The absolute best veterinary practice in my experience. Since I discovered Horizon Animal Hospital 4 years ago, I never hesitate to drive an hour each way because of how well we are treated here. Several times we have been squeezed in due to last minute issues and every time it’s been a wonderful experience. I never feel like a burden when I call. No matter who answers the phone, they are always kind and ready to answer any question or address any concerns. Making appointments is easy and we are never kept waiting long when we are there for an appointment.We normally see Dr Patterson who is a total saint and so incredibly kind and patient. Most recently she performed a c-section on my dog that was expecting a singleton puppy. Dr. Patterson (and the techs) did an amazing job and the incision was almost completely healed not even a week later. I have another young dog that has had a multitude of issues and she’s been beyond helpful in getting him the proper care. We’ve seen Dr. Penn and Dr. Emily on occasion and they have also been amazing. We love all of the techs as well. Everyone here is amazing!The prices are reasonable and I have never felt pressured to have anything done that’s not completely necessary. Keep up the amazing work, Horizon Animal Hospital!

Hands down the best vet I’ve ever taken a pet too! We feel welcomed every time we’ve been there. You can really tell how much everyone working at Horizon loves animals. The staff always makes a big fuss over our little Sammy and they make a vet visit enjoyable for everyone. We love that they’re our vet and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

We had an emergency with our new rescue puppy Dakota. We live in Strawberry, Arizona. Our three month old puppy ingested what we feared was mouse poison. We called poison control, and the outlook was not good. We drove 75 miles to Horizon Amimal Hospital. Jennifer met us at the door and ushered us in even though they were booked solid, they made room for us. Our puppy received excellent care in our time of need! When we were desperate for help they stepped up and did everything they could to help us. They treated Dakota as if she were their own puppy. Dr. Emily was wonderful and all the staff was amazing! We were so happy with the outcome we decided to make them our permanent veterinarian. We will gladly drive the extra distance to have such excellent care for our puppy. Five stars is not enough for the wonderful service we received! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Dakota is doing wonderfully thanks to you.

The entire staff is great! They clearly love and value our pets. Dr. Emily and Dr. Wendy are both very caring and concerned about the health of my dog and do everything they can to make it a pleasant visit for all of us!

Horizon Animal Hospital was able to get our new six month old rescue pup in for treatment of worms the same morning that we saw evidence. He is extremely fearful of everything but Horizon staff made him more comfortable with their patience and loving attitude towards him. We were impressed with the level of care that we received for our little Smokey, and we really appreciated the follow-up phone call to see how he was doing the next day. We are happy to say Horizon animal Hospital is our new vet, we highly recommend them!

Horizon Animal Hospital has literally been a savior for us. My dog was having a severe medical issue that two previous veterinarians were unable to diagnose. After burning crucial time and almost losing our sick pup, we made our way to Horizon. Horizon had the technology to quickly diagnose my dog and Dr. Penn immediately conducted surgery which saved my dog’s life. Hospital hours are great, staff goes way above and beyond and the Doctors are second to none. I will recommend Horizon Animal Hospital any chance I get. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We were seeing Dr. Beth 25 yrs ago until her retirement with three of our five dogs, they're very compassionate especially when our dogs were put to sleep for old age & one with cancer. Dr. Penn is now our go to vet and is wonderful with our dogs, we have one Lab/mix female at 14 yrs old now, our last baby, until i rescue another. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

We have been customers at Horizon Animal Hospital for over 22 years. We have always been very pleased with the care the Drs and staff have provided for our pets. We recently had a very serious medical emergency.Dr. Emily was the primary veterinarian that we saw during this. She was absolutely AMAZING. We were so grateful to have her help during such a difficult time. Her compassion and concern for us and our dog was incredible. It was a very tough and stressful situation and she truly went above and beyond to help us. Fortunately, we were able to have surgery with Dr. Savicky and he did a wonderful job. I’m happy to report that our dog is doing FANTASTIC and we have the entire Horizon Animal Hospital team to thank!

We love Horizon! Dr. Penn and Dr. Ozmun have both treated our Frenchie puppy, Mabel, for almost two years and they’ve shown such love and care. We just left the office after Mabel was showing some back pain, and Dr. Ozmun walked me through each step, checked in often and put up with my many questions. The staff is friendly and the techs are kind and were so gentle with my dog. It can be hard to trust someone with your pets but I always feel safe leaving Mabel in their hands :)

We just moved to the area and I needed to take in my mini schnauzer for a dental and other maintenance care. The vet was very thorough when explaing what she needed. I didn't feel rushed at all. The vet techs are super friendly! My tech who did her dental showed me her before and after pics and did an amazing job! She also took her time explaing Mollis meds. The ladies at the front desk was very nice from start to finish! I highly reccomend this veterinary hospital for all of your babies needs!

