Ace hardware is the all America store where they go the extra mile to hold onto the local business feel. I went online to find a good coffee maker. I was met by Eric who went way and above in locating a sister Ace Hardware. He wrote down the address and was what I called an AWESOME Ace Hardware Ambassador. I would like to single out Eric as a wonderful example of true customer service.

Harper is a Superhero!I have come to recognize the individuals at ACE Hardware, adorned in their distinctive "Red Vest," as veritable superheroes equipped with an extraordinary set of skills. Recently, I encountered a perplexing challenge involving a retaining clip. So I drove to ACE Hardware on Shea and Scottsdale Rd and bought a specialty tool for retaining clips. Despite my initial attempt to resolve it with this specialized tool, the complexity of the task became apparent, and even the most robust individuals in our office could not decipher its intricacies.In my pursuit of a solution, I revisited ACE Hardware and, to my utmost satisfaction, encountered a remarkable individual named Harper. I am inclined to believe that his nametag should rightfully read "Superhero." Upon seeking his assistance, Harper adeptly rolled up his sleeves and successfully extracted the elusive retaining clip within a matter of minutes, salvaging the day.ACE Hardware stands out as a haven where consummate professionals, akin to superheroes, are poised and prepared to offer unparalleled assistance. Their proficiency and dedication make them unequivocally the best in the industry. Harper was truly SPECTACULAR.

It's tough being a neighborhood hardware store. Sometimes they don't have an exact match for the light bulb or bolt you're looking for, which is frustrating as a customer....but many times they do !This location also has really attentive service...it's easy to find someone to assist you when your stuck. H.D. and Lowes ...not so much.I also have a loyalty to this ACE because they were 'generously assisted' my son with hardware needs for his eagle scout project..20 years ago !

Unfortunately my normal ACE hardware on Union Hills & 19th Ave was out of the item I needed. They were so kindly to direct me to a location that did. Well to my surprise I drove out of my way to purchase an item at the location on Scottsdale Rd and Shea. This location was EXTREMELY humid and blistering HOT. I was bit by several mosquitoes. I had to have a key made in the back. I could barely breathe because of the uncomfortable temperature. I felt sick to my stomach, so I had to leave. This location should be shutdown for unbearable conditions of heat exhaustion. I will NEVER go back to this location again. I would rather wait for the item to be ordered at my local Ace hardware where there is air conditioner and enjoyable shopping experience and not being bit by bugs.

Recently I visited this location and I was very pleased from the moment I wandered in, until the time I departed. I went in to get a copy of a house key made and pick up a couple of other things I needed to get some work done around the house. The gentleman who helped me at the counter was great and acknowledged me immediately upon my arrival at the counter. Service was quick and concise, had me set up with my spare key in just a few minutes.All in all a great establishment, I also noticed that it looked like they were expanding the store into an open commercial building next door. The only thing I would personally knock them on is the lack of variety in the outdoor/plant section of the store.

1st they charged me for 2items when I only was buying 1. 2nd they charged me more than the price on the shelf. I told them. They didn't believe me. I went & got the price from the shelf and showed them. No apology, nothing. Very poor attitude & service.

Great store with very helpful employees! I have been going here for years, and am always pleased with how knowledgable and helpful people are. They're genuinely trying to help, not sell you things. There is a 'big box' retail hardware store very close, and every time I go there I get frustrated with the lack of help and wish I went to Ace. They don't always have everything you need, but definitely worth checking first. They're also extremely helpful when you have a project and aren't exactly sure how to finish it. I have had some great advice and recommendations from the staff.

Nice organized hardware store. Ace is known for variety and having pretty much all you could ever need. Staff was helpful as soon as I walked in they make it a point to help anyone who walks thru the door. If you need anything that has to do with hardware or DIY projects Ace is the place to go lol.

Fantastic Ace Hardware they have a giant grilling section. If you’re looking for all the best accessories on yetis, big green eggs and webers you are in the right place. They also have a good amount of black stones and griddle cook tops. If you can’t find the right tool for Bbq there you’re probably looking in the wrong spots I would highly recommend any barbecue her to go to this ace hardware.

Great service! Found that this place was on my way home from a class, so I stopped to pick up a bracket I needed. I had my 12-wk-old baby with me, but since I thought I was just getting one item, I took her in my arms without a carrier or shopping cart. Peter helped us find the bracket, when I showed him a pic of what we needed. Afterward, I thought of more things I needed (12V battery and extra house key). Chris, who turned out to be a manager there) was awesome. He found the exact battery I needed for the flashlight that was in my trunk and he also made the housekey, all in a flash. He carried everything to the check out for me and checked me out as well. Such hospitality and kindness! He was so cheerful, so efficient, so fast, and at the same time helping others who were shopping and asking questions, answering with specific rows and sections as we walked by. I actually kind of felt like royalty the way he took care of us so well! Thanks for your great store and excellent staff!

This place is terrible. Deep down I want to love Ace Hardware. I want to support this business over the other larger hardware stores but they are constantly disappointing. I've called three times, explicitly asked for someone to check stock, confirmed they had it only to show up and find out that it's not in stock but can be ordered and would arrive in 3-4 days. Also, the customer service attitude is good but they lack expertise. I'm not sure they know what they are talking about. If you value your time, go to home depot.

Really like this Ace, large selection of products & friendly helpful staff. I never have to beg for assistance as I did at the store on McDonald. This location has become a weekly shopping stop for all our new home needs.

I visited the Ace Hardware store located 10300 N Scottsdale Rd on June29, 2022 to find a screw for my new refrigerator handle. The old one broke. As soon as I entered this family owned store, the clerk asked me what did I need. He directed me to aisle 5. Within a matter of seconds, I was greeted by Glenn. He spent about 20 minutes trying to find the right screw. He found two for me. I also spoke to Sean, the manager, and told him what a well run store he had. This type of personal service defines why this store continues to excel in excellence.

In & out for anything you need but forgot to get at the big-box Lowe's or Home Depot in the way of hardware, building needs, gardening, painting. Small but mighty, I'd say. Very nice place to go that's usually close toyour neighborhood and you need it in a hurry. Check website it call to verify, employees are very helpful. Their marketing slogan is right!

Just had the worst experience with a rude cashier. Was overcharged by 70 cents for an item and had only intended to let them know the price was wrong. Instead I was told that “prices change and the sticker wasn’t updated yet.” It was the tone of voice and the principle rather than the amount —especially since state law views things differently.

I shop here regularly. The quality of the staff varies greatly with some experienced older people who are really helpful and know a lot. A few of the younger staff are good too, but several times I've run into people who do not know much of anything and to top it off are lazy and reluctant to help. Still about 10 million times better than Home Depot or Lowes.

Of course it is better than going to a Home Depot. However whoever is the owner/manager of the store should take some time to invest in employee training. I come here all the time and most of the employees have zero customer service skills. A smile and asking how your day is would go very far. I just checked out and not so much as a smile or any acknowledgement. Another person I asked a question of and he did not even look at me but sort of mumbled “no he doesn’t think they have that”. Then he walked away. Just a suggestion that some basic customer service training would go along way to improve your store!

I would give Ace a 2.5 starts on price, refund policy/treatment, customer service and knowledge/help. I give them 2 stars for product selection. Their business model is clearly to offer more Customer Service Representatives per customer and to proactively approach customers for help. That's a great approach, but to be distinguished from Home Depot and Lowe's their representatives would need to have better legitimate knowledge on topics. Simply having "more" people is of no benefit if their average knowledge level is really low. It takes a lot more than just knowing what isle the products are in and reading the labels of the products. They have a doomed business model without significant service level improvements.
