Would be 5 stars because the staff is exceptional. They are always friendly and helpful. Minus 2 stars because the store is often very messy and the aisles are crowded with boxes, crates, dollies, and partially unloaded merchandise. Typical of a Dollar general. I believe this to be a corporate level issue and not the fault of the staff. It seems they don't have enough people to run the store and stock it properly.

At first I thought this store would be better if built on 163rd st but now that its finished & open, I think it turned out nice. The employees are very nice & keep the store clean & stocked. They have mostly anything you need & a great convenience/relief when you run out of something & don't have to drive miles into town. 👍

The only good thing about the store is the employees are nice. But the store is the most unreliable store ever. Credit card machines and computers consistently break down from day one, signs showing closed at 5 pm for mental health reasons, and today the store was not open an hour after opening and the sign said software broke will open soon. Adding a picture each day is closed, 7/19/22 doors closed no sign , customers are calling police because they don’t know this store is consistently closed

It should be called “Ten Dollar General”. This store is fine and has everything you need, but the prices are the same as any gas station.

Everything we have bought here has been stale, or either expired or close to expiring. We didn’t think about checking the first time and 3 of the 4 items were expired. Second time we checked dates, and even then, most were close to expiring and everything needed to be thrown out because it was so stale/flat. Would not recommend at all & definitely won’t be going back.

The stores shelves have been barren for a month. Yesterday, the credit card machines were down. This morning the whole parking lot was full, 8:20AM and the store was closed AGAIN with no sign and people waiting. This store should be more reliable after four years after opening

My experience was an ignorant bliss!! The shelves are always empty down the candy aisle and the other main food aisles. They seem to always be out of stuff as soon as they stock it or they just never order stuff right. I believe what they need is a better management team, specifically the inventory control aspect side of it. That way the shelves are a little more filled when the custies need to buy some grubbage bruhhhh

Not open at 8:00 am. Its 8:30 still not open, chip vendor came and left. Multiple customers waited a few mins then left. This is not good. Unfortunately its the only store in 10 miles so many who just need to stop real quick are being forced to drive.

Good little spot. Actually, not so "little" for a dollar store. Although, as all of them are these days, not everything's a dollar. But in my mind that's a good thing as they have a huge selection of different things. Being the *only* store in like a 12-15 minute radius from our newer neighborhood in Surprise, its super convenient to be able to pick up dog food, over the counter medicine, milk & eggs, frozen foods, plus the typical assortment of dollar store candy and other items. They really awesome part is they have their "liquor" license (only beer and wine though) and tobacco license (so cigarettes). They score *MAJOR* kudos from me for their well- done phone app. Way better interface than many other bigger stores, plus so many good deals and coupons you can save to your account ahead of time from your phone. It can also scan bar codes of items inside the store to either check price or add them to your virtual cart. Really surprising compared to some other stores apps, and quite frankly is pretty badass lol, esp all the potential to easily save a lil money on your purchases there. And no, I wasn't paid to write this review lol.

The kids who work this store are great. The rest... meh. I called a month ago, to make sure they were able to take cards and was laughed at, "I don't know when the last time you were here was, but our cards are up and running..." (sounded like a new guy, not the great kids referenced above). Anyway, the last time I'd been there was just three weeks before. Fast forward to a few days ago... a million (or 40) sheets of paper with "Cash only" on the doors. Tried to call today to see what the card situation is, the number is out of service. I'll just cross the tracks and go to Albertsons, since there's a 60/40 chance I'll end up there anyway.

Frustrated at not being able to determine several items' actual price (prices were neither marked on the shelf nor on the item), I went to check out. On the way, I saw an item on a shelf with the sign "Priced as marked." I have glasses for my nearsightedness, but not for me recent farsightedness, so not only could I not read the price labels, I could not even tell that the label on the product was a label, let alone that it had a price printed on it. So, when I asked the manager on duty (who was at the counter) what the price was, he responded with the price and then paused before saying, "priced as marked," then set the item on the counter. I then told him that I just needed the price and that the added "priced as marked" was rude. He responded spitefully as tho every item in the store was priced as marked and refused to apologize or even acknowledge that his behavior was inappropriate. It's amazing that management is so hypocritical and unaware of the state of service at this location. It's enough that they can't fix register #2 and regularly close early without warning, but to be insulted when these issue exist is amazing.

Staff is very cordial and nice. But I've noticed there's constantly new ppl working here. It's never the same people. Also I think they need more people working at night to stock and for safety reasons. The shelves are always pretty empty or a mess.

