I usually don't give reviews unless the place is super good or super bad. I've been to a few vets around Tucson and this vet is one of the best. The staff are all professional and kind, and the provider is very knowledgeable. I will recommend them to everyone who wants their pet well taken care of.

We had an emergency situation with our dog and were heading to Tucson from Rio Rico as our regular veterinary office was closed. While enroute, our dog was declining quickly. We were able to locate VCA Sahuarita and stopped there. Although we lost our Nikita that night, it wasn’t due to lack of care or life saving efforts on VCA’s part. The entire staff was so compassionate and patient with us as we said goodbye. After receiving Nikita’s remains about a week later, we received by mail a sympathy card personally signed by each staff member. My wife and I were so touched by such a loving gesture. Thank you VCA Sahuarita for the excellent care and for going above and beyond during a very difficult time.

I’m from California and moved here in 2020 with my 10 year old bichon friese who had been a member of the VCA in Glendale, CA.The transition from one to the other was wonderful and so easy. When she passed away in 2022 the staff at VCA were so supportive! Now I have a German Shepard and the VCA team have taken care of both of us since she was 8 weeks old! I’m 72 years old and my Luna is a full time job that I didn’t think I could handle but with VCA we are now 1 1/2 years old and going strong!

Hey VCA in Sahuarita,Tonya or Tania, the person answering the phones on Saturday October 21, 2923 is going to cost you patience and clients. She is awful at Customer Service. Rude on the phone after she put me on on hold first for 15 minutes and then again for another 5 minutes. I could tell Saturdays are just not her day! She said, “yeah, yeah I was able to cancel your appointment.” Probably needs a bit of a refresher on how to represent your business in a professional manner over the phone. Just awful person!

We had to make the difficult decision of putting our 18 year old dog to rest. It was very very hard for us, but they made us confident in our decision. We got an appointment the same day, they took us back into a room immediately when we got there and the staff was so compassionate during the process. The doctor was so sweet and talked us through it, even helped comfort me. I would absolutely recommend going here for all of your pet’s needs. Thank you VCA for making such a difficult time a tad bit easier.

On Friday, May 26, my beloved dobie Ozzy passed away from lymphoma here at home. I brought him back to VCA Sahuarita. Dr. Schroth and the entire staff have been so kind to Ozzy through his last months. They went above and beyond in the care they providedI just want to express my gratitude to everyone there.

The doctor and staff here have been a godsend working us in so quickly & just with how wonderfully they treated both Gus and myself.I called initially & was told they didn’t have availability, but about 10mins later they called me back & were able to see him.I had felt so defeated all morning and was extremely frustrated with not being able to get Gus help. Then when the staff called me back I was a crying mess as I felt grateful & relieved. the ladies here have been so compassionate and empathetic not only for my Gus but for me as wellI 100% recommend this office for your pet care needsIf I could give more than 5 stars I would !!

I’m satisfied with this bet, but not really, my animal is overdue on some medications and they have failed to let me know of the due date and have failed to send me an email of the need to get an appointment to get her her meds. I’m thinking I’ll make a change, but I’ll let ‘em know first, if I k ew she was behind I would have took her in for her meds. When it comes to then making money on an appointment there on point but if it’s just meds they seem to be lagging

I recently had to put my baby of 15 years down, and the team in Sahuarita were incredible! They got me in the next day and were so compassionate with myself and my baby. They allowed me as much time as I needed with her. I would have paid whatever I needed to, to stop her suffering, but they were beyond reasonable with their price. And I got my baby back today with a beautiful paw print and the urn is beautiful! Thank you for making this difficult time less stressful for us!

We have taken our dog, for years now, to Dr. Dawson and to Kelly (the groomer) at VCA Sahuarita. They are the BEST!!! We will never take our dog anywhere else. The entire staff at VCA Sahuarita have always been so professional, knowledgeable, loving, caring, compassionate, etc. There aren’t enough words to describe how amazing the workers at VCA Sahuarita are. We think of them as our family. We trust the VCA Sahuarita staff a million percent with our dog, Maya Papaya, and her care and well being. Our dog will be 12 years old this year. She has grown up with our two children and so Maya is an integral part of our family, is one of our children too, and means the world to us also. We used to live in Sahuarita but now we live in Tucson so I drive 45 minutes one way to VCA Sahuarita and another 45 minutes back home so Maya can still go to Dr. Dawson and to Kelly for her grooming needs. I will continue to bring Maya to VCA Sahuarita regardless of the longer distance that is now between us. All of the vets, vet techs, vet assistants, groomer, front desk staff, etc., are superb! The whole staff at VCA Sahuarita are top notch and we will always bring our dog here. We are so grateful and thankful to everyone at VCA Sahuarita! You are all so awesome!!!!

Went to the vet yesterday the charge was supposed to be ($112.00) but ended up paying ($206.00) just for exam and ear wash and a prescription which we told them we would do it at home and They hurt my dog twice.