What can I say. Our cat is alive because of their care. I was expecting to put our cat down. Open on a Sunday. They were recommended and we drove from San Tan Valley. Great service and doctors. Fast email response. Since this is a hospital they can do blood and urine tests results in house so you can make decisions more quickly. We were able to determine it was an infection. That's treatable. He spent a half day with an IV. With an antibiotic regimen for the past week our Enzo is eating, drinking, going outside, doing his business, and just plain being himself. Thank you.

My girl Kitty has started arthritis shots recently and I can see an improvement in her house and behavior. I’m glad that they offer this new treatment. Everyone at the office has been very nice, reliable and I feel like they really care about my cats needs!Would recommend to my family and friends!

My dog has been a patient here for 10 years. We couldn't be happier. We always feel welcome when we come in, being greated is really nice. It's also a very comfortable environment. The techs are always great. I really feel they listen. I consistently have a short wait time to meet the Dr. When we do I always feel like my dog, and me are treated with care and respect. Whatever the diagnosis is, its given to me straight. We always talk plans/options and we work together to solve the situation. I may have moved about 20 minutes away, but I'd drive hours to continue to work with them. Thank you! ❤️

I’ve been in a few times for both my cats and dog. The technicians that have helped me out (I think their names were Andrea and JJ? Anyways they both deserve a raise! Both were so sweet and genuine!) and both the doctors that have seen my pets- Dr. Patterson and Dr. Penn, have been nothing but amazing and knowledgeable! IMPORTANT INFORMATION THAT YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF WHEN TRUSTING THE CARE OF YOUR VERY SICK DOG TO A VETERINARIANMy experience with several veterinarian practices and the ultimate death of my 8 year old Australian Shepherd is a story that I feel I must share.My dog was eight years old suddenly became very ill: he had high liver enzymes and problems with his stomach which was extremely distended with fluid, vomiting whenever he ate and could ultimately not eat. Our first vet recommended an ultrasound and the vet at this practice told me he could not do anything further for this dog.I then took him to this vet practice the Ultrasound was done, no fluids removed from my dogs abdomen. They found nothing because they did not take the time to remove the fluid in his stomach. Then a pancreatitis test was done came back positive which actually means nothing when you have high liver enzymes. The diagnosis of acute pancreatitis can be difficult because clinical signs and results of diagnostic testing are often nonspecific. 3 days of hospitalization was recommended. I took him home and asked for an estimate of how much it would cost to bring him in for hospitalization for pancreatitis. I then took him to this vet practice for hospitalization. When I arrived the vet could not see him. Never hand your very sick dog over to Vet Tech. I told the Vet Tech he had not eaten for 8 days. The Vet Techs just did what was on the list for Pancreatitis without talking to the Veterinarian about his current condition. Also, they did not take his temperature until I called to ask. At that point he hadn't eaten for EIGHT days.The treatment was to give him a conditionally approved drug called PANOQUELL- CA-1. (Bad drug, look it up) keep in mind… BUT NOTE… NO FLUID WAS EVER EXTRACTED FROM HIS VERY LARGE ABDOMEN FILLED WITH FLUID, hiding anything which might be found behind some of these organs. Nor was his temperature ever taken until I insisted. He was given an IV dose of Panoquell without ever telling me of the dangers and risks of this very potent conditionally approved drug. He had to be transferred to an emergency hospital for overnight care since this vet practice could not do overnight.So then at the vet at the emergency hospital said the previous vet should have not given him that medicine he didn't need it, he didn't have pancreatitis and what they did find after draining his abdomen of 1.4 liter of yellow fluid and doing 2 ultrasounds was CANCER of the bladder and intestines. At that point, after having the conditionally approved drug Panoquell-CA1, my dog looked like a zombie and acted like he was on a hallucinogen drug; and did not even recognize me. After learning that he did in fact have cancer I decided that the humane thing to do was to put him to sleep. I was so sad feeling like my poor dog had been put through torture of poor incompetent vet care (no temperature; no abdomen aspiration before doing an ultrasound).I just had to share this very sad and tragic story. I cannot recommend this Animal Hospital. I am heartbroken that they did this torture to my dog before he died. MAKE YOUR VETERANARIAN LISTEN TO YOU NO MATTER WHAT, ALWAYS WAIT TO TALK TO THE VET BEFORE YOU HAND OVER YOUR PET!
