We stayed at the well appointed, renovated and clean motel from yester-year. The creative space is something you don’t see very often, it’s a great common space and very homey. The rooms were clean and tidy and the beds very comfortable. This is one of the nicest stays we had along Route 66. The owners were knowledgeable of the area and helpful, very kind, and run a gem of a little business.

Two friends and I were driving from Texas to California after the 2024 solar eclipse, and booked various lodges and motels for our trip back. The Aztec Motel is a real stand-out!The owner cheerfully greeted us and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay, the rooms were luxuriously appointed (hello, weighted duvet?!), with unusual and artful vintage touches. Everything is very clean, the tap water is truly superior, and the bagged to-go breakfast was thoughtful and nourishing (not hungry for breakfast? Now you have lunch!). We didn’t take advantage of the creative space but it’d be super fun to gather there with family or a group for some decompression on the road. Plus, there’s a sweet cat who wanders around looking adorable.I would not hesitate to stay here again. The gift shop is also worth a look if you’re just passing through. Thanks, Aztec Motel, for your little oasis.Rooms: Clean, quiet, and creatively appointed.Walkability: Everything you need is on a one-mile strip of historic Route 66Food & drinks: Mentioning the hotel gets you a discount at local restaurants

The iconic Route 66, Aztec Motel in Seligman AZ, is one of the most unique, stylish & delightful motels we’ve stayed at. The motel has been thoughtfully refurbished with vintage furnishings & art but also with a modern remodeled bathroom & a high end super comfy bed. The unit was very clean. The Creative Space serves as the breakfast room & as a super cool retro hang out space complete with family friendly board games & a piano. The owner serves a lovely bagged breakfast & excellent brewed coffee. The owners take great pride in their motel & their guests experience. They are super friendly, kind & helpful. The price for a single room with a queen was about $100 / night if booked directly on the motel’s website. That seemed like a good value to us.We highly recommend the Aztec Motel, it is a gem of a Rt 66 vintage motel. We loved it!

I stayed here on the return leg of a two week road trip out to see the total solar eclipse. This place was easily the best of all the motels I stayed at during my time on the road. It's an incredibly charming place that obviously has a great deal of work and care put into it.The room was impeccably clean, the proprietor was friendly and helpful, and the Creative Space lounge is a delightful amenity. The bag breakfast is also such a great touch.

I stopped here on our way to havasupai falls with 3 friends because I read some great reviews and we heard there was a cute cat on the property. It did not disappoint at all! Sebastian was an amazing host from check in to check out. He even gave us a to-go breakfast that was exactly what we needed to start our adventure. It was well worth it. I wish we had more time to explore the town, but I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who asks and will be staying here again in the future.Rooms: Comfy comfy beds and everything you need for a good nights sleepNearby activities: Grand Canyon, havasupaiSafety: Felt totally safe from dusk to dawn

An amazing Motel run by a lovely couple. After being on the road for days (driving fromVancouver Canada) this motel was a complete blessing. Soft beds, nice showers, and endless thoughtful details (including a packed breakfast!) A sweet area of Route 66, across from attractions and close to places to eat. Gift shop has lots of amazing items, that are made in the USA or hyper local (their coffee beans are from a roaster in the town!)Aztec Motel is so much more than a stop along the way, it’s a destination! I wish we could have stayed longer and can’t wait to come back!Edit: bought some merch from the gift shop, both items fell apart. tried reaching out directly to the owners to give them a heads up, without reply :(Rooms: Comfortable, clean and cuteNearby activities: Lots of Route 66 shops, antiques, and artWalkability: The town is all walkable!Food & drinks: Local eateries within walking distanceNoteworthy details: Creative space, thoughtful hosts, and perfect desert landscape

We stopped here on our way to Dallas. What a great spot. Sebastian was a great host giving us suggestions for dinner. His motel is very well set up. Clean, neat rooms. Appreciate the multiple outlets and USB ports on both sides of the bed! The common room was well decorated with all kinds of board games. Great items in the gift shop. And of course, Frankie, the cat. Highly recommend!

