My wife went there to ask a couple questions and pick up a few things for our daughters new fish tank. We have been having water issues, so my wife gets some products and when she asked the lady behind a question her response was " don't you have Facebook? Go there and ask questions from people who have been having the same problem as you" very rude and dismissive of my wife and our daughters, won't go there again, having fish isn't cheap or easy but worth the smiles on my girls faces, we will find a friendly knowledgeable aquarium/pet store , this place isn't it.

Always a great experience. Old school,Old format, old time customer service, impeccable. This may not be the fanciest place, I love the charm about it, but it’s the best. Knowledgeable and not like your big box fish stores where they don’t know squat and would sell you fish that die in 2 days.

After visiting EVERY tropical fish store in the valley, this is our favorite. We ❤️ this fish store! The people are all so knowledgable, helpful, and kind. Their prices are by far the best. Their fish are well taken care of, and they have a great selection.This store brings back fond memories of Phoenix Tropical Fish. It's worth the drive from anywhere in the valley.

I thoroughly enjoy shopping and spending time in Tropical Treasures. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The animals are all in wonderful condition! The reptiles are all alert, responsive, with healthy skin and eyes. The fish and aquatic species are also so gorgeous and well kept. I have purchased a betta fish, a snail and a few neocaridina shrimp and they're all healthy and happy!

They sell stunted sick discus. Continue to sell you product that is ineffective. The discus in the tank there had ich and were treated one day...long haired hippie dude said come back tomm they will be ready to sell. All tanks have issues. Bad buisness.... they don't deserve the fish they do them wrong.

Tropical Treasures has been a staple in our families life for many years. We started when my teenaged son turned 5 and got his first fish tank. The employees really held our hands walking us through the entire startup process. Lots of fish, a bearded dragon, a ball python and a second human child later, they are still answering our questions with just as much patience and knowledge. GREAT JOB TROPICAL TREASURES! YALL ROCK!

If I could give no stars...Update, 11/9/2023. Today I am tearing down my small terrarium.You sold me pods with predatory hitchhikers that are attacking the babies. I am thankful I chose not to add the pods to my vivarium. It would've been ruined.10/2023 Original review, Yesterday, I watched your store take back a pricey snake habitat with light accessories without packaging. $$$My $12.00 cup of springtails you assumed I wanted a refund, cause they were alive yesterday. I woke up today with three alive. You refused me service. I'm disappointed in your lack of care and customer service. I was enjoying coming to your store as I built my Vivarium that I bought from your store.

I adore this shop. I have been coming here for many years. I have donated a goldfish and purchased many others. Most recently i purchased a baby bearded dragon. The team, especially Jen (and a dude with longish hair - cant remember his name), are amazing with advice for reptiles! Saturday, we went for live food and got a chance to see their turtles get fed. If you need advice or help with something, dont be afraid to ask this crew as they care deeply for all their animals and will do their best to steer you in the right direction!

They have a nice selection of aquatic & reptile supplies at very low prices. They have a wide variety of reptile, amphibian and fish pets available. They have very friendly Uromastyx too. Customer service is great because despite them being super busy they still asked us if we needed help. I have two cons about this place.... 1. Space in there is limited and it feels claustrophobic. 2. Cleanliness the aquariums/tanks were a little messy from the exteriors and some from the inside. Maybe it's just that the place has aged. Either way I can't blame them since there are a lot of creatures to take care of that can take for ever. If there was a way to have a different set up there so people don't have to compete for walking/standing space then that would make this place even more amazing.

Well lets see, first i want to thank Nina who was super awesome and patient with me. She was the ideal customer service rep. 👍🏻 Now in regards to the store. Not the biggest fish variety that ive ran into BUT had some really cool rarities which was nice, and in general a very decent selection. Now where this place really REALLY shines is in supplies and various products. ESPECIALLY Seachem products. Large variety of HOB filters and the accessories for them. For example after many hours of research I decided to replace my p.o.s. topfin filter with a Seachem Tidal 35. ( fits perfectly without needing to modify my aquarium top) Not only did they have them in stock and at the EXACT online price, they had several accessories for the Tidal filters. I was absolutely thrilled to discover this! In a bind I can make a quick run up to this store and get EVERYTHING I need to tend to my Lil Buddy's (Fish). I posted a variety of pictures of shelves with products for you too view, however please note I didn't get everything (it was a little busy) so there is plenty more. I recommend calling and asking if your not sure you see what your looking for in the pics I posted. That being said I ABSOLUTELY will be returning here soon, I even messaged all my fish loving friends to give them the good news. Their food and chemical selections were better than any Petsmart and Petco, and some things were even cheaper! 😎👍🏻Im very happy I happened upon this place. Kudos to the owner for not price gouging and keeping everything super affordable for his clients. I look forward to my next visit. Oh and to people who have never been here before I highly recommend comming by with a few extra minutes to spare and really getting a good look at their impressive inventory, you'll be pleasantly surprised.Thanks again guys! 😁

Really cool little exotic pet store. They’ve got a big selection of nice fish. And a reptile and arachnid area in the back. The staff is friendly, passionate and very knowledgeable. If you’ve got fish, support this place. They even take in healthy fish if you can no longer keep them.

