Kim CARES about these dogs and wants them safe and sound. She drives all around to vaccinate, meet and follow up with adopters, and save dogs abandoned in the desert like my beautiful girl Evelyn.Other agencies want you to jump through so many hoops and are impersonal. It’s like applying for a home loan. One even wanted me to get in a donation bidding war on top of the $675 adoption fee for abandoned puppies. It’s a “non-profit” and there were 7 of them!Kim responded to my inquiry with her phone number and is readily available because she’s doing this for the right reasons. She wants these dogs safe.I don’t know why all the reviews aren’t 5 stars but those who left less than 5 should really rethink whether they have all the information.Oh, and my sister and I want to Will Smith you because we saw the lengths Kim goes to save dogs.

We adopted a puppy from here a few months ago and she's been an absolutely perfect addition to our little family! She was already obedient and well socialized, which made her training so easy! We are so incredibly grateful for the work that Kim and the foster parents are doing and highly recommend this rescue.

Kim met with us twice at over 2 hours each to ensure the pup would be a good fit for our family. She also ensured that if things didn’t work out, the pup could be returned. Kim went above and beyond to make sure all of her rescue animals go to a good loving home. We will definitely be going to her first, the next time we are to adopt. We are extremely pleased and happy for what Kim provided for our family!

Just adopted our baby girl, Maya, from Desert Dogs. I love how much effort Kim puts into matching her rescues to the right family. People need to understand that not every dog is good for every family and Kim puts the dog's needs first. We have a sweet and loving new family member thanks to her. The care Kim gives to these pets is outstanding. She drove over an hour to our meet and greet. Thank you so much. I will recommend Desert Dogs to my friends and family.

I contacted her thinking that this would be a good place to rehome my dog. I told her that I'm moving out of my parents home into an apartment that would not allow her in the complex. I also explained that both of my parents are over the road truck drives that could not take care of her because they're rarely at their house. When she told me that she was full, I asked if she knew of any other places that may accept her. As to which she became very hostile and told me I was doing wrong by my dog and to never get another one. I explained I've been looking for months for apartments and homes for rent that would allow her and everyone said no because of her breed. She told me im just to lazy to look hard enough. She even told me and I quote "it's easier to dump the pup." I am very disappointed in her customer service. I would not recommend doing business with her. She is very rude and not professional at all.

We have had our DD Rescue for 9 months now. She was well described on the adopt a pet website as we needed a dog that was good with cats. As with any adult pet adoption, there were a few issues that we worked through as we learned about her and she adjusted to us. She has now become the neighborhood social butterfly and is a delightful member of our family. Kim strives to match the right dog with the right family. and that is important for successful long-term happiness.

We submitted an adoption application and we received a response saying that it looked great. We contacted Kim to set a date and time to meet our potential new family member. She said we could meet within the next week and would message the specific time we could meet. Kim never texted a time for the meeting and we messaged her again to try and set the time. She said she was still trying to train the dog and that we should look for another dog. We told her that we could train him ourselves or wait but she never responded again. Whether the dog was trained or not we still wanted to adopt him. She gave a very weak excuse. Whatever her reason for not wanting to follow through with the adoption should have been explained to us instead of wasting our time and getting our hopes up. This was a very unprofessional experience and I do not reccomend this rescue.

NOTHING IS FREE!The headache that comes with is almost not worth it. They provide free shots in home but they will cost you!!She was the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. I was appalled at her behavior. She was rude in every interaction and her excuse was being really busy. Pardon me. When is being busy a good excuse for being intentionally rude and degrading? She cancelled our 8am appointment at the last minute and told me she would be there at 4pm instead. When I told her that I'm not available at 4pm and offered other days and times, she became rude and condescending... our exact conversation, word for word.HER:" My relief is going to be late so will cone by at about 4 430 this afternoon to do her shot thanks"ME:"I'm not available this afternoon. LolMy husband is home tomorrow. So, will anytime before 3pm work Tomorrow?"HER:"Working 16 hour shift tomorrow. Saturday or Tuesday"ME:"Tuesday morning?Sorry, I work during the day and after work I drive my daughter to work and my other daughter to practice. I also drive my mom to her doctor's appointments during the week....my schedule fills up quickly. It's the mom life. LolThanks for understanding"HER:"If it's too much trouble keeping up with theShots you can take over her medical. I work every nite at the hospital and care for 50 dogs daily so i understand being busy but you have to understand I try to be flexible and usually people make time for free vaccines that come to their house at no cost. But if you don't keep up with them. Which Tuesday is last day and she gets sick it's at your expense. She is not fully vaccinated until all 4 sets are given. No can only do Tuesday eve. Not morning if I do not hear from you will assume you are taking over medical thank you"ME:"I apologize but,, if I am not available, I'm not available. I am one person with many job and an entire family to care for. I have been responsive to you and I was not the one who had to cancel our arrangements for this morning.I am aware of the risk that not getting her vaccinated can create. I can imagine other people have created issues for you in the past. I am not the one. I am happy to take over her medical now so I do not have to receive any more rude messages from you.Thank you,Have a blessed day"HER:"Yes you are the only one. And not rude. And also extremely busy. Snowflake acts like a feral puppy poor socialization if I could take her back I would. And the reason. I will not be doing public adoptions anymore. Sad what you did to her."Mind you, we have been very responsive to her texts and working with her very tight schedule but you can't just tell someone when you will be showing up to their house and they have to accommodate. And as for her very rude comments, we are a very clean home, we have many animals and we are not the average family, we are educated in caring for dogs who have trauma issues. Our dogs are happy and healthy and dare I say, spoiled. This woman spent 2 minutes with us one time and made large, rude and inaccurate assumptions.I told her that she was in the wrong here and that I would be blocking her phone number. If you have to adopt from them, choose to do all the medical and shots yourself!

I was interested in adopting a dog and reached out for information. I learned that the dog in question had been traumatized after talking with the representative.I knew I was leaving for a wedding and took a few days to figure out if I could have some family members come down and watch the dog because I didn’t want to leave the dog in a kennel or with people the dog didn’t know.I texted her back a few days later to let her know I was ready to adopt. She said I seemed “iffy” before and did not seem sure about me.I explained my wedding situation to her and she said “it could work.” She also said she wanted to see how the meet and greet went.Over a week had passed and I had heard nothing.I was willing to put the dog before myself. I have had dogs in my family ever since I was very young.I read another comment from another family describing a similar situation.Representative seems very controlling and customer service was dissatisfying. She judged me before she had met me. I truly hope that dog finds a good home, but I am very sad about the experience. Some of the other comments were good though, so I am glad that other dogs found loving homes.

This place has housed and assisted us several times. No matter how busy she is she will always make time for the animals well-being. I highly respect her adoption process. She does not just hand out these animals to anyone.

I don't see how keeping dogs in cages or chained up 24/7 alone outdoors is resecuing. Some people will do anything for a tax write off.

Kim portrayed very hostile behavior and an impatient attitude that made me realize I did not want to deal with such an unprofessional person!
