I want to start by saying I shop exclusively at the Safeway on Bell and 109th Ave in Sun City Arizona. The employees at this store are terrific. They are very helpful, very professional and very nice all the time. The store is clean and well stocked. I am a senior citizen that is handicapped and need to use the drive along carts. The carts at this store are very old and in need of maintenance and repair. The past 3 trips to the store I was not able to get my shopping done without the battery on the cart dying in the middle of the store. It is very difficult to leave the cart, return to the front of the store, get a different cart or buggy, unload my selected groceries and finish shopping. There is not even a warning that the battery is dying, it just slows down and stops. I only use carts that are fully charged. This is a big problem for both me and my husband. Please address this issue. Thank you

The store is very clean and well organized. The employs are fantastic. The other night I got there after closing, and the manager let me in to grab one item. I have never had anyone do that at A grocery store before. The cashiers are very friendly and the butchers will go way out of there way to help you with just about anything.

Pharmacy is slow, only one person to get prescriptions and cash out customers. Extremely nice customer service, 3 stars for the employees, they work very hard. Upper management needs to get them some help..

This is the best Safeway you can go to, hands down. This place is riddled with old people and I have never in my life seen so many parking lot through downs. Old people yelling at each other and I have even seen them try and run each other over with a car. Always a good brawl in the mix. Like WWE with raisens. If you want a show, just hang out in the parking lot. FYI, they always wait the till working class gets off work as they want to see the people paying for the SSI checks they are getting. FYI you can expect someone to be upset about you taking that close parking spot. Guaranteed a fist shacking at the least.

I go to this Safeway because it is well staffed and friendly. They have a Starbucks and good flowers. The parking lot is easy to get in and out of.

DONT WORK HERE. They will gaslight you into oblivion especially if you’re a woman. Unfair treatment. Always assuming the worst from their good employees. And letting others lash out at other employees. Also I’m saying this for my diabetic girlfriend. Her blood sugar is not a joke. Quit making people feel like they owe their lives to this store cause y’all are miserable people. Same thing with Albertsons. They’re all souless drones. Manager enjoys taking smoke breaks every 10 minutes as well, what a terrible manager just leaving his employees and complaining about doing real work.

Terrible customer service. Employees don’t know what they’re doing. Unprofessional wench working self checkout can’t do her job. Maybe it’s time to retire. Wasted my time and my money. The wench and the joke so called manager have nothing else to do besides harass people. Prob a good thing you’re just in retail. What a joke.

The employees here are stressed and undervalued due to corporate policies. This store is in Sun City (55 to 100yr olds). They cannot do self checkout- and that is half the registers! And the store advertises "digital coupons" 90% of the clients get to register and want the advertised prices and cannot run Safeway app on phone. The poor cashiers have become multi cell phone tech service as the line gets longer and more restless. Safeway corporate clearly has no clue how to serve elderly.

Pros:Very handy, and has been great for clean, organized, etc.Cons: they are always low on a few items I like. Shelf will be FULL of generic tonic and soda water, but the 1-2 slots they assign to Canada dry or Seagram's name brands often empty. Same with large bottles Ocean Spray 100% juice. I'm there at least 3x per week, and they do restock about every week or week and a half... But if I can see everyone prefers these items, why can't they? Yes, I've mentioned it in written note a couple of times. And if Im out of those items, I won't chance going there, but that trip will be to Fry's.

An old store that desperately needs a remodel. This store suffers from constant out-of- stocks...on a lot of items and it's worse on ad items. Safeway's meat department is the best in the market.The workers in the store are very nice, especially in the meat department. This is why I still do some of my shopping here.

I live really close to this Safeway and use it often but I can think of ATLEAST 3 times I have walked in the doors and immediately turned around and left and drove down to Frys.Reason? The repugnant smell of the butcher shop/meat counter in the back of the store. Sometimes it is so overwhelmingly disgusting I just can't be in the store.I haven't eaten meat in 32 years but it's not even that...yes meat disgusts me but I grew up a meat eater as a kid and the majority of my family and friends are meat eaters. So I'm used to being around it. But MY GOD...Safeway...you have got to come up with better maybe more sanitary cleaners or get a better ventilation system. When the smell from THE BACK of the store hits you in the face as you're coming in through the FRONT door....somethings wrong.I usually avoid going anywhere the meat counter and section but it's right there by the produce section and you can't avoid it all together.Look I hate going near that section in Frys as well but I can't always avoid it...but Frys has NEVER smelled AS BAD as Safeways butcher area.You guys REALLY NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT OVERWHELMING STENCH. ITS DISGUSTING!

It was a terrible experience. I clipped my coupons that I wanted to use. I did my shopping and proceeded to check out. The total was much higher than I was expecting. Obviously, the clipped coupons were not applied. The cashier said there was nothing she could do. I would have to pay the higher price. Then, I would have to go stand in line at customer service and see if there was anything they could do for me. I left the cart full of bagged groceries sitting there and walked out. I am still very upset about it. I am considering never going back to Safeway. I am very disappointed!

Honestly I went in to get hamburger meat and I saw the fresh meat and seafood section. I ended up buying 60 dollars on crab,6 oysters and 1 lobster tail. If you know how to cook it, it's amazing and way cheaper.

They typically always have what I need and have great sales. The store app for coupons works great 95% of the time. I also love the selection of gift cards they have available for purchase. Safeway seems to have become my one stop shop for just about everything.

I went looking for the fried chicken. The deli was closed at 6:30. I still don't understand why the deli doesn't have set hours posted.The store has done a fantastic job with the remodel. They need to make a lounge/smoking area in the back of the store. No one wants to see food workers sitting outside in their aprons sucking on cigarettes. No one wants to walk through a cloud of smoke entering the store.The shopping center needs to step up their game. It really needs to be updated. Since those charging stations were installed I've seen them used less than a dozen times.

I was shopping in the store 8/18/22. Around 2pm. Self checkout. I had an issues and turned to the cashier and she was texting on her phone. I spoke up that I needed help. She said "hold on" Excuse me!! I as a customer was not important. I had to wait. I get tired of these young kids texting on the job. The company is paying them to text on company time.

This store is always very clean and mostly stocked. The employees are all very polite and very helpful. The four stars are because quite a bit of there items can be pricey. If you don't do their online sales your bill bill be a bit high. Other then that I do recommend this safeway. I shop there along but never without doing their online sales first.

Love shopping here, just wish it was easier to get the deals. I sometimes struggle with finding the digital deals in the app. If I try to "search" for the item it will tell me item not found. So I have to page through all the items, or try various ways to find an item I can see in the newspaper ad.

All 5 registers were open but the lines were 10 customers deep. The coffee shop takes up way too much room and limits the check out area. I guess corporate needs to decide which is more important selling coffee or groceries.

99%of the people that work there are very pleasant and nice how ever there is a cart collection person named Julie that is so hateful she ruins the reviews by 50%always picking on my service dog Jerry as well as following me around the store I let my dog mingle with the coustermers. And other employees who love Jerry I have employees that tryed to buy him from me and coustermers because they say he is so be haved lm not sure I think her problem is with me I want to thank all jerries supporters and minn
