Camphosts are super nice. We are here in December. Not many campers here. Really nice area, but they had a flood in September, so it's partially a mess, lower campground is closed, probably will never reopen. This campground needs some TLC, way more than the two volunteers can provide. The road from 181 is hairy, but doable. The road west of the marina is closed. Probably will never open back up. Huge rock fall into the road and the road is in bad shape. You must drive to the campground via Roosevelt lake dam. Peaceful calm, birdy place, even had rain last night!

Access is limited but it adds to the appeal. Spaces are a bit closer than I'd expected and it seems like there is a lot of construction around the area to improve drivability. But the lake is quiet compared to alternatives.

Perfect camping site for family, our campsite has perfect view of the lake, it has water supply and bathroom. My family and I found a beautiful beach while we were kayaking.

This is a great place to camp if you don't need hook-ups. You can get spots right on or very close to the water. The boat ramp is near by and Apache is a great lake for water skiing and jet skiing, too narrow for many sail boats. It is a bit of a rough ride to get to the campground, not for the faint hearted.

I absolutely love this place! The campground is extremely well maintained and the camp hosts, Renata and her husband were beyond welcoming and helpful! We stayed at campsite 37 and the views were spectacular! We even spotted an eagle flying over the river! We will for sure be coming back!

This is an excellent outdoor experience for the family. The campgrounds are well kept. Restrooms routinely cleaned. Roads are easy access for most vehicles with outdoor capability. You can purchase your slot at the entrance.

Off the beaten path camping on Apache lake! 5 miles up AZ 88. Road is narrow and sometimes washboard but doable with a trailer. Campground was nice! Was not busy. Not much to do without watercraft unless just kicking back lakeside/campsite is OK with you. Vault toilets are probably the only downside to this campground. Shade structures and fire rings provided and some BBQ grills. Tent camping and trailers seem to be the norm. I really liked the spot. Definitely wonder how busy it is in summer.

Awesome campsites and opportunity to be right on the water when camping and more spread out than at the Apache campgrounds.I usually prefer a more serene and quiet camping experience and this place is not always that- expect boats and jet skies and quads and lots of families and music etc... but If you’re lucky enough to find a semi private spot on the water or hidden within the trees way on the outskirts, you’ll be in heaven. The water helps to block out the sounds (not that it’s extremely loud or annoying but you can expect there to be others all around).Pros: camping on the water, swimming, spectacular sunsets and viewsCons: can be loud, rowdy people, music from other campsitesWeather in Sept-Oct: it was perfectly sunny and gorgeous out when I arrived. Water temp was so enjoyable for swimming. Winds picked up on the late afternoon. Night was perfect temps and warm breeze that cooled later in the night. Then throughout the night light showers. Woke up to pouring rain with wind, cold weather and clouds. As the day went on it cleared again but much cooler temps.

Booked an oversized site plus grabbed a neighboring even spot for our party of 19. Great proximity to the water, clean sites, recently trimmed greenery. We'll continue to come back.

We usually camp at the rim but decided to try Burnt Corral since it's still cool down in the scrub. The camp sites are close together and if you are at the lake sites there is no vegetation to break the view to your neighbor. Due to the sites being close together you can hear every single thing your neighbors are saying. A group arrived at around 4 am and were carrying on without regard for anyone else. Another group down by the lake was blaring their music so loud you couldn't have a conversation. I felt sorry for their neighbors as we could hear the music back up at our site which was more in the scrub, not on the lake. The ammonia smell of the bathrooms will burn your eyes. Overall, not really impressed. Proximity to the lake was nice but the crowd this place attracts and the closeness of the sites was a miss for us. We will be looking elsewhere for our spring/fall camping.Restrooms: The stench, even before the heat sets in, is pretty awful. It burns the eyes and nose if you are in there for more than a minute or so.

I love this campground! Every space has a clean restroom nearby, water post, grill, and close to the lake. The only downside for me is the drive, other than that, perfect place!

Great location along the river, campground is not very big and was full but didn’t feel crowded. Great spots right on water perfect for water sport and fishing.Bathrooms were really smelly and need maintenance.

Camp host is super friendly and helpful. Spot is beautiful. Bumpy long dirt road to get there well worth it. Friendly campers as well, at least while we were there. Highly recommended.

The drive here is beautiful, the campsite itself it’s pretty clean and quiet. Spaces are a bit close to each other. There were raccoons the host warned us about them before hand.

Camping slots are great, big enough for 2 to 4 cars and 3 tents, clean WC, near Apache lake with swimming area. Nice and peaceful for campers. Just $12 for camping, watercraft...

Great camping here! I always have a great time and feel recharged. It can get quite busy, but well worth it. Many campgroubns here also have a good amount of privacy.

It's a bit hard to find wood but absolutely zero cell phone service, so that's a big plus, and most of the people are really friendly and willing to help out if you forget things like loading ramps..

Very disappointed at the level of disregard people have for campgrounds. And I am also disappointed in the keepers of the land. I saw a park ranger drive by, and they did nothing about the other groups that were being disrespectful to the land.

Don't go on a Friday. Get there before 7pm. It was in the 80s when I went there early October 2023. And people were drinking and partying, fighting and arguing until 3 in the morning! The camp host did nothing about it. There are only bathroom's no shower. Beautiful scenery and like that there is first come first serve and plenty of spots before 7pm on a Friday.Restrooms: Only toilet, non flushing...Picnic area: Some spots have tables.

Nice campground, clean toilets, the only hiking trail only went to the neighboring campground that is shut down. Kayaking was great. The campsites are oddly close together.

I had a great time at the campgrounds. The road to get there was a bit narrow and the vault bathrooms smell but it was a fantastic time. Lake was calm enough to kayak in. I hope to go back soon.

Beautiful place. It was me and my family 1st time there. The camp grounds were clean and so was the restroom. Me and the family had a blast. Kids played in the water on the beach area and we fished from the same shore area. Got a couple bites but no luck on a catch. Will definitely come back. Hopefully get a spot right next to the water on the next trip. The site we set up shop was not a long walk to the water at all. The camp area's not along the water are very private and spacious. So if you like that it's perfect.Note: Washboard roads, narrow roads, lots of twist and turns, no railings on hillsidesRestrooms: Super clean. Motion lights if need to access after dark. There was a water leak somewhere but otherwise no complaints.Dog-friendliness: We brought our 55lb boxer mix. She was well behaved amoung the other pups there. Aside from some late night barkering all was well. There was a pair of larger dogs running around off leash near the beach the entire time there. They didn't bother the people. They were nice behaved but since all dog near were leashed. They would chase eachother through the small crowd and near the leashed dogs mine included which would excite them. I know there's a clear as day sign stating all dogs on leashes but I just kept my mouth shut.Picnic area: Picnic area was super clean aside from dust on tables. I did notice if your table was by a tree good luck because the birds owned. As always juat bring a table cloth

Apache lake is among the most beautiful there are. However, that road going in there is pitiful. Winding mountain road isn't the issue.I will not bring my 5th wheel back in there again because that road will break your equipment. Leaf springs and frames. Once was enough. Fix the road and I'll consider going back but then so will everyone else.First come first serve.

There are plenty of spots that are right up on the water. The dock has plenty of space for boats and jet skiis. Another nice thing is that each camping area a pretty secluded. They have the bushes and plant life set up right.
