following Monday in the evening. I was able to call and get updates and also got a picture of him outside. My pup did okay during his stay. He was very shy and confused as this was his 1st time. After getting home, he seemed fine, happy he was finally home. As the weekend came on he started to cough, his coughing became pretty consistent overnight. He wasn't comfortable and was exhausted. What it seemed like he was trying to do is cough up a hair ball. I called the vet, their schedule was pretty booked over the weekend and had to wait until Monday to bring him in, I had to call into work and missed a day. At this point I was frustrated. Took him in and he had catch what is called Kennel cough. Usually animals catch this in boarding places or daycare where there are multiple other pets. He had all the required vaccines so I'm not sure how he caught this. He was prescribed antibiotics and still recovering til today. I'm not sure if this is normal to happen but we went through it. I missed a days of work and paid for a vet bill. I understand things happen but not sure if this situation could've been prevented.

Our terrier has been going to Central Pet for daycare since she was a puppy. She's 4 years old now! Consistent. Professional. Caring. She loves the people there (and dogs) so much that she yodels when she sees the caregivers. She is confident, mostly well mannered and social. Central Pet has been a big part of that.

We needed a last minute (same day) boarding for our German Shepard. We arrived to find them booked. Desperately calling around from their parking lot we tried getting our dog in somewhere else when out of the blue a central pet employee approached our car and told us she found a way to get us in. The service was beyond exceptional and caring. We are new clients for life!

My dog, Gus and I have now done 2 classes and multiple drop-in boarding training sessions with Rebecca. It has been a wonderful experience to learn from Rebecca and Gus’ improvement over the last few months has been remarkable. He’s a more well-rounded and well-mannered dog after these classes!