About a year ago we had to lay our family dog of 13 years to rest. It was one of the most painful things I have ever experienced, and making the decision was not easy. We got in without an appointment in just five minutes, the staff was gentle and caring from start to finish. We ugly cried (a lot) and they were so kind, offered us a lot of tissue, and gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. The tech, Danielle, was especially kind. She was so kind and genuine, it was obvious that she takes her job seriously and is passionate about her work. It is odd to give such a sad experience five stars but the staff made the whole experience so much better.

We have had such good experiences with VCA. Dr Schroth is wonderful and really shows she cares. Our dog was declining pretty quickly and she was able to help us find a solution for him to start to feel better. She answered questions, would respond quickly when she could from the texting program they have, and would follow up. I appreciate the caring and compassion they showed to our family!

I would not recommend taking your pets here at all. For starters, their prices keep going up egregiously. Recently in the midst of COVID-19, our regularly scheduled annual check-ups were canceled and rescheduled out months later because they wanted to open the priority of appointments to those who's pets were actually sick. However, my pet is sick today and when I called, they refused her to be seen because "we're too booked up and can't get you in for months". They also added that "if your pet is that sick, you shouldn't wait until tomorrow to get her in somewhere" which greatly upsets me because who is going to take her in as a new patient overnight? No-one! What good is paying for a vet if you can never go? The unprofessionalism of making us give up our appointment supposedly for the sake of others but then immediately being denied a sick visit of our own boils my blood. To add insult to injury, we finally got our annual exams in but it cost us hundreds for the routine vaccinations even though they said both pets were in perfect health and in fact had more incredible dental and coat health than they usually see. We also always feel rushed.Moral of the story is, unless you want to pay a kidney for a vet that can never see you when you actually NEED to be seen, DON'T GO HERE.

They went above and beyond. Putting a loved one down is one of the hardest things to do and they were very compassionate. They give you a free imprint of your loved ones paw and to our surprise a couple days later we received a card from everyone who worked there saying nice and comforting things. Everyone who signed it had different things to say it was so very sweet. The card just topped it all it meant so much to our family.

On April 21, 2018, our best friend, Coco passed away at home. I phoned VCA in Sahuarita to see if they were opened so that we could take our doggie over for cremation. I spoke to Stephanie and she was very helpful. I asked her for the fee and if it included the paw prints and she said yes. We took our Coco and they took us to a room right away. My husband and I were able to spend more time with Coco. We wrapped him in his favorite blanket. The tech (Danielle) came in, gave her condolences and reviewed a form with us. She asked us of we wanted the cremations returned to us. Of course we do. I checked off for the remains to come the VCA hospital so we may pick up. She advised us that it would be about 2 weeks and reviewed the phone numbers to call. We gave our last goodbyes to our Coco, walked out and paid. We were both upset and in tears. My husband got called today to advise that Coco was ready to be picked up. We arrived to pick him up after 4:30p today. The gave us Coco in his Urn and inside a bag. No Paw prints. I asked for the Paw prints. The young lady looked for them and went to the back to check. No Paw prints. She first told us that we marked "no" on the form that we did not want the paw prints. Then she went to the back and said that the tech stated that she asked us if we wanted the Paw Prints and that we stated that it would be to devastating for us to have them. At this point I wanted to scream How can I explain this to my daughter. We would have never said that. We had our Precious also cremated there with VCA in 2015. We received her ashes in a Urn, Paw Prints and a condolence card. With our Coco we got his ashes in a Urn. This makes me very mad as now we do not have his memory in his paw prints. More upsetting that we got told 2 different stories from the same lady. What does one need to do to get our money back? My sister took her dog to the VCA in Tucson the week before Coco passed away. She filled out the same forms and there was no talk about Paw Prints. When she picked up Rambo's ashes were in a beautiful brown box and it came with a card and paw print in a heart shape. I will not do this again as we have our other doggies. Our dogs are our family and Coco's passing is already hard on us and we can see the sadness in our other dogs. If you have a way to explain to our daughter about the Paw Prints please share. Please do not tell me how sorry you are. That will not help.

I made an appointment for my cat for 11 am. I entered the clinic a few minutes before 11 and was told to have a seat and the staff would be with me shortly. There were two other people with dogs in the waiting room. These animals were seen and dismissed within 15 minutes. No other clients were in the waiting room and all of the exam rooms were empty. At 11:30, I approached the desk person and asked how much longer it would be. She called back to the office area and asked how much longer it would be. I was told they were preparing the room for my cat. I was summoned back to the room at 11:35 and the staff acted as if it was unreasonable for me to be upset about the excessive wait time. My cat is known to the clinic and needs some special care. I expect that when I make an appointment, that it will be kept within reason. In that there were no other animals in the clinic, I do not think that waiting 35 minutes after my appointment was reasonable. When Dr Scroth finally came into the room, she was condescending and mentioned that the clinic was just like a doctor's office. She also told me that they were doing the best that they could and it was not helpful that I was being "rude". My cat received the necessary services, but will NOT be returning to this clinic.

