I was charged full price for dog groom services that did not take place. While booking the appointment online, I was very clear in my comments that this would be my 4-month old puppy’s first grooming (cut) and that he is typically wiggly at home when I bathe and brush him. After I arrived, while checking in, the groomer (Easton) told me that he would not be providing a full bathe/cut service due to it being the puppy’s first time and “Petco’s policy” of easing a dog into the grooming experience. I asked if I would get a discount then, to which Easton said “No, that’s not the ‘policy’.” Easton told me the grooming would take about two hours. When I came back 2 hours and 45 minutes(!) later, Easton told me that my puppy had not tolerated grooming and though they were able to bathe, dry (air, not blower), and brush him, they were unable to cut any hair other than a little around his paws. Easton then asked if I wanted the puppy’s nails trim and I said I wanted everything done that the dog would tolerate other than he didn’t need teeth done because I brush those at home. Easton then asked “So, should I brush his teeth here then?” I was incredulous and said “I said ‘No’ - I do that at home just fine on my own.” Easton told me my puppy would be ready in about 15 more minutes. When service (3 hours!) was done and I saw my puppy, he actually had more hair than when I originally dropped him off! Not only was the hair still clearly all around his eyes (so he couldn’t see) and mouth (so food would still get stuck in it), he was now a puppy-sized ball of puff! There was no indication that the puppy had any cut at all! It was obvious by his smell that he had been perfumed, though he was no softer/cleaner than when I dropped him off in the beginning of the service (I had already bathed him the day before). Easton provided me with the bill for service - full price PLUS another $10 on top of that for nail trimming! I was livid! I was paying close to $60 for NOTHING!! I asked Easton why I was paying full price for a service that was clearly not completed and he said “It’s Petco’s policy that we don’t overstress a dog. We don’t provide discounts for services unable to be rendered due to the dog’s stress and anxiety” and then Easton proceeded to tell me that if I brought the puppy in frequently that he would eventually get used to it and then be able to “sit still” through a full grooming. I asked Easton if I would be charged full price each time I came in and he said “Yes, that’s the ‘policy’.” I am in shock at my experience with this! This was my first puppy-grooming experience and I trusted Petco to not only provide services, but at the very minimum not charge me for services not rendered. Petco should be ashamed of themself for this ‘policy’ and for hiring groomers like Easton who did nothing to try to earn the customer’s trust and confidence. Petco grooming experience is a DISGRACE! I will NEVER go back to Petco grooming and I will not only NOT recommend anyone else to use Petco’s grooming services, but I also intend to write reviews on multiple social media sites urging others to avoid Petco grooming services too!

Jamie was very helpful and Snowy looked really white and fluffy when I picked him up. She was helpful and choosing upgraded services that needed to be done. We put a good pkg together that worked for us.

Everything was done in a very timely manner, my dog looked amazing!! it was just fast and easy for me. Plus the fact that my dog did not have to spend 4-6 hours in the salon was way less stressful for her.

The Groomer actually came out from behind the counter and sincerely spoke to me in terms of my dog's needs and concerns. She gave excellent options too - I expected good but she as well, as my dog's results are a 10/excellent. Thank you.

I wish I knew the names of the girls there. The one with the blue hair is exceptionally sweet and I look forward to seeing her when I go in. I don't know who does the bathing and nail grinding. I wish I did. I would take my dog in more often if it were cheaper. But, oh well, that's my problem.