They are closed every single night. They advertise open till 10pm and close at 7pm sometimes even earlier. They put a sign in the door saying closed due to register failure for over a month now. The employees are really nice but what in the world is going on?! If you advertise you close at 10pm daily why are they closing early on a regular basis and even when they close early it could be 5pm, 6pm, or whenever they feel like I guess.

Convenient location for those of us out in northern Surprise, wide selection of stuff for sale, and fair prices (unless you need stuff in bulk). It's the kind of store you go to when you forget to get milk when you're in town at other places, or if you want a good deal on snacks or batteries. The service is also very friendly all the times I've been there.

I go there all the time. Went there last night to use some coupons. Cashier was new. I wanted to use cash and card but she didn't know what to do and the person training her left to run an errand. After I left I noticed she didn't even apply my coupons and I had to do the whole transaction on my card. If I didn't have enough on my card I would have had to leave with nothing. I understand she's new but she shouldn't be left alone not knowing how to use the register.

Closed again this store was closed for a week & now regularly closes before their posted hours. I got there today at 6:50 pm along with several other customers & they were closed again. It's not about closing early, the issue is that they should let their customers know what the store hours are and not close at random times. For example, this store closes at irregular times on any given day. Some days at 6:50pm, 7:20pm, or 8:40pm. Please post your hours on the door or on your website.

This place is horribly run, just sheer incompetence. First of all it's a crapshoot whether they will even be open when you go, today their hours were 8am to 10am 🤔. They have been cash only for a while now with no ATM and no fix in the foreseeable future. I will be avoiding this place like the plague and I'm sure once the new Frys opens nearby DG will go out of business anyway.

I didn't realize this hidden gem was so close to my home in Surprise!!!Every city should have at least 2 dollar general stores!!This one in particular has HANDS DOWN the best decor to cover you for any holiday including gifts!!!Don't hesitate to drop in and take a look.Make sure you have a good hour to look around, yes I said it an hour!! There is a lot to go through.

I was just harassed about not wearing a mask, and when I stated that I had a medical condition, they told me that I did not have a medical condition. Unbelievably insulting, and in violation of our freedom under the Constitution. Never had a problem before this. They've always been a great store before.

the hours online are never matched up to the hours on the door and half the time they close when we they want to. tonight it said 10 pm online, 8 pm on the door, and the 5 pm on a paper that was taped to the door. absolutely ridiculous way to run a business.

Well stocked convenience store with a very friendly staff. . The prices may be a tad high but it beats driving 7 mikes to the nearest gas station.. just about any household item you might need is there and more.A little update on this oasis in the desert. I still love it. When the pandemic first hit you could telltale employees were a little flustered and who could blame them. They worked their collective buttons off to stock the store and get in needed supplies asap! Now things have calmed down the store is clean again and the staff back to their cheerfully selves.When I heard of it being built I thought what nut is building store there? Here we are a year later and I'm still glad its there. For those who have left bad reviews; what was your basis? AS fine foods? Albertsons? Trader Joes? Keep things in perspective people. Did you know the founder now his kids give away a lot of the stores profit to charity? That to me is a ++++. So when I realize I dont have milk or dog food. Its a 4 mile round trip instead of 18.

They should make a mockumentary about this place. You never know if they're closed 5 hours early, if they even opened that day, if the register takes card, if the roof is standing, etc... It's almost comedy at this point.

Close the store when they want. The registers don't work, cash only.Unorganized and cluttered.Seems the kids running the store would rather be outside with friends smoking and taking selfies.Very poorly run. Definitely not taking care of this store.

Ive been going to this dollar general for the past year and a half and the service has really gone down.Yesterday I was waiting in line for 5 minutes while employees were outside smoking cigarettes and having a grand old time. Today, I had asked someone in the store for help and he didn’t hear me because he had air pods in. Customer service is horrible.I don’t recommend giving your business to this location.

Walked into this place 5 minutes before closing looking to get a two items. I found one item, walked around and couldn’t find the other. Went to the front to pay, asked them about the product I could not find and if they carried it and the two stooges looked at each other and said “yeah”..... they didn’t offer assistance or give us direction where to find it. We just stood there like idiots waiting for the help that never came haha dorks! I’ll go again to see if they have learned any type of customer service.

Great place for couponing. The manager and staff are very nice. Never a hard time when I coupon. But I'm also very nice and understand when sometimes the sales don't work. It's the computer not the people.

Unfortunately, it's disheveled, items strewn on the floor, and the parking lot has debris all over it. It started out beautiful, too bad there's no pride in the store now. Just very messy.

Nice store! Odd place for a dollar general but we have needed some sort of store in this area for years now so i'm glad i dont need to drive all the way to wal-mart just for a few small items.