This place was perfect for a quick stay, as we began our journey from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon and other national parks. Located on Route 66, it is quite small and appears to be a basic, older motel. Appearances can be very deceiving though. Rooms are accessed with a code. Beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms nice. A breakfast of a hard boiled egg, good yogurt, granola bar, bottle of water were there for each of us in the refrigerator. Sebastian is an awesome owner and host.

This place is in an improved area on Route 66. This stretch of Route 66 isn't trashed and run down. On the contrary, it is pretty cool and people are keeping it in good shape. This motel is authentic but updated enough to make it comfortable. It's still a direct connection to the 50's & 60s. A great historic experience. Very clean and tidy.

This place was such a blast ! The beds were comfy and relaxing. The weighted blanket was my favorite. It's such a reto vibe with modern amenities. There was a roku TV for the kids . Mini fridge to store all you're goodies . The common space was cute. A TV, yard games , board games and good music. The continental breakfast was super cute. A brown bag special! The perfect amount to hold you over until you get into town. The hotel host was so nice and sweet. The mini gift shop has all American made items and cute little eclectic gifts that are local. You also have the option. To rent the whole motel for parties and events at a really great cost. We will definetly be returning. This is in the middle of the little city and plenty of photo ops 😇Rooms: Mattress was comfy and the weighted blankets are such a treat !Nearby activities: Sight seeing , mini museums , photo ops and gift shopsWalkability: Many restaurants around here within walking distance.Food & drinks: All kinds of food for all budgets. Steak house and diners .

Stayed here for Havasupai trip the next day. Did not hear the train noise except for a very low rumble from time to time(did not even notice until mentioned) which was the main reason we did not go to somewhere closer to the trailhead. The room was clean, good water pressure, hot water, handheld shower head(I know it might sound weird to mention this but it’s just my thing because it’s handy!), knobs/hooks were in places where you actually need them and they even give you this little cute to-go-breakfast pouch! They had everything that I needed for spending the night and getting ready to hit the road. Restraurants that will give you HUGE portions of foods are around too. 30 minutes to the check-in point, 1.5 hours to get to the trailhead. All in all it was a great choice. Will go back if I get another chance to go to Seligman.

The Aztec Motel & Creative SpaceRoute 66 Seligman, ArizonaDuring our stay in Seligman, Arizona, I decided to visit The Aztec Motel & Creative Space. We were staying down the road at the Historic Route 66 Motel. I was curious about the motel, and I wanted to meet both Bas de Boorder ( Sabastiaan) and Anna. The funny thing is that several years ago, I met both of them at the Motel when it was being renovated. I believe they were painting an area black, which was by the office.I walked into the office and was greeted by Anna. She was very outgoing and told Sabastiaan I was there to see the motel. Sabastiaan was great as he gave me a great tour of the Motel. The Aztec Motel was originally built in 1915 and went through the renovation in 2021.There was something that I sensed about Sabastiaan, and I knew we both had something in common by the way he gave me the tour. We later talked about his experience in running a Motel, and I later learned that he also worked in hospitality management, which is what I had worked in most of my career. He is professional, and I could tell that he cares about the guest service experience. Both him and Anna have helped with beautifying the town of Seligman by helping clean areas in the town. The rooms themselves are great. They are beautifully decorated in a retro and vintage motif and are spacious. The rooms all have several amenities such as a coffee maker, mini fridge, complimentary Starlink WiFi, and Roku Streaming Service. Each room also has several charging stations for your laptops, phone, and other electronic gear you may bring during your trip. There are several room types available, such as a Junior Suite, Double Rooms, and Single Rooms. The Motel is Pet Friendly, but according to the website, it is recommended to book directly with the Motel since there are only a few pet rooms available. All rooms are non-smoking, but there is a designated smoking area near the office. As we we were taking a tour of the rooms I could not help but notice the cleanliness of the rooms. Sabastiaan explained to me that after the guest checks out that every surface is wiped down thoroughly and everything is inspected thoroughly. The Motel also has another great amenity which many smaller motels don't have and that would be a place where people can relax, read a book, do some work, or even just have their morning coffee. The Motel has what they call their "Creative Space." This area also has a meeting space, which can be closed off. This would make great meeting space or for special events. Another amenity they offer is a complimentary breakfast, which can be found in a small brown bag. In this bag, you will find yogurt, granola bar, fruit cup, cheese, and a hard-boiled egg.The Motel also has a great gift shop that offers colorful shirts, hats, and other souvenirs. Sabastiaan also works with local artist and vendors to help sell their products in the gift shopThis is not your typical motel but more of a beautiful boutique motel that offers their guest great rooms and amenities. The owners are great and want to give travelers a unique guest service experience. On our next visit to Seligman, we will book a room at this beautiful motel.Thank you, Sabastiaan, Anna, and Staff, for a wonderful tour of your motel.