I like the variety they have but the store is so cramped and small it reminds me on a hoarder house. No space to stand and look at animals or just breath. Also they are kind of overpriced

I wanna start off with THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST PET STORE EVER. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE & PASSIONATE ABOUT EVERYTHING THEY DO . I hope to share my experience with you to encourage you to adopt from this place. Also encourage the employees to keep up the outstanding customer service . Although there are several “ fish stores “ this one is by far my favorite. Really because the wonderful experience they provided for me . One day I called and asked if they had any surrenders available , let the lady know I had a 75 I wanted to adopt one fish for . She gave me a few suggestions , also let me know they had baby flower horns in. MIND YOU , I DIDNT EVEN ASK FOR THIS . Her suggestion completed my tank. I had been looking for flower horns all across the city , Ocean floor ( NONE) , Kona reef ( NONE ) & every fish store you can think of . Without her kindness and passion she has for her job I would have never thought to ask or look here . Most people don’t have good customer service and would answer yes or no . ( that’s the service I’m used to at places like this ) . SHE WAS SWEET and there her small suggestion gave me everything I ever wanted . This fish is not common in fish stores . I was extremely surprised to know they had my dream fish . Next morning right at 10 I walked in . I was greeted and asked if I needed some assistance . ( AGAIN , something I’m not used to ) . The gentleman who helped me , gave me some info about my fish , asked me which one I wanted & even tho I was indecisive he was very patient. After he directed me to which fish would would be best , snatched the 2 packs up and to the register I went . As many people might feel like 100$ for a fish is a lot , it is but it was a lot easier to spend with a great experience I had . I was pleased and very happy to spend that $ at this place . And I would do it again . Thank you for the experience and from here on out I will encourage people to come here . Thank you thank you thank you . I hope you all are pleased with this store as much as I am , kindness goes a long ways !! :)

Since my first salt water tank 2014ish... ive been coming to Don, when it was on bell road and 27th Ave.I have always had luck with the variety of reef coral. Since covid import has been pretty slow but I've gone back multiple times to buy what he has left!Love this place. Needs a restock on saltwater stuff ,lol . But ill just keep bugging 😉 Drew the Tattooer

I called spoke with Jennifer very nice , knowledgeable in axolotls. Came in after speaking to Jennifer the staff was very helpful. They were very busy. Jason answer all questions helped us get our axie. Definitely recommend them they have beautiful healthy axolotls.

This place is unbelievably dirty, you can smell the store from outside the building.Staff/Owner are rude, and assume you know nothing of fish and will talk down to you when you question anything about the store or the expired products on the shelf.Tanks are over crowded, many dead fish at the bottoms of tanks, males and females kept together for constant breeding of weak inbred genetics.I would not use anything from this store even if it was given to me for free.Save your money and most importantly save the lives of your fish and do not shop here.TLDR: This place is the gas station of fish stores, it's dirty, smelly, has rude employees, and you will leave frustrated and feeling scammed.

I went to Kona and they did not have amanos tropical treasures had them and more . The store is packed with merchandise and tanks filled with everything you need and want. The look of the Store doesn't bother me when the fish are healthy and happy.

I've been coming here for a couple years since I found out about this gem. Has everything you could want for tropical fish, amphibians, and reptiles. Very small town kinda vibe and the employees have knowledge that blows the big box petstores out of the water. Definitely check it out you won't be disappointed.

Great store, nice staff. Excellent selection of fish and they get shipments Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday you can always find find a new species and some nice fish. Plant selection is sub par but priced well.

I love small shops, I always go to them for my pet shopping and when it comes to shrimp? Tropical Treasures was my go to. This isnt my first time buying from them and I know the very clear no guarantee. But everytime I visit this shop Im falling over things, I see animals in awful condition and Im unfortunately always let down with the shrimp dying every single time. I can appreciate the crew members making sure I know how to drip acclimate and making sure I know specific things. I would love to see this shop get better though, it has so much potential. The overcrowded tanks, axolotls with gills that are deteriorating and animals put onto any surface they can fit. Goodluck and I hope I can change this review at some point for the better!

Loved visiting this store for the first time a few days ago. Everything was well priced, all the animals looked healthy, and staff were very eager to help and answer questions. I’m only giving four stars because the store did smell badly, it was very crowded with products, and the floors were full of water. There were a few animals I wanted to view but couldn’t because there was more stuff like empty tanks and shelves stacked in front. You couldn’t fit more than two people in an aisle. I also understand that water on the floor is to be expected when walking in a fish store, but it was excessive and nasty water. Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned all day. That being said, we will be visiting the store again, as the animals we bought from them were very healthy and happy and the products were good quality.

Don, the proprietor, is always helpful with your home tropical fish needs. He also will allow you to donate or give up fish if you no longer desire them or are moving, etc, etc. His prices are reasonable and acceptable within this market of business !!! I have been RECOMMENDING Tropical Treasures now since 2010. And if you need help setting up a nice Aquarium 125 gallons or larger he will get you rolling for sure, by using his skills and experience at your home as well. Thanks Don !! - Mr. Paul

Smelly and dirty... Fish purchased from here infected the rest of my fish and killed 90% of them. I should have quarantined the new fish, or just not purchased any from this store especially since their community tanks had tons of dead fish in them. Very unfortunate and sad for the fish.

This place was recommended to us through pets mart by an employee when we were inquiring care for our house gecko she adv the food for him would be cheaper at tropical and so we headed straight there and they had more and better food for Def less the price. What seemed to be the owner or store manager was very insightful and helpful he knew exactly what we needed and we plan on returning every month for our geckos food and any other needs! Loooove this place! Thank you so much!

This is where I got my amazing little hatchling ball python, all the required enclosure needs a 30 Gallo tank and the necessary substrate. Coco husk & eco earth dirt mixture a heating pad and thermostat / humidity guage and where I get my weekly meal for a hungry snake! (They carry frozen thawed as well as live in all sizes upto adult full grown) She's growing so fast and has the best tempermant hasn't ever so much as tried striking even once couldn't ask for a better snake if you're interested in finding an awesome new reptile, snake lizard monitor, etc. Or even a large selection of different fish and sea creatures then you should definitely go check them out!
