This tribe is so generous for opening their doors to the public. Please treat the people and their natural surroundings with utmost respect.

The views and trails were beautiful. The locals not so! If you want to go somewhere you are not wanted go to the town. The store overcharges and tries to add items to your bill without you knowing. The food at the only restaurant is dog food. The people are generally overtly rude and service is non existent. On the way out our car was broken into with only make up and underwear stolen, but the car will have a $2000 repair. If I ever go again I will pack everything in and be self sufficient, I will not leave a dollar. The place is beautiful, waterfalls amazing.

Plan this trip. Do your homework. Reservations. You should be able to carry your pack, ten miles desert hiking conditions. We stayed in Flagstaff, drove to the trail head then hiked down. Respect the locals. Don't be a goof ball in the village, save that for the campsite. There is a cafeteria where you can get pricey, but good food spiced with hunger. Plenty of spring water at campsite and water at tourist office. Fine sand and dusty trails in the village. Wish I took my toe shoes. There is a post office. You can ship heavy stuff out with a flat rate box or even mail stuff down ahead of time and pick it up at the p.o.

it's overpriced, very crowded and not kept up well. some areas do not have designated campsites so you end up with people camping within 10 feet of you or less. People going to the bathroom on the ground within a few feet of your tent. Ghetto camping at it's finest.

I work here at the school Dec 2 - May 22. Remote friendly village of 210 in Supai. Three picturesque waterfalls enjoyed by domestic and international hikers. Local cafe serves excellent food 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Over Thanksgiving 2019 we had reservations to hike down to Havasupai. There was a huge storm and the entire campground was floaded and evacuated. Roads were closed, the village lost power, and we were told the campround was closed. For months I have been emailing/calling the tribe trying to find a resolution for the thousands of dollars we lost. Constantly being told they are waiting on the tribe to make a decision for the 400 people who weren't able to hike down. Every response I received was a different answers. We were never offered a refund or to reschedule, only told we could try to rebook and pay full price.Today, I was told the storm never happened, the floading never happened, the campgrounds never closed, and it was all untrue. I am posting this not to vent or complain about the circumstances, but more hoping to raise awareness. For anyone else who has had a similar experience with Havasupai please reach out to me or just share this post.I am beyond devastated and disappointed in the way my group has been treated. We were planning this trip for over a year, we bought cold weather gear and rain gear preparing for the worst, we spend thousands of dollars on food, gear, gas, hotel cost, and water, not to mention we were stuck in Peach Springs, AZ for 3 days hoping we could hike down. I have wanted to visit Havasupai since I moved to Arizona, and I have always been an advocate for the tribe. To be treated this way is unacceptable. Please share this post to raise awareness of this situation.

"Not super friendly, but I guess friendly enough"Oh, but those views though. It's hard to describe this village. A mixed bag of sorts, the people have departed from many traditional ways and don't seem thrilled to have visitors wandering through (they generally ignore you and aren't particularly helpful with any questions). The staff at the camping registration office were the only friendly people I found, and they told me jewelry and craft making were a dying art there (when I asked why there weren't more crafts being sold in a village supposedly known for this handiwork). The views are amazing, though. I'd suggest considering the helicopter ride out with Air West if you want to save some time on your return trip. They told me you can sign up first come, first served for trips up the day of and they'll go down the list with trips every 15mins until 1pm or until everyone has been lifted out. The tribal people get first priority, though.

AMAZING experience!! My only complaint is that they will do whatever the hell they want no matter how it affects your reservation. Yes it is their land but just because you can do whatever you want doesn't mean that it's the right thing to do. Example, when Beyonce was there many people's reservations got affected and blocked from the fall for almost a whole day. That was not right! But because they could do it, they did and many people got screwed in the process. So yes, I would say great place to experience BUT cross your fingers they don't do something that screws you just because they can and will if it benefits THEM all while they screw you.

Beautiful hidden gem, pack miles overworked so I would never use them. Carry your own load. Locals were nice, I had no issues. Overall awesome experience!

The area is beautiful ! Great place to hike. The Supai are more friendly/open to visitors than in years past. Also they are monitoring hikers coming in.

So much work but so worth the bucket list trip. My Wife, Son and I made the hike in and out. My boy is 9. Wow! The hike out was a killer and I would never do that again (i'm in excellent shape and 40. Helicopter only again for us on the way out.

By them keeping out tourists, it's going to completely wipe out the village when they finally open again. Our immune systems weren't meant to be isolated

Beautiful place haunted by abuse and death of miles and horses. The tribe doesn't care for them, they only want your money. So much for that connection and one with the land and nature eh? Hell, I'm more are one with nature than they are.

Serene spot with breathtaking scenery. The strenuous hike to and from the campgrounds is more than made up for by the awesome views that never get boring!