We stayed at the Aztec Motel the night before our camping adventure at the Havasoupai tribal lands. We stayed in a junior suite, which included a full kitchen. This room was perfect for us, as it allowed us to cook a good supper prior to our long hike the next morning. The bagged breakfast was a wonderful surprise to us! The motel's owner was very kind, helpful, and courteous. You can tell that he works hard to make sure that guests are comfortable in the accommodations.I would highly recommend this motel to others, especially to anyone camping at Havasoupai. It was a scenic 1h45min drive to Hilltop Trailhead where the hike to the Havasoupai campground begins.Rooms: Coffee machine was great to have, comfortable bed, heating/AC available, blackout blinds

We absolutely loved our stay here! The owners were very kind and welcoming. You can tell that they truly care about making it a wonderful stay for all. The vintage decor was adorable and necessary for the Route 66 feel while also bringing in the modern touches that we felt we needed. The rooms were very clean and cozy. The brown bag breakfast worked out great for us to hit the road first thing in the morning. We will definitely be recommending this place! Thank you for the hospitality!

When you ask yourself "why should I stay here?", a better question would be " Why didn't I stay here?"Bas and Anna are fantastic hosts, super helpful, entertaining and wherever you go in the town the locals will say they are known as hospitable, decent and an asset to Seligman. The rooms are really comfortable, clean and would be great for either overnight or couple of days.Their gift shop is filled with local and US made product.Quirky,Funky gemAuthentic experience here miles apart from shallow Las Vegas.Rooms: Clean and comfortableNearby activities: Lots to seeSafety: Super safeWalkability: Easy to walk the townFood & drinks: Great spots nearbyNoteworthy details: Val Kilmer stayed here

The Aztec Motel is such a nice place. I travel for work alot and this quaint little motel surpasses any corporate hotel. It is cleaner, quieter, and just a great spot. Anna and Sebastian are lovely people who really care about their motel and the town they live in.Their little dog and large cat make the place feel homey and loved. I can't wait to go back.On a side note, Sebastian really can read palms.

We loved visiting the Aztec Motel on Historic Route 66 at the end of 2023! What a charming, artistic, and tidy motel, with vintage touches and modern amenities. It really feels like you are having the ideal Route 66 experience with friendly innkeepers, local gifts, and funky art, while also offering the level of quality that city visitors expect. The Aztec Motel was an original Route 66 motel with the same owners for many decades. When the former owners retired, it was restored and updated by Sebastian and Anna, a lovely couple who are dedicated to making Seligman AZ a nicer place to live and visit. The sense of care is very obvious.Bedrooms are spacious and clean, and have cute retro styling and nice bedding, along with wi-fi and flatscreen tvs. The gathering room has lots of activities, there is a bbq area with seating, and the gift shop has unique choices that aren't just the same mass-produced trinkets. My dog Laika (pictured with with the Motel owner, Sebastian!) and I roadtrip around America very extensively, and are huge motel fans. This is one of the best. We can't wait to visit the Aztec Motel again!Rooms: The rooms are styled like vintage motel rooms, updated with modern amenities.Walkability: There are many other restaurants and things to do along this street, in old town Seligman.Noteworthy details: Check out the many murals on the property, that make great photo backdrops for your trip! Laika got "beamed up" with the aliens in a Model T Ford!

This was the best place to stay before our trip to Havasupai!! The rooms were clean and comfortable and very cute! The motel was very quiet (this was important as we were waking up early morning to make the drive to the trailhead). We appreciated the breakfast bags and to go coffee cups they gave to us the night before as we were gonna be leaving before breakfast time. Book here, you will not be disappointed!!!