Been taking my dog Cali here for the last few years. Staff is very friendly and she is excited to see them! Never had any problems and prices are competitive within the area (to include South Tucson/ Green Valley). At this time the 4 star overall rating is quite well for the shopping center. Rancho Sahuarita is known for snobby people who expect local businesses to bend to every whim they have. I couldn't ask for a better vet team than the one at VCA.

I do not recommend!! I always feel like they try to rush you out of there if you have any questions or concerns they just go yes, yes, yes and don’t even answer and I’ve had it 3 times and they always upsale the heck out of your pets illness or just a small check up and do unnecessary procedures making your bill higher then what was spoken over the phone I found an excellent and more patient vet in green valley they kind and they help you budget and if the small procedure or medicine then it alerts them it’s more serious and they move forward with those steps instead of killing your wallet when it probably wasn’t that serious in the first place

I scheduled an appointment to have my dog put to rest. It was a vulnerable moment for me. After my dog was put down, I go to pay the bill, and find that they snuck an expensive consultation fee. I wasn't consulted. I made the decision. Because it was an emotional moment, I paid and left. I recommend everyone to review itemized fees.

During our time of need, they were there for us and worked their busy Saturday schedule to get us in, even tho we were not prior patents. The staff was most professional and compassionate. Treated our dying pet with the utmost respect. Thank you very much for helping out during a horrible situation.

My lovely cat, Zoe, developed a very high fever right before a 3-day holiday weekend. Fortunately, Valley Animal Hospital in Sahuarita was open on Saturday. Dr. Bernal and her staff kept Zoe all afternoon and gave her medication and subcutaneous fluids. Their knowledge and supportive care saved Zoe's life. And, their encouragement was a life saver for me, as well. I really appreciate the time they took to discuss the treatment plan with me. Dr. Bernal has a special love of cats and an exceptional ability to communicate with people! We are lucky to have her in our community.

I had a great experience here. We came in with a stray dog we found. The called multiple places to find the owner. They found the owner and arranged for her to call. All through it they, managed, to put the dogs at ease.Follow up: the lady called later in the week and asked if everything has been resolved successfully. That was pretty thoughtful.

The team at VCA in Sahuarita are great to work with. Tucker has been treated very well by everyone there. The doctors caring make sure that I understand Tucker's treatment needs thoroughly and are very responsive when I have questions "after the fact".

I am so happy that Valley opened in Sahuarita!!! I wouldn't take my furry kids anywhere else, but it was a long drive to the Tucson location. I love the clinic and the wonderful staff. I will still take them to the Tucson location for any emergencies though. I would recommend Valley Animal to anyone.

Our cat could barely eat and drink water, and the VCA vet assured us that cleaning our cats teeth would cure her. After spending $700 for a teeth cleaning and pulling one tooth, her mouth problems just got worse. We took her somewhere else to find out she had an ulcer on her tongue. What kind of a vet works on a cats mouth, that's out from anesthesia, and doesn't see an ulcer? A money hungry vet, that's what. All they want is money, they don't care about your pet. We even took her back a couple weeks after the cleaning, and they just sent us home with pain pills. They don't care, don't go to this vet.

I brought my temperamental kitty in for an ear infection, and the staff was fantastic. Everyone was very gentle with him and patient, and though he was nervous, he left a lot calmer than I expected. Will recommend to everyone!

Let's face it, all of the vets in this area are OUTRAGEOUS! To give you an example of this if you google "How much does neutering a dog cost it says "How Much Does it Cost to Neuter a Dog? The cost of dog neutering typically costs between $50 to $250. The exact cost depends on the size and age of your pet and the type of clinic where the procedure is completed. Some animal hospitals may charge up to $250 to neuter a male dog." I called VCA and asked for their price on neutering a small dog and they quoted $440.00 and that did NOT include a microchip. OUTRAGEOUS. This is a simple surgery. I called ABC clinic in Tucson and they quoted $120. Folks you are getting ripped off royally using these Green Valley/Sahuarita rip off Vets.

Unable to tell me how much it costs to neuter a rabbit and wanted me to come in for a pre-surgical consultation ($42) while they "looked it up". Having no idea of the cost or timeline involved, I agreed. Fortunately, friends were able to find me a vet's office who knew precisely how much it cost, could schedule my Giant rabbit for the following week with a pre-consultation just prior to surgery (so as not to incur two fees) and at a great price. They were even aware that rabbits can eat up to surgery, as they cannot vomit and that I should bring more of his food with him to get him eating again ASAP. In a vet, confidence is everything to an owner. I canceled the "pre-surgical consultation" with VCA. Going in blind isn't how I balance our household budget.
